I see that a lot of commenters would like to see the U-boat kit being built. I'm inclined to agree, but only if Andy grows a beard first...just like every self-respecting U-boat commander did. 😉😆
Absolutely do the sub, grow the beard, don't shower besides some sea water spray on your face and work under emergency red lights. Total immersive model making at its finest. And oh, the entire thing filmed for our enjoyment.
I have built the CSM Romfell armoured car as it is just so steam punk. There were no fit issues with the kit, very good quality. The only thing is that the vehicle has a large door to each side of the armoured compartment that you can build open however, there is very little interior detail in the kit. The instructions show some sketches of the actual vehicle with an outline interior, so I enjoyed scratch building some interior detail. Also the engine is very detailed with bonnet (hood) panels that can be built open. The only detail missing from the engine are the plug leads but they can easily be added. I believe the vehicle was actually Austro Hungarian and only one - maybe two vehicles were ever made.
Anything Copper State does is excellent. It’s Wingnut Wings quality including the instruction books (something the latest Meng-nut DR.1 failed miserably). The fit points are perfectly engineered and the kits almost fall together, as the saying goes. I just completed a CSM Lanchester armored car and it was a joy, fast build, and looks fantastic.
I have so many ideas for that Raumer kit... Even in 1/72, I believe is it going to be close to 23cm long overall! So, built as intended, or turned into some crazy kitbash... It is still going to be a hell of a shelf statement. You could even 'rescale' it as a kitbash, to work with larger figures, if you use your imagination.
The Nieuport was technically not a biplane - but a sesquiplane: Sesquiplane definition is - a biplane having one wing of less than half the area of the other. Hence the small lower wing you mentioned in the video.
*There is too many kits that i wanted to buy ... The Merkava? Of course! Raümer and Sdfk 617? YES! A Pz I? Why not but as a gift! The WW1 submarine? OMG i collapse! Romfell, Lancaster? I GIVE UP!!!! Thanks for the review Andy!*
The new U-Boat from Das Werk looks like it'd be incredibly fun, and as it said on the box art picture it's the first model kit of the U-9 to be made. That IMO makes it that much more interesting. As a side note, though, subs are almost always called boats and not ships. To my knowledge the only time they're not called boats is aboard modern subs when certain orders are given.
Great review Andy ! hope you and your loved ones are well. The WW 1 sub kind of made my heart beat faster ! Very Interesting !!! Until the next one, be safe ! Tony
Picked up the Lanchester & Romfell kits from you earlier this week, should be here tomorrow so that's exciting. The Panzer IA in 1/16 is a great kit. I finished the Ammo by MIG Spanish Civil War Breda version about a month ago (MIG released the kit in partnership with Takom). Kit builds up real nice, near flawless fit & finish. The tracks were a breeze to assemble and really looked great when weathered up. I may have to grab the IB as well for a matched set.
They have been out here in the UK for years! The lanchester is absolutely beautiful the plastic wheels are like PE Romfells ww1 armour car is a great kit too! Can't fault them in any way! CSM went out of production here in UK for a while but it's been back for a few years now there abot like mirror models but definitely not new kits that's for sure! Just check UA-cam there's some really nice video's of the romfell and lanchester built
I can't believe he's just putting them up as new kits that's amazing! They have been out that long now they stopped the production at one point and have re released them again haha! It wasn't easy finding the Romfell armored car a few years ago that's a stunning kit too!
Model of the FV432 very interesting as I drove between the FV432 and Chieftain. With the FV432 there were 10 different versions as well as the basic FV432 had add on such as penthouse on the back, so will looking out for the models.
I'm about to tackle the Takom Bergepather, 1st Takom kit for me but really looking forward to it, so much more detail in 1/35 than I've previously come across.
Some very interesting models there. Correct me if I am wrong but was the PzSA.Ia 5cm Pak 38 built on captured French armored ammo carriers or personnel carriers?
Thanks for the review Andy, really like to see the Uboot, the Lanchester and of course the Merkava built at some stage ( been a while since we have seen a IDF vehicle) Takom are knocking it out of the ball park atm with their detailing ( I have two V2 / Strabokran kits and the detailing is sublime if not downright frightening!) It’s a real shame you don’t ship to the UK be worth the wait....keep up the excellent work on your channel, proud to be a ‘Mediocre Modeller’ 🤙
Andy, do you have any advice on degreasing and priming photo etch before painting? Some people advise soaking in vinegar, or using a proprietary acid spray etch to establish a keying surface for paint. Thanks for any advice.
Another cool video Andy Hey buddy how is the tamiya paint situation the new german panzer colors ? I would probably get the Takom Merkava II ....digging that isreali Armor . FYI there are a few aftermarket metal barrels for Merkava's I have the academy Merkava IV , that is very cool. Anyway great videos Andy highlight of my week Keep going Andy i apperciate you and these vids!!!! 🇺🇸☺👌👌😆😆 Keep en going Andy!!!!
Andy great review. Could you build the Newport since I have never heard of Copper State Models? That way you can lend us your expertise on the company's product quality and those colorful instruction books.
Pity there is no anti-slip on that Merkava 2D. BTW: did you ever make a video of creating anti-slip surface on tanks and not losing the detail on them at that time (preferrably with making regular/nice anti-slip as seen on modern NATO vehicles ones + rough anti-slip as seen on israeli ones)?
With the 100 page information booklet, I wonder if it will be in English or German? It’s easier to print instructions in multiple languages, but printing multiple 100 page booklets would be a challenge.
Can you tell me where to get some metal tracks for my Tamiya Sturmgeschutz IV sdkfz 163? Do you have any in stock? I would like to buy them from your website.

I’m going to build it but my beard would be very gray lol
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters Yup, the same for me. 😆 Nevertheless, to borrow from a famous movie quote, "If you build it, it will grow.". 😆

@@scottkut6622 With dark moody music too. 😉😆 (IMHO, the original soundtrack to "Das Boot" is incredible!)
Hands down, I'm easily the most excited about the U-boat
You should watch Wolfpack345 Silent Hunter 3 videos on UTube.

The 432!!! Black and green BAOR style. I grew up with them whizzing around!!
Just preordered the U9 from Andy's link below. Can't wait to see his build video!
Those CSM kits really grabbed my attention. I’m glad you picked up the line.
Andy! These takom kits are beautiful! They make a beautiful kit!
that track building guide is genious

I'm definitely exited about the Copper State Models 1/32 Nieuport XVII, 1/48 Sopwith Dolphin and Caudron G.IV kits and the new Nieuport XXI kit.

Love your videos, you got me back to model building! Thanks
Glad to hear it!
Welcome to the hobby Lon !!!
I know there are going to be some very excited RC sub guys out there. I look forward to seeing it built and eventually on the pond
Outstanding review of the upcoming kits. The U-Boat will be a nice kit to add to my collection.
I just added a few more kits onto my "want" list !!!!!!! 👍👍
Same here! I'm going to be looking for them on my next trip to HobbyTown next week!

Where are the Fine Molds F-4EJ and F4EJ Kai ??? They are literally one of the most anticipated model kits!
I think that U9 would be an outstanding kit to build.

Hi Andy any news on the wing nut wings kits stuck in Canada. Thanks for another great video!!
Several Excellent looking kits. It would be hard to pick a favorite.
I can definitely go for the 1/16 Panzer 1 Ausf B, what a beauty
Great review Andy ! hope you and your loved ones are well. The WW 1 sub kind of made my heart beat faster ! Very Interesting !!! Until the next one, be safe ! Tony
Wow, Merkava's box are huge, like interior kits had. I preorder one in July, but didn't think that it will have so many parts. Nice!
Agree with other commenters, the U-boat looks very good
Thanks for yet another video Andy, keep up the good work!
Andy, getting GasPatch models would nicely complement your recent videos on WW1 aircraft. Their instructions look the same as wing nuts.
I just got a few of their 1/35 resin browning machine guns today, the look great.

The romfell goes together nicely .
The 1/16th Panzer IB looks like a good one to build.

Hi Andy! It would be interesting to build the Merkava, model looks astonishing. Thanks for news.

Some nice kits there. I am partial to the u-boat. Would be interesting if they did it in 1:35 scale, kinda big though
In 72nd scale it‘s still 80cm (31,5 Inch) long 😉
Wow, the Merkava Mk 2 looks amazing!!

Ordered the Lanchester and the Merkava along with one other kit off Andyshhq and should be here tomorrow. Waiting on the U9 to be released.
I would like to see one of those armored cars build.
Romfell Panzerwagen is perfect base for Steampunk Batmobile, just lose a turret, add more fins and maybe few stacked radial engines in the front :)
The Meng Merkava has the same ball and chain armor and it looks good, especially after putting a wash on them.
Love the stuff Das Werk puts out!
Those CSM kits are a revelation. Fancied doing a WWI armoured car for some time now. May just take a dip on a CSM kit.
Love all the kits Andy. Been through Arizona couple of times never knew you were there would have loved to come in shop gutted.
Build the U-boat Andy, looks like a great build.
I plan on it as soon as the sample comes in
Just checked out the CSM website. Lots of cool stuff available. Hope they sell well for ya!
Nieuport 17 in William "Billy" Bishops RFC marking would get my vote.
Holding out for the 1/48 WW1 U-Boat!
Andy, do you have any advice on degreasing and priming photo etch before painting? Some people advise soaking in vinegar, or using a proprietary acid spray etch to establish a keying surface for paint. Thanks for any advice.
You can use isopropyl alcohol or laquer thinner to degrease and a metal primer like vms metal prep or Mr. Metal primer for priming.
With the current year demise of Wingnut, I am interested in the Copper State kits to see if they compare favorably.
Great job. Looks like great stuff.
Definitely the Nieuports
Another cool video Andy

Looking forward to the U-boat. How big would that model be in 1/72?
Almost 1 meter!
Some great looking kits Andy but for me takom 1.16 panzer is for me looks great Steve 🇬🇧
My favorite is the u-boat but the Newport was close second.
I'm starting to get jazzed over the 1t16th light tanks. I have the Renault FT-17, but now I wast to build a shelf's worth of light tanks
U-Boat is putting a dent in wallet. Good looking kit.
Like the U boat that would be the one for me as it's a w w 1 one
1/72 U-boat!
Hi Andy, I'm in Holland, watching your vids. Great stuff!! Please do de Romfell panzerwagen. It looks amazing, steampunk almost.
Love what you do Andy, I've learned a ton, thanks. Awhile ago you mentioned a new Das Werk Stug III Aus G. What ever happened to that kit?
Andy great review. Could you build the Newport since I have never heard of Copper State Models? That way you can lend us your expertise on the company's product quality and those colorful instruction books.
I hope that Takom continues the 1/16th scale Panzer series all the way through with the 2.s 3.s and fours 4.s etc.
Hi Andy another great kit review, does the Merkava have the anti slip coating? Kepp safe and well, best regards to you and your family from Australia.

Neat lookin KITS Andy..👏🏻👏🏻🤗
I think if you could get that Merkava turret in 1/16 - would be a great start for a bash kit SciFi ship.
The 1/16 Panzer I Ausf. b looks great
Like the 1/32 for WW1 aircraft. I would be curious as to how long the U Boat is ?
Great review Andy. I like the U-9
Maybe I missed it, but I would have liked to hear the size of the U-boat model.
Any info about trumpeter’s 1/200 Scharnhorst and any upgrade sets for it. They just recently announced it on their website.
Never made a takom kit think i will pick one up now
Have you done a build of the pig model of the 1/1 scale german 8.8cm tiger 1 tank? And do you have them in stock?
Did they correct the ejector marks on the 1/16 scale panzer road wheels?
Thank You!
Raumer should have included a figure for scale
Armored car kits and the WW1 U-boat look the most interesting.
Non skid on the Merkava? Can't really tell from the video. Oh, and it would seem like the machine gun barrels are not slide molded, right?
Nice one!
I hope someone buys the tooling for the Wingnut Wings kits.
Thank you for ruining my day(!)... I'd no idea they were in trouble! :( Sad news indeed!
The panzer 1 is very nice
Great video as usual 😀
That’s a huge box for the Merkava. Is it a full interior? Would like to see that one built. 🇨🇦
Nope,no interior……
I rely want to see you build the sub! Maybe in a diorama?!!!
Is it possible to buy the zimmerit set for the das werk panther? I would like to buy both the panther and the zimmerit from you.
With the 100 page information booklet, I wonder if it will be in English or German? It’s easier to print instructions in multiple languages, but printing multiple 100 page booklets would be a challenge.
Hey Andy could you possibly post one of those Copper State Instruction books to Dragon Models ? ! 😂
Can you tell me where to get some metal tracks for my Tamiya Sturmgeschutz IV sdkfz 163? Do you have any in stock? I would like to buy them from your website.
I have never built a submarine but I would love to do that one.
you could scratchbuild a spaceship out of that merkava
I was thinking turn the Raumer into a four-legged walker and put that turret atop it.
Please build the 1/72 German mine sweepers, miss the smaller scales.
Andy are you considering a U-boat vignette?
