- Honda ATC 200x Build - Part 6 - Rebuild (videos coming fast so subscribe to keep notified). In this video we will be disassembling the front forks to get them ready for cleaning and polishing. We will be inserting the forks back into the triple trees (steering stem, top fork bridge) so we will be able to easily crack the fork tube caps. Then we will be removing all of the adjusters, oil, springs, seals, and crush washers, circlips, snap rings, clamps, brackets, and rubber grommets. Last we will replace the old shock oil with new fresh shock oil. Rebuilding the front forks / shocks.

@@lvdlf9908 I'm trying! The shop still has my crank and cylinder so my hands are tied at the moment! Sucks - I'm ready to Git-R-Done!
@@11GalleryATV Oh okay thanks man hope you’re trike comes out nice 👍🏽
@@lvdlf9908 Thank you sir! ... and yours, as well!

I have a 250 SX I’m working on, but it has the 200 X triple trees and shocks. I am also in Mesa and North Phoenix area.
\m/…(>.
Great video man, has really helped as a reference while I rebuilt my 83 forks!
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
Great video!👍🏼 Gonna go my 85 200x this week! Thanks
Thank you! Good luck with you're 200x
I didn’t know Frank Gallagher was into 3 wheelers .
I can see the resemblance …
I must get a 200x this year. I would love to rebuild one.
I got a 200x shortly after this comment it's pretty rough but I've already done a lot to it. Shortly after that my dad gave me the 200x from my childhood that sat in a shed for 15 years after I stopped Riding it. It is in pretty fantastic condition.
Good job, I think I can do this
One thing to mention is try not to gouge the piston cylinder surface or the seals won’t work properly
cool video amigo
Thanks!
Late to reply however, when I'm rebuilding hydrolic cylinders and air valves etc on heavy equipment and tractor trailers. I've found that the hydraulic shop I use has matched up everything I've brought them-ive rebuilt alot of obsolete stuff and they've got me something to work with even going as far as throwing in seals +/- a few thousands just to be safe on the house. Just a though if you get in a jam on seals and such
Thank you … I will definitely keep that in mind if I need seals etc.
Your tool list didn't include your snap ring pliers. As I I am interested in them.
I have added to the description - here is the link - 4-Piece Snap Ring Pliers Set - amzn.to/32mmN0l
Good afternoon, I am from Mexico, I would like to know the number of the bar retainers, what measurements would they be?
If you are talking about the handlebar clamps, they are about 6.3 inches outside and 4.4 inches inside ...
Hey bud where did you get your red stator plug and red timing plug at I would like to purchase them for mine doing a frame up custom restoration on a 1986 200x thanks my friend leaving New things from you love it brother keep up the good work
400ex engine plugs fit ... search eBay for that
Thanks bud your the best love your videos very knowledgeable
How much air pressure are you supposed to put in each Fork
None! They are just a release valves for when pressure builds up.
That's what I thought... but I saw website or a bunch of people were talking about 10 and 15 psi in the front forks so it mixed me up
@@UNLOCKEDANDOVERCLOCK That was an 80's thing ... it is better for your seals to adjust the forks with the springs and oil. That's why the more modern forks don't have Schrader valves anymore and only "bleeders".
We used to add air temporarily if we knew we were going to be doing some big jumps!
Have you had to adjust your rebound? Or do you know how to on these trikes?
I set mine up when I built them ... the fronts are adjusted by fork oil weight (I used 7.5 weight) and the springs (I used the stock but you can upgrade to stiffer springs). The rear has a clicker on it but I never adjusted it and my spring is aftermarket because it has more coils than stock (got it his way). The ride happens to be perfect for me so I never had to adjust anything ...
@39:55 Rofl😂😂😂
I noticed on Facebook you said you’re in phx, I’m in el mirage, Do you work on just your own I’m looking for someone to work on my bike
I do some work (depends what it is and on what) by appointment only ... check 11gallery.com for contact information. I am a one man show at the moment so time is scarce.
@@11GalleryATV cool I’ll give you a call in a couple days, I have an 85 200x
Where do you find your parts at?
Facebook groups, eBay, google
www.motosport.com/oem-parts/honda/1986/atc200x
www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/1986/atc200x-a
Hope this works ...
ATC 200X 83 to 85 7.8 inches or 198mm oil height with the fork compressed.
I don't really want to hunt through a 50 minute video for the information im looking for. My front forks on an 82 185s are totally blown, where did you get the seal kit and what size is it?
The seal kit is OEM Honda and I got it here (#19 in the diagram) - www.motosport.com/oem-parts/honda/1986/atc200x/front-fork -- Here is the same part # with a photo - www.partzilla.com/product/honda/51490-473-305
The shock oil I got here (and the rear shock rebuild kit) - www.schmidtyracing.com/Lucas-Synthetic-Shock-Oil-p/lo.htm
