    UPDATE: This mall isn't even cold yet, and already, demolition plans have already been announced for October.

    Looked like a beautiful day in Florida. I haven't been there since the 90s. I'm currently isolated up here in Alaska. Thank you for being a connection to the outside world

    Here is another example of keeping a mall going that would have been long gone in most areas. Glad you did a second lap around this one. It looks like some work has been done to the Sears interior, maybe it will be reopened as a new business soon.

    Do you realize how many NASA astronauts and employees have walked on these floors since the 1960s? For that reason alone, this mall should be placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

    I don't know how I came across this but I've lived in Titusville my whole life and spent a lot of time in that mall. "Titusville...more like Tight Ass" Lmao 🤣 I haven't heard anyone say that in a long time.

    I like the mall too, alot. Some really good memories of going there with my family and the movie theater. I am sad to read that it may be demolished soon. Thanks for the video.

    Mall is still around. Valentino's has been there for YEARS! Used to go to the movie theater all the time - it has been there since the 60s. Sadly it closed down in mid-2021.

    Ah, nothing quite like walking around outdoors with the burning sun and high humidity while trying to dodge bugs and breaking a sweat just going from one store to another.

    How coincidental that in 1967 my local mall, starting with the Sears, Woolworth, Bradlees, and was called.....Searstown Mall. Long before Sears went away (just before the pandemic was official), in the early Aughts, the mall was renamed "The Mall at Whitney Field". It's a dying mall, and still hanging on. At least the Sears space hosts Spirit Halloween once a year.

    Consider my area in Seminole County. We have the Altamonte Mall (busy), the Seminole Town Center (so so since it lost Macy’s), and the Oviedo Mall (dead).

    • @Flamingbro69
      @Flamingbro69 Рік тому

      I’ve frequented all three malls since I got to College last fall. Altamonte is still doing well, STC is approaching life support with the loss of various tenants since Kohan bought the place and Oviedo has seen some neat repurposing with a good chunk of the tenants being used for recreation.

    If you ever visit the Gulf Coast of Florida, right under Tampa there are 2 dead malls. Desoto Square Mall and Sarasota Square Mall.

    Typical mid-market suburban mall. Days gone by; these are taking their place in history alongside the general store and the smaller grocery stores. I saw what looked like an old Rexall or other drugstore (high walls with small windows next to the sliding glass entrance to the common area).

    Why did the Searstown Mall changed it’s name in 2018 to Titusville Mall. In 2020, during the lockdown of the pandemic, the malls closed in March 2020, but than reopened in Summer 2020.
