A variable resistance rope pulley that attaches to a squat rack. Yowza.
The Torque Fitness Endless Rope Trainer is designed to simulate rope climbs and rope pulls, but uses variable resistance and requires hardly any setup time. For a home gym, the ability to quickly set it up and get to your workout is essential to it actually getting used.
There's a lot to like about the Endless Rope Trainer, but the downfall as we discuss is the price. For many, it will be simply too expensive. Let's review...

The way to build the best home gym on a budget is to build a popular youtube channel about gym equipment reviewing & the top brands will send you tons of free equipment.
I was really looking for ward to this but the price is just insane for some rope. I think I can speak for all of us here. You can get 500lbs + of plates for that
I'm the exact same way. I want it to be less so bad because it is REALLY good. It's just so costly.
@Houseof theBear He’s not a sellout at all!
I actually appreciate him showing varying types of equipment regardless of price (cheap/expensive). Even if you can’t afford it, someone else can, and now there’s a video to help them decide if they should buy.
For me personally, I find these videos entertaining. It’s nice to know what’s out there.
Before the pandemic u could of bought a power rack with high low pulley system with a 100kg weight stack and bench for 600 lol
@Houseof theBear his job is reviewing equipment. Should he not review things if they’re expensive?
@Houseof theBear he’s reviewing garage gym equipment. This isn’t something a commercial gym would have. Read the name of the channel...
Seems like a nice piece, but for basically $1200 after shipping and taxes, that's kinda steep.
So confusing Americans add taxes on after
@@girlsdrinkfeck Unfortunately yeah, and it varies state by state which just adds to the confusion. What's worse is some purchase categories have the taxes baked into the price due to specialized taxes on things like movie theatres, skating rinks, etc that STILL have sales tax on top.
@@TheModernwarfare96 oh in UK taxes have to be on the shelf price label by law. So what u see is what u pay
One of the best advantages of being a New Hampshire resident...no sales tax. But shipping is damn expensive.
Lmfaoo, my god. 1200-1300 shipped with taxes. There goes the market for it.
Free shipping! Lol
Pretty sure this is basically for physio therapists and elderly people young fit people can just buy a rope for like 30 bucks
Agreed, ridiculous. They got greedy!
Buy a used commercial Marpos rope trainer for 300-500
@@kevinmoran4164 makes me laugh when free shipping is a privilege in America. UK is so compact most things has free delivery if u spend like over 50 quid
me: "this looks like it's gonna be expensive, probably over 200....wtf, nope im out"
Lol these are going to be wayyyyy more than 200
Having this attached to a trolley system on an upright would be awesome and make it even more versatile
Yep, that would be awesome. May try and figure something out.
This looks awesome. But ohhhh that price tag :( Would be awesome if you could compare some more budget friendly alternatives
There is a german rope Trainer.
Revvll Pro. 700 eur
I've seen other reviewers who have experienced the same problem with the rope separation and quick fraying. If they fix the rope quality issue, I'm in.
I want that so bad. We use to have one at our local gym. They’re so good. I can always feel it
If the resistance can be expanded up to 300/400 lbs and finely tuned, then I can see a potential for endless rope climbs without having to leave the ground no more than 2 or 3 feet off the ground.
Saw a Torque ad for this yesterday and was hoping for a review soon. Thanks Coop. Right on time.
We just put this on one of our Rogue racks - for the horizontal pulling we use the Rogue monster plate storage pin with Acetal covering and it is super smooth (and I assume will be less wear and tear on the rope over time). Thanks for the video - it saved me lots of time with the installation.
Coop is the the Jay Leno of function equipment.
Coop: "Budget home gym owner, absolutely avoid this"
Titan Fitness: **HOLD MY BEER**
🤣🤣🤣
We have one at the gym at my Uni gym. Older though, it’s on a spool that has resistance that increases as you pull harder
Really Coop!? Make me fall in love with it and then just break my heart with that insane price. 😔
Awesome video Coop, I was just looking at this yesterday and was wondering if anyone had experience with it. Glad I didn’t post this in the group before checking my notifications
Just ordered one, they are out of stock at the moment but if you add your name to the notification list a sales rep might reach out to you with a discount. I also learned that the rope is not tied to the unit's functionality so you could replace it with another one of the same diameter if it's outside of the 1-year warrant. Just not sure how easy it is to find a rope like that which is a full circle and not a "battle rope". In any case I'm pumped, if I wear out the rope in the first year I'll know I'm using it to its full potential.
Imagine using this same idea but for a cable pulley instead, mount 2 on each side of rack for flyes etc THEN we can consider the $1300 price point 👏👏👏
@@TheChicken this chickens have spoken coop 💪💪💪
@@ChickenBrawl *the
I'd like that! May give it a try.
@@GarageGymReviews let us know coop!
this was absolutely GREAT thanks...Yep I’ve ordered one in Australia, excited... Home gym doesn’t have the height for actual rope climb. Price .. sure its steep.. but Torque’s quality is outstanding.. it’s definitely gold standard equipment .. I also have the M4 tank so I know this will last probably a couple of life times
Mentioned this on the IG post. For the price you can pick up the tank and the wall hanger and still have money leftover for chipotle😂
And still have a nice savings after
This really looks like epic gear to add to the home gym. But at this price is way up in space. I would go for it at 350 USD, but the gap is too wide for the manufacturer to even consider if there is any point to drop the price even a bit because it would not make any difference for the mass buyer. Still a great contraption!
Think it's outside most garage gym owners budgets. Could get a new rack for the cost.
I’m watching this years later because I’m shopping through a sale and saw one of these bad boys - so I came to this vid to see what it did. $1,600 CAD! So after a few years they clearly haven’t sensibly priced it. Thanks for the vid - I’ll be grabbing one if I come across it in a garage sale decades from now
I would love it if this supported other rope sizes. I sail a lot and being able to work with a smaller diameter line comparable to what you'd find on a sailboat would be awesome.
Coop I love you’re videos but can you start doing more reviews on stuff that’s actually home gym friendly and maybe more DIY projects. I read the comments on every post and everyone always seems to say it too expensive and most of us can’t afford gym equipment that cost over 1,000$
If it was in the $300-$400 range that would be pretty decent. But at the price that it is...GTFO here. It's a rope lol.
Pshh I’d pay no more than $150-200
There is s german rope Trainer. Revvll pro. Must be 600-700 eur
Awesome Coop. I've purchased three items because I saw it on your channel. I'll wait to buy this.
I park 2 cars in my garage, so something like this mounted to the wall would be great, but not at that price.
Excellent review! Wow so glad you have a review on this. I got the notice about it the other day and was really intrigued.
I know Titan has a rack mounted one that hasn't been in stock for an eternity
If you're on Titan's e-mail list they send an update everyday on what is back in stock. If this gets enough buzz it is only a matter of time. $1200 bucks is a lot of cash for this. I'd be patient and wait for Titan to restock.
The problem is it isn't variable resistance. I've used it and others and it's okay, but completely different in use.
@@GarageGymReviews Could be true but then again if there is enough buzz Titan may come out with a new version sometime in the next year or so at a lower price point and "always free shipping." It looks like a cool toy to add to my gym but a figure I can be a bit patient and give Titan a year to come up with something and save myself somewhere between $600 and $800. Any way around I still love the review channel. Keep up the good work Coop.
@@GarageGymReviews You have a point, but using magnetic resistance they should be able to use a knob and have at least 10 to 20 resistance levels. 4 isnt much variety.
@@noahblevins9569 agreed, except using magnetic resistance and a knob, they could have infinite resistance between A and Z. Don't understand 4 at all.
I have never been a fan of equipment in which measuring progress is not possible. How do you know if you're getting better? I like to see numbers. That's just me, I'm pretty old school when it comes to training.
I've always been interested in one of these. Thanks Coop.
Is it really that versatile? It’s a rope for pulling. The ability to pull in multiple directions is cool but still essentially the same exercise.
Different directions means it's a different exercise. That's just like saying all dumbbell exercises are essentially the same exercise.
@@spiffleable That is true, but without the ability to move it quickly to change angles, or a second pulley (coop used a band peg) it really isnt that versatile.
The dumbells would be the better investment. They could have at least secured it with a pin to make it way easier to move instead of just bolting it to the rack in a fixed position.
@@noahblevins9569 What do you mean to move it quickly ?
@@spiffleable Agree 100% Thats as dumb as saying a barbell is only used for flexion and extension so not versatile !!
Bottom line most people would get one if the price was right.
The price is the problem for most.
@@vodoo5553 not having to remove a bolt etc. Fast enough to move to the next angle wirhout muscles losing pump
I will absolutely get this piece of equipment...if I had a rack...and if my boss agrees to double my salary!
$1100! What!?!?! I know they ask $1500 to $2000 for revvll and Marpo compact units but those aren't widely popular likely because of the price point. That thing better do the dishes or something else too
Anyone know where to get those 5/8 to 1 inch adaptors from that were shown in this vid? Thanks in advance!
@1.24 do we see some bowflex adjustable Dumbells? Time for the long awaited garage gym adjustable dumbell mega comparison video!
Do they sell those 1″ to 5/8″ cylinders individually? @ 5:20
Where can i get some of those spacer for a 5/8 pin for a 1 inch hole
Yeah those 5/8 to 1’ adapters would be a game changer...where does one find these Coop?
Great question. I wonder if a shaft adapter could be used....🤷🏾♂️ they have plenty on amazon.
Also wondering this
Ya if we could get a link to that it would be awesome!!
@@dustintoll777 the link in description!? Where is it 🤣
My set up. A few breezeblocks and rope from Home Depot. $30 boom. Saved over a grand. Mic dropped!
This would cost more than the Rep rack it’s mounted to
You can buy 4 titan racks with the price 😂
You could feasibly make one of those out of an old cycling turbo trainer. Just add a flanged wheel that's bolted onto the flywheel and weld it to a frame. The only problem I can see is finding or making a looped rope that thick without a join in the middle.
Nice love endless ropes but I am not a fan of compact models personally because of no display. I like my Marpo unit because of the display keeps you honest but the floor space isn't for most people.
Yeah, I’d love to see one with an app to display metrics.
@@GarageGymReviews Exactly! No need to event the wheel just include a speed sensor and Bluetooth transmitter. BTW please review the Havak adjustable Triads I haven't seen a single in-depth break down review
"My videographer"... This is when you know you're a big league UA-camr!!
Excited for this and I’m hooking it to my savage series storage rack just like you! My rope trainer delivers tomorrow. I don’t think price is crazy if it last 10+ years 🤩🤩
That’s a good point I’m curious to see what the rope will look like
You called it. I was really excited for this piece of equipment but the price tag killed it. If they could cut that number in half or if a competitor could I’d be all for it. But that price could buy so many other things for my gym.
As far as tge bracket is concerned and the way the machine attaches...they should have made tge bracket with rails so the machine can just slide right in once the bracket it mounted...either from the side or from top to bottom and have it lock it so it can be easily moved...and they can sell additional brackets so its even more portable around your gym
I love my Torque M4 tank, and it was worth every penny at $1600 for its versatility; using it as a rope pulley as well. While I love the idea for this . . . ya I agree for $1200 not worth it.
But size vs versatility makes it better. I had that same tank and it took up a lot of garage space. This virtually none as it hangs from rack. Great for finishers biceps, triceps, back and keeping heart rate up without leaving gym.
They have one of these at my gym. It's pretty awesome.
Make a review for the torgue rings 💪
Coop just made my case that the kettlebell is absolutely the most ideal piece of home gym equipment: maximum versatility and minimum footprint. Thanks Coop!
COOP Please please please do 1000lb rated leg press comparison. Powertec vs bodycraft f660 vs Force USA Monster or similar. I am in the market and don't think I have bought anything yet without considering your opinions haha but you don't have any leg press reviews yet! I am lost without you
Bro I can just grab my mother in law by the hand and drag her around the garage gym for freel, I will definitely get a better workout than this .
A DIY modification to the exer-genie would be cheaper and pretty good for an endless rope trainer.
This looks like an amazing upper body warmup piece for any kind of lifter.
Any advice on this torque rope trainer vs Marpo X8? Any feedback would be great
Looks awesome, but I have been enjoying my revvll one endless rope. For about half the price.
Thanks for this! How’s the resistance on the Revvll?
@@chronicpatriot740 awesome!
Hi Chase, your comment is nearly a year old now. Have you had any issues with yours? How often do you use it? I have read where the rope can snap where the blue marker is located?
For that you could get a Rep rack, bar , plates and cheap bench from Amazon.
I hope a company starts selling adapter sleeves for 5/8 hardward to be used on 1" racks instead of just including them in some products. I'd be nice to have both types of racks with only 1 set of accessories.
Another great video.
Have you heard of the henny leg attachment?
How does this compare to the cheaper Revell rope trainer? half the price for starters
Carnival Mardi Gras gym has this or something essentially the same. I liked it. Did some sets of like 50 fast pulls, and it got really tiring.
Literally listed the pros and cons I had in my head. Been trying to find an endless rope pulling machine at a better price, hard to find these at quality and I enjoy rope pulling. Have you found another one more economical?
I just finished mounting this on my Rogue Monster LITE. I did however have to drill one hole for the plate to line up. IT’S IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Their mounting plate only lines up for the MONSTER SERIES or like SORINEX (anything with the 1inch hardware spacing.
Damn, that is a cool piece. But man, that's more expensive than I predicted even after I raised my original prediction a couple hundred dollars after you said, "You need to sit down before you hear the price." Lol
I want you try the gladiator wall drum pulley and see how…. It’s cheaper
Anyone know where to get the 1" to 5/8" converter cylinders mentioned in this video?
So I did buy this and the Rope is not very good I have had it for about 5 days and used it maybe a total of 60-70 min total. The rope is starting fray pretty bad. I have emailed Torque fitness but have not heard back from them. But besides the rope I really like it. The resistance is pretty tough.
Yeah...stopped watching when the price came up, lol. So many other pieces I could spend that kind of cash on for the gym. Looked good up to that point.
Triggered that you just didn’t put the spacers on the bolts and slide them in from the front instead of shagging around with putting them in the back haha.
Find a way to mount it to a adjustable jammer arm quickly and lock the arm in, and then you can slide it up and down to any height eg: do rope pulls sitting on the floor.
I know you did it off the pins but dunno if the rope would hold up over time?
Do a review on the titan lat pulldown please!!
Just realised I've been watching lots of ur vids for months and haven't subscribed yet. 😑😑 my bad...
What's the cheap option to this?
45lb plates strapped to a 1ton chain fall lol, 1min and your triceps and back are on fire
If it has a 10 year warranty and included a lower pulley.. Then it's not a bad price for a commercial gym.. No matter how good that rope is, it will wear out and as soon as you have a bit of a tear in that rope it will get hung up in the pulleys.. So I think they have priced in replacing the rope a few times for each unit during the warranty
So doesn't this do less than the exergenie in most applications, take up more space and cost four times as much? Review the exergenie Coop! There's your versatility/floor space sweet spot.
Wait, what lat pull down machine is that for $1k?
Might as well buy a tonal
I love rope pulling to help stretch my shore muscles in order to maintain my flexibility. If I wasn't so poor I would own one of these as well as a lot of things I need or just simply use!
Bi-directional.... Basement Brandon would’ve made a good joke. However Coop doesn’t live in the basement.
Cool piece- I’d rather have a ski erg though if I had to pick.
Ski Erg is around the same price, less versatile and much bigger footprint if you use the floor stand
How did you prop up your lever arms like that? Do you have a video showing how you did that?
The idea is great, the price is GREAT! too, lol.
Either way, the video deserves the 👍 :)
Could just use a normal rope and weight, do the negative or just drop the weight before the negative, I'm not so convinced about positive only training anyway
Nice review Coop 🔥
Imagine walking out to your garage and having to decide which squat rack you’re gonna use.
Every judoka, wrestler and jiujitsu guy. Should have one of these
Titan will magically have one of these available by the end of the year for around 600$
Does this have to be mounted to the very top of a rack? I have low ceilings and would be able to do many of the exercises you demonstrated from a seated position, but I don't have much clearance overhead.
The very best piece of home gym equipment by far is the one you'll actually use.
I know a masonry crew that will let you do all the rope pulls (bricks and mortar up a 4 story scaffolding) you want for free with their equipment
A'm looking for a multi hip machine with a small foot print preferable using free weights body solid uses to build one that's what I'm looking for
This should do the trick for training for a serious round of tug of war.
Yeah that isn't really a home gym friendly price. I was thinking a bunch lower. At that point you could have so many other prices of equipment that might take up more space but in all have so much more versatility.
Price ended it for me. This thing should be around $400 max. I can buy a magnetic resistance wheel for $85 and get a rope and some pulleys if I wanted to make one of these for under $200.
My gym has one of these. I'd like it better if it had negative resistance. Hopefully MSRP is not ARP.
I want it so bad, and it would be great for training arm wrestling but is so expensive
Is this a Good piece of equipment to help burn calories. 15 mins 4 days a week in 40 second intervals? Thanks.
More than a Concept2 shipped, give me a break. Let's be honest, it's a specialty item that you could use to work into a cardio circuit to make it a bit more interesting. Nobody is going to use that a s a foundation piece of equipment. What they should have done is reworked their sled so you could remove the resistance piece, quick attach it to the wall and sell you a rope for $100 and at least had something with more versatility for the price. If they were really smart, they would then release different uses for the expensive magnetic piece like a bike frame, rower frame and whatever. Niche isn't good, versatility is.
Obviously expensive, if they added some accessories like pullies for direction changes would make it more appealing.
i built a homemade weight sled with an old trailer tire, left over wood, and some crane straps. All of these were free lol
