- On April 29, 1992, Michael Eisner was given a gold medal by the International Radio and Television Society at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, with Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford hosting. The entertainment for the evening was a performance of "Beauty and the Beast: The Magic of the Music". It starred original "Beauty and the Beast" voices Paige O'Hara and Jerry Orbach, plus Lea Salonga from the then-upcoming "Aladdin". Filling out the cast were four performers from Walt Disney World: Andrea Canny, Darin De Paul, Galen Fott, and Paula Pell.
I was today year old that it finally clicked that Jerry Orbach is Lumiere.
Jerry Orbach is a legend!
introduced the film to my kids last night and was remembering how much i like Lumiere. today checked who did the voice .... Jerry Orbach did an amazing job!
Nicole Adams Amen. Jerry Orbach and Ewan McGregor are better than those weird and crazy American voice actors Maurice LaMarche and Jeff Bennett.
SAME
Thank you for posting, proof to my daughter (now 20) that Jerry Orbach sang this song.
Thank you for posting this. This was fantastic. And great to see the legendary Jerry Orbach sing this song live. If he were still alive today, he would've felt honored to have seen how far this movie has come, how legendary it is, how much of an impact it's had on the world in years.
This is so amazing. I love and truly miss jerry orbach. He is the best. Loved him in beauty and the beast law and order dirty dancing and more.
Beautiful! Except Angela Lansbury was Mrs. Potts and always will be Mrs. Potts to me.
This whole performance was superb. However, I wish modern performances all began with such a warmth of music. 👍
21:29 Two years before the Broadway musical. Even though some of the other OBC members have passed away, I think there should be a Broadway reunion concert with the OBC Cast with some replacements (Patrick Page should play Lumiére), and have the “Winter turns to spring verse…” sung by a surprise entrance by Paige O’Hara before transitioning to the brief reprise of “If I Can’t Love Her” and the final chorus (with all of the Broadway cast members from 1994 to 2007, even the NETworks Tour and the UK Tour w/ Courtney Stapleton) with Paige and Susan joining in at 21:43
I like the part when Paige (Belle) does the introduction to the audience.
Wow! Jerry in Be our guest! Just wow!
I love Paige. If I were a broadway star or a singer, I would make up and write the song before performing in front of the audience.
Thank you so much!!!, This movie and their actors means the world to me 💕⚘
Who sang Alladin's Part?
Galen Fott. He posted the video and runs the account!
Am I wrong or is O'Hara singing in an entirely different key in the Belle reprise than she is in the movie?
Her voice sounds so much lower.
Yeah, she does sound different from the start
@@Hopefulgeek Well that was because she messed up the timing and had to catch up to the music. But we won't hold that against her.
It's the exact same key from the movie
@@cbismarck07 Maybe key is the wrong word, her voice just sounds fuller/lower.
Watch Disney will get rid of lumiere next .
