    Ok so you've put at least three of these on YT and said you want help if needed. So here it comes. I am a level 3 cert PSIA and a certified USSA race coach I say this only to state my qualifications and I prefer to make pure carved turns at all times unless terrain or conditions dictate something else. Lets start with this, you are a very good skier and get some very good angles. Here is what you need to do to improve short of getting a good lesson from a level III instructor , which is what you REALLY should do, level IIs in general are not good enough for what you need, actually you ski at( least in this environment about to a level II). What to do 1. You have to move forward so that your shins are in contact with the tongues of your boots ( pressing harder at the beginning of the turn and less at the end but not losing contact) you are a little in the back seat all the time. As you progress through the turn your weight should start on the balls of your feet and move gradually toward the rear so it feels like your weight is centered with a slight bias toward the heel, ball-centered-center heel. but your shins should never leave the boot tongue. Obviously things will happen that cause you to momentarily lose this contact but this is your "goal". What you are doing is adjusting the tip, center and tail pressure as you move through the turn by pressuring the boot tongue and adjusting to the pressure of the turn itself. 2. You are rotating on every pole plant which puts you back and onto your uphill ski which is why you sometimes get stuck as you did in this vid and why you fell in the one at Heavenly. Your hand should NOT move forward toward your ski tip or cross over your downhill ski to plant your pole. Touch/plant your pole out in the direction of the turn using your wrist, not to the front as you are doing now. This will set you up perfectly to start your next turn. You also tend to have too much lead on your uphill ski I think this is from the things I have previously mentioned. Ideally everything should line up tips, knees, hips, shoulders should all be lined up the same so the angle of your shoulders to the turn would match your tips. Watch the racers you will see it there. I won't go on from here as it can get very detailed and I have already written a short book. I would recommend you go to to places in you tube where you can get some great drills and visuals of what you should be doing and then compare to what video you have of yourself being able to see yourself is so valuable you should kiss the person who does the video for you. Here is where you go "Burke Mountain Academy, Mikaela Shifferin" Mikaela narrates 13 different drills which will help you immensely. Then go to her other youtube videos and watch them she may be the best skier in the world man or woman. Another good one is Reilly McGlashin he is one of the best instructors in the world watch him see how he plants his poles look at his balance etc you can learn a lot by emulating these two. Good luck! and get forward😄 also as Pllinio said you should widen your stance a little but different top skiers from different countries do it a little differently I say just look at the top racers like Mikaela, Marcel Hirscher, Ted Ligety, Tina Maze copy them. You will see their poles flailing around a little bit but thats to counteract what is going on at 50+ mph on icy bumpy courses.

      Thank you Mike for your comment. I am not sure that I was asking for help :) but I am totally agree with you. I am in the back seat. The slope is really easy so I do not have to control the speed and that’s why I am trying to get the best carve on my skis from the beginning till the end of the turn :) this is the biggest fun I can get from my skis. And the moment when I change the turn fells like I am flying , skis loose contact with the snow:) and that I can get only when I am little on my back seat... thanks once again for your lesson. I hope I will make another video on the more difficult slope this winter and you will see the difference between this type of skiing and the one you are writing. Best regards

      Try what I was saying about keeping your shins lightly tongue of your boots even on shallow terrain you will actually go faster, and your skis will be quicker. But if you just have more fun being in the back seat then do it since fun is supposed to be what it is all about. 😄 think Snow!

      also bit more rotational separation needed in my opinion

      Agree withe mike d's comments. Also, a little too much up and down motion in the transition -- no need to stand up - retracting legs will lead to faster speed with more control

    Upper body needs to move forward-hips need to move more inside the turn and shoulders out-shins need to build forward pressure on boots-skis should be a little wider-skis need to be almost parallel when turning so also the hips do not rotate but are parallel to tips of the skis-external leg should almost have no flex at all

    • @evanthomas-richards1902
      @evanthomas-richards1902 6 років тому

      If he moves his hips even farther inside the turn and totally straightens (has no flex in) his outside leg he's going to be sliding on his ass in half a turn. Listen to the PSIA/USSA guy instead, he knows what's up.

      Well Evan, just have a look at the Alpine ski World Cup guys while doing Gs. When they reach certain angles of inclination they must throw the hips well inside the turn otherwise they lose the grip of the edge.
      The golden rule rule is: hips inside the turn and shoulders out 😉

      To są World Cup iSL. To takiego skrętu i stylu na nic innego nie chce zmienić. Ale lubię tez pojechać na narcie promień Ok 180 i promień 18. W przyszłym sezonie wrzucę filmik z ta narta. Co do i rally to polecam iSpeed Super Shape. Fajna uniwersalna narta do dłuższych , krótszych skrętów. Tak naprawdę wszystko zależy od umiejętności. Nie sztuka kupić nartę z najwyższej Polki tylko później trzeba nad nią zapanować i nie męczyć się na niej :) pozdrawiam

      Іvan Іvan Это слишком высоко стоит над лыжей и часто отсаживается на зад в конце поворота, за что раз чуть не поплатился..(2.25 min). Эта же ошибка не позволяет ему сделать опережающее движение корпуса в новый поворот (toppling).. Но вообщем ноги работают и режет очень неплохо для любителя! Либо бывший спортсмен)
