This is it. Perfect addition to stock heading I think. I'm going to add alpine 6.5 speakers to doors to match up and this should make a great system for quality.
I'm going to put one under or behind my Dodge 1979 Power Wagon, W-150 beach seat. I'm thankful for you review. No need for a deck and seeing it in use with the app and in the vehicle sold me enough. Because you explained the amp more, now I am excited to buy tweeters for the dash and 6x9s in the doors.
Sounds like a great idea for a classic car or someone that just wants a little more without having to mess with the factory radio. For about the same price you could run a key and a separate sub though
Exactly!! I just got a CT200h and it has the “Premium Stereo”. Yes it is an upgrade from the Base but the crossovers are near non existent so all of the cheap speakers are way outside of there useable fq range. The sub volume tapers off as you tune it up so at whisper levels it’s boomy and at moderate, not loud because of the distortion, 120hz and below are gone. So this with the 4 channels running the dash speakers active would kill without killing battery range!!
I actually purchased one because of this review. I have small Yaris IA for as my work commuter and since it's small I didn't want go crazy with a big system and after fiddling with this product I got it sound great and I ended changing the factory speakers with alpine type S 6.5. it's wasn't alpines fault it was mostly Mazdas fault but it wasn't the easiest to EQ since the factory system has a built in EQ curve for the factory speakers. So you kinda have to compensate and take a give away in the EQ what the factory curve gives and takes away. But that's what's great about this product. The DSP.
25w x 4 for speakers isn't a lot.... and its 165w subwoofer.... i mean, pretty much every factory radio features that much power these days. kinda doesn't make sense as a product. I think these companies need to rethink their ideas. If you are gonna make something like this, it should feature at least a 200w subwoofer, and then 50w to 75w for four speakers... that makes more sense to me....
for any old car without bluetooth or sub its usefull... but most stock mercedes systems sound alright stock but often speakers are dead/broken and oem radio sucks.
It's alpine on and amp dyno I bet it puts out 35w x4 furthermore all factory radios says that but usually put out 10 most aftermarket head units don't put out 25×4
Guys let me point out something. The product worth it for someone that want to have everything in one but doesn’t look for blow the neighborhood of craziness. 25W for every channel is a decent power for a regular use of a car radio. We get processor and Sub with Amp. Is a good package in my opinion.
Hey, how is the low level bass on it? I have bought 2 device like this.. infinty minibass and the sound ordnance.. both have hollow bass and are disappointed.
@@adrianmalcolm255 i am not an expert. But. Reduced the bass to 0 in my front speakers and the difference is huge. At the begining I was disappointed by the bass level. The bass was shallow. Now it is deep and soft. I am not a huge fun of fat bass, rather a gentle playing.
that's an overwhelming number of levers and switches. it'd be great if it just comes with a microphone that you can position where you sit and it automatically set all those levers and switches.
Can the amplifier in the PWD-X5 drive 2ohm/3 ohm speakers? I have asking this question to the Dutch distributor. They say the pwd-x5 can not handeling 2ohm loudspeakers because ther is not enough iformation. I want this because I have loudspeaker from the brand blam audio and they are 2ohm.
Great video guys, surprised, to see yall surprised, must've had a bit of bass ,and good highs, Fernando to each there own ,on the small sub,in your car.Not me im going on fifty, and still run two high power subs!!! Thumbs-up 👍
great review as always and very interesting device.. but why they need to separate the bluetooth instead of integrated on the device itself, it is only small module..
If I listen carefully then has the alpine more preferred settings for when you are in the car with more people. The kicker key 180.4 has the option to set its own dsp.
I love...loveeee this idea. But this is not 480$. If it costs more than 100$ to manufacture I'd be surprised. The dsp doesn't matter when you're only getting 25x4. It's a solid 199$ unit max.
If you use the high level inputs, do you need to use all 4 channels? My rear speakers are set at -8 dB and can hardly be heard from the factory head unit. The front speakers sound good and are receiving a full range signal down to 40Hz.
Looking at putting on in my Abarth, and keep the 7" factory head unit. I think it will be quite impressive in such a small car. Was thinking of running it with the factory speakers first then if i want more swap out the front and run it active. Any suggestions on some (ideally Alpine) 6.5" comps to run of the 4 x 25w active.
25w not enough to the speakers, most OEM would wipe the floor with it, even basic aftermarket radios is more, needs to be t least 50w RMS as not worth the work for less.

I think it woukd be a good idea to showcase sound system bundles. Like which amps pare with the right speakers. Etc etc
25x4+160 sounds like a good match for Hybrids

I installed it in Camry hybrid 2019. Sounds amazing w Focal speakers.

You must have worlds only Mazda Yaris.
@@Meeliskt77 in the states toyota sold a rebadged mazda 2 sedan as a yaris IA since like 2015 to 2019
Correct me if I am wrong. 25W RMS per channel is not the same delivery of a modern factory radio??

yes, indeed..., with 4x50w and 200w sub I would have bought it years ago... :)
What are the advantages of this versus getting the seperate Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack amp and Alpine PWE-S8 compact subwoofer?
This thing is absolutely genius

Can 2 of these be daisy chained using just one input and jumpered to the other?
Bazooka made a bass tube with a 4 channel amplifier
Sure did. Bazooka Concert Series CS8A5. 4x25 plus 100 for the 8" bazooka tube. Sonic Electronics had it for $249 before it was discontinued.
But it didn’t have a DSP
I'm curious if flipping it to fire into the floor would be better

This is the new 5 o'clock special.
Can you hook up 2 of them together? Gotta single cab Chevy squarebody.
I guess trying to never mount amp onto speaker box ...to avoid vibration affecting amp ...is going to be a challenge on this one ...lol
Right! 😂

Do you need the bluetooth dongle to be able to pair it with your iphone to make dsp adjustments on the app?
Would you add an underseat subwoofer if you're running active?

Can you run two of those badboys?
Seems very complicated to control. So can I connect all four woofers in my car to this?
great review as always and very interesting device.. but why they need to separate the bluetooth instead of integrated on the device itself, it is only small module..
No kidding...another head s scratcher..
Installing a radio receiver inside a metal box is probably not great for reception. The subwoofer is in a die cast aluminum enclosure.
I've heard that the volume knob doesn't work when connected to a Bluetooth source. Is that correct?
Just question , the bass are round?
I'm curious what sounds better, the 4 channel kicker key 180.4 with for example the jbl BASS PRO GO subwoofer or the alpine pwd x5?
If I listen carefully then has the alpine more preferred settings for when you are in the car with more people. The kicker key 180.4 has the option to set its own dsp.
Can it be configured for an active front setup?

When you make them at alpine quality and selling them for that price, please let me know, I'd be happy to be your Australian importer.😉
Can I add this to my 16 jku that already has installed PSS22-WRA alpine system???
Can u bridge and make 2 channels?
no, you can't bridge...
Hello. The USB port to connect The Bluetooth dongle can also be used as an input to connect other players?
Very cool product to get a great sound quality system. So many options! this is great.
Can you hook this sub to a aftermarket stereo say like the Alpine ILX-F511 Halo 11 and control the EQ and settings from it??
Lap top control only
Hola soy Fernando de Argentina. Quisiera saber que tipo de archivos decodifica el receptor bluetooth que trae el subwofer? Soporta mqa? Saludos

My Tacoma is like that. I can barely hear the rear door 6.5 speakers.
I wonder if this fits under the seat of my RZR
Did you Guys Install Any Amp of the C 7 Corvette?
"classic car" the game just changed.
Does it help with bass roll off?

I’m considering putting this in the trunk of my motorcycle
most stock audio systems send 20 or 50 wrms to the speakers so its no really usefull
Saw it here first.

Hardly no oem systems have more than 10-15rms. Even with aftermarket head units, very few have more than 20rms, most are 15-20rms.
Good Lord, whatever happened to simple systems..? Nah, I’m good with my olé school 🤷🏽♀️
this is more of an instructional video rather than a review.
industry 1st? wtf ... like 1990's people where building into the box ....
25W x 4 is marginally more than a head unit.....meh.
Many recievers are 25 max not rms.
Would this be a good fit for a 2019 f150 , could it be hidden behind the rear seat ?
Love the "you may need to download a trial of a rar program" wonder how long hes had winrar for free lol.
