Just to let some of you know. These plp are rich in life. They might not have a big house but they live rent free, eat from the land, live in the company of others, have sun, local fresh river and the sea not too far. Can eat more or less anything they want fresh. And living in shacks is a typical thing in Jamaica. Life is swell for them.

Living in the west or any developed country, it is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that life is all about working, money, buying things and imitating life as seen on TV. Any country where these aims are not met is considered poor or underdeveloped. The older I get, the more I appreciate the simplicity and genuine nature of life lived by people in what I grew up thinking were poor or unfortunate countries. I doubt Mokko will ever have to fret about sorting out home insurance or getting his car MOT (a certificate you need in UK to make sure car is road safe), or whether to buy Ratty a pair of Yeezys or Jordans for Xmas.
(Evoking thoughts and ideas like this in my daily life is why I love this channel! )

Abid you’re a wise man Abid. I too live in the the UK and think of these things. Last couple of days been stressing over what car to replace my perfectly good car with, and about the associated tax, fuel and insurance costs that will come with it. I was in Turkey once and did some people watching. The locals with little money sitting by the sea front in front of their little souvenir shops were happy to share their modest breakfasts with us and were infinitely happier and carefree than us relatively wealthy tourists. A simple life is a good life! Bless up Matthew for bringing this to us
Abid those were some of the very same thoughts that hit me when I started watching. It is so surprising how age and experience give you a different perspective on life.
C’mon son... you can live a MINIMALIST life anywhere. I don’t worry about yeezys, Jordan’s, or any expensive name brand for my kids. If you are worried about these things make CHANGES. All I care about is EDUCATION , a home, and feeding my children.
