To them it’s still leaving a person behind I don’t know if they reacted his past or not but It’s still pretty messed up in the way you’re gonna be left behind getting your blood drain and you watching the people you’ve been with all this time leaving you with the other version of yourself if it makes sense

I was gonna say, let me clear the situation but it seems my fellow nerds already did.. The richtofen in the great War Era clothes already lived the cycle over and over, at one point it was deemed there was no way out of this cycle where it goes from revelations( the final map in black ops 3 zombies) to the great war (a time before every major zombies map n not playable) I guess during those years or centuries, who knows how long it kept going for. Richtofen decides to try n rewrite the universe and preserve himself into a cryofreezer before primis richtofen comes and starts his journey to save himself and his friends from the fractured universe.. but he alwqys tried to avoid this until the events of BOTD(Blood Of The Dead) where it was the only way to get out, so in a way, richtofen dies but kept on living since he already lived the cycle n the original him since before the restart of the cycle was preserved
Although it was sad richtofen died (trust me, alot of people felt bad n some did cry seeing the hardest working and kindest richtofen die like that) he knew it was gonna happen eventually, he just tried to keep himself alive by keeping the cycle in motion... but since he went to blood of the dead, his late arrival hence broke the cycle and he had to eventually, do what was best for his friends and himself... He didn't want to die, even more so not be remembered because that dimension after being freed was going to collapse in on itself and not exist after, so his words of "you won't even remember" were true, his friends would know something was off with richtofen n it wasn't really him, but they won't ever remember those events except Nikolai
