- Whelp, I've been putting this one off for a good long while.. 108 days to be exact. No I didn't count, but my camera roll did. As a content creator in the outdoors camera equipment working is always a concern. Especially when Mother Nature is a big ol' B. One time when I first was starting out, I had some audio issues on a couple videos. This however was much worse than that. PAAA FUDGEEE.

Watched your first video of the barge and took my wife up there in July from the QC area. Had a great time and the guy that runs the barge is great. He told us about all the hooks he had to pull out of people and not 10 mins later I had a smallie jump out of the water into my hand and embed the treble hook into my thumb. My first smallie ever, and the owner graciously pulled it out for me and I kept on fishing. I plan to head up there again in the next few weeks. Can't wait for your videos of the fishing, just don't lose the footage this time!

Josh, my friend I feel your pain. This time last year I had travelled from the UK to New Jersey. A friend took me for a days fishing on the boat on Round Valley. Anyway a very long story short, that reservoir still has custody of my Sony camera, rode mic and tripod in it depths. Basically I messed up and should of collapsed it or tied it down........and I didn't!
An expensive mistake with a lot of lost footage. Sad days.

My face lit up once I saw the thumbnail! All my family is from that town and I grew up fishing those rapids after they put it in. Absolutely love the fishery up in that area and all the Clearwater springs!

Iowa.good job Clint on that dandy walter.theres alot of nice fish over there,same for on the illinois side.Rock river has had some up to like 13,14 lbs pulled out over the years.Another good spot in illinois is Shelbyville lake spillway Josh,good walters and the musky start biting around december,u guys would enjoy that place.peace.

Sorry to hear about the camera deal. I know exactly what small river you're fishing on and where. It's not surprising to see a Walleye that big caught out of it. There's big smallies and trout in that river too. I live an hr or so away from there.

Turkey, Yellow, and Upper Iowa river are good rivers for wading. If you’re up in northeast Iowa, check out Guttenberg. Great float and they have a resort right on the river for out of towners, and the boat launch is right behind it, Landing 615. You’ll need a touch heavier jigs, 1/2 and 5/8ths ounce. But the fall bite is outta sight! Dubuque also has a float that you walk out on, so no boat ride needed, it’s called Eagle Point fishing barge, check that out too. Was there two nights ago and got a nice pile of saugers and a pile of sheephead.

It would be a bit of a drive you if you ever made it up to the dirty north. Green Bay Wisconsin. Fish voyager in depere you can land a slab. Last year the biggest I’ve seen out of there was 37” lots of 35” but could beat your PB.
Stach Man- if you are looking for some tips on Brown and Rainbows in Northeast Iowa- hit me up. Only a very few streams have Brook trout in them in NE Iowa after they stopped stocking them

Funny thing is, smallies, spotted and largies are in fact sunfish. They are elongated sunfish and not even true bass, so you were in fact catching sunfish. That looked fun.
