False spring is a great opportunity to get garden beds cleaned if you weren’t able to do it in the fall, or get some fences mended or, other outdoor building projects done, but don’t fall for the “I can plant everything now”!!! Don’t do it!😂😂
We live in a development in the country and my goal is to eliminate the whole lawn. the trick is going to be the front yard without the neighbors complaining too much! LOL!!
California is huge state with amazing diversity in climate from temperate Redwood rainforests to the lowest elevation in the continental US & hot hot desert. We live in upper Northern California our false spring was a nice reminder of good things to come...We're back to 43° highs & lows in 20°.....March is just around the corner.
I'm in Southwest Ontario and I live in a one-bedroom apartment but I have a nice balcony! I have winter sown some things and I will start seeds inside pretty soon.
If I could like this video more than once I would! Love your excitement and yes, it is contagious even to us northern coldies - too early for us but give us HOPE!!!
So exciting. It makes me so delighted to see you working in your garden while I wait for mine. You had plus 30 degrees Celsius it’s negative 15 degrees Celsius today where I am.
The false spring is a wonderful gift for me, giving me so many comfortable days to work outside and get the garden cleaned out, and the briars and weeds from around the yard. Trying to get a head start on things.
Oh! I miss the spring so bad! 😅 In My zone in Sweden It's not spring until end of april 😎 My house is like a djungle right now, with tomatoes, bell peppers, artichoke, physalis, lemon grass, basil and more 💚💚💚 I love it!!!! I love to watch your videos and "garden" inside. Today you helped me replant some tomatoes 💜💜🙂🙂
I am thankful that you give us the option to listen to your podcasts from the computer. At 68, I don't use my phone for anything but texting, talking, picture taking, (many times I even forget about taking photos on it) or maps so I don't have podcasts on it. I never even use it for music. So I like having it on the computer, thank you so much for this. Sadly it doesn't help your platform by this method but I have faith that the many that do will put you where you need to be!
Yay!!!!! I feel like I’m behind just because I’m not to early this year. I’m so glad you are a couple weeks ahead of me it make me feel like I will have sufficient reminders for everything.
Well no February 🌞🌱 thaw here in New Hamphire. I'm getting ready to bob sled my 4x4 truck down our 🎿 ski jump of a driveway in the woods, in order to get to the 📚 library. That is my big morning out :-) Jess, we have a small plastic enclosed green house. I can see the value of a proper glass green house. Our house is not finished. The three season porch remains to be built. I will research how that area can be utilized for a screened porch and some serious seed starting. Enjoy your warm weather. I looked into moving to northern NC some years ago. Flew down there to look around in mid September and nearly keeled over from the heat! ~ Diane
-6 Celsius here in France this morning so I am so sad I can't do much outside... Watching you makes me want to get started even more. Love your videos. Thank you so much Jesse.
False springs not withstanding, heading into autumn here lol , just want to say how much I’m still enjoying Daniels musical accompaniment to your videos, he truly has given you a blessing. All the best Jules
I planted my first potatoes. With spring peas. It's almost too late but I have so many packs of pea seed, I finally was strong enough so planted enough for a few snacks lol
False spring is killing us here, too. Since we're just starting, I'm especially eager to get out and get going even though I know better than to rush it and push our luck with the seedlings and frost. It helps that the boys and I have been spending a lot of time playing outside on the warmer days, but I'm ready for spring!
I have started cabbage and broccoli and calendula to put out early. They won’t go out for another month and 7B. Oh also snap peas lots and lots of snap peas to plant! Greenhouse looks gorgeous!
Those of us who enjoy motorcycles refer to this as 'biker's spring'. This is the time when the guys would insist it's a sunny day, going to be warm, let's ride! I would fall for it every time!
Those higher shelves may come in handy for hanging things even if you're not able to sit anything on top of them. The greenhouse is looking ever better!
I have just a cheap plastic greenhouse that is unheated. And I always start my tomatoes and peppers in there. Even with the late frost we had last year my plants were just fine in there.
I love watching you this spring because I’m only a zone and a half behind you. My family was laughing because I ordered seeds and supplies etc getting ready to start. They keep saying it’s too soon. No it’s not!
I’m new to your social platforms but I have your gardening book. And I love it. It’s has highlighter on every page!! Thank you so much for doing your podcasts. I find myself counting down the days until Wednesday! They are the best!
Here in South Dakota I am starting some dahlia seeds next week, the rest doesn't start til March, mostly April. I used to start earlier but ran out of room for huge plants before I could transplant! Took me about five years to learn that lesson. When it's below zero and you are under a foot of snow, you want to see those little sprouts so badly.
I'm so impressed with y'all. I am doing FAR less than you and I find it so difficult to keep up with it all. I have a small garden (in comparison) that has a 30% success rate. I have a few farm animals but those are easy! I have a art business. I homeschool 3 kids (but only my eldest is really old enough yet). Editing videos takes FOR EVER. Soooo just here to tell you I'm impressed. And glad y'all are in SC. Nikki from Johns Island, SC.
In western PA. I took advantage of our False Spring yesterday (48°) and cleaned up last year's die backs. Any new growth I found I tried to cover lightly with mulch so when that freeze comes back, theyll hopefully be ok. Today is going to be 66°and will be tidying my deck.
Oh, my goodness! I got teary eyed when you said it's time! For me it's time to plant peas and other cool crops, seed start my onions for planting out in March. In March I get to start my warm weather crops. Southern Oregon zone 8, last frost late May.💕
I love that tub! I'd be tempted to set it up for some goldfish and have the water pumped up and through where it can bottom water seedlings and then cycle back to the tub. Or just fish. Because, fish lol.
Looking good! I noticed you have bagged product on a skid beside your gardening storage trailer. I would think you would order all your soil & ammendments In bulk (by the yard truckloads), but you have bagged. Is that special things you can't buy in the truckload?
JUST STARTED BEING SERIOUS ABOUT GROWING ROSE 2 years ago. THANK YOU FOR THE IMFO. IHAVE 4 ARCHES IN MY GARDENS. LOVE ! LOVE! HAD TO GROW THEM AFTER SEEING YOUR TANGERINE ROSE.
We are still under snow here in Michigan. Mid May (many say dont do it until Memorial day) or so to be able to start outside planting . I am dreaming as you start your seedlings. The end of March, maybe earlier.
Here in Nebraska we are in First Spring. We have two more winters before our one week of actual Spring on Mother's Day.... and then it's straight to Summer. I had beautiful roses last year! Our dogs ate and then dug a bunch up this Winter. So annoyed!!
Well good morning! Got an order of seeds today and i am so thankful for you. I have 5 kids love God and turns out i am a hopeful tomato geek. Year 3 here i come!
Your roses look good Ms. Jessica. I just finished mine 3 days ago. I'm not sure what hurts more my knees or my back. he he he. If one is plagued with black spot during the summer I often recommend using a dormant spray combo just after the hard winter prune. Horticultural oil mixed with a copper sulfur. (both are organic) Mix per manufactures suggested dormant spray rate. Spray the stems but try not putting too much on the soil if at all possible. Copper spray is used to kill off any bacteria on the stems and leaves. The soil is teaming with bacterial life so keeping the copper spray just on the stems if possible helps the living soil. God bless your new gardening season.
This is soooo funny because I made my soil blocks today and planted a bunch of seeds to. I actually did some sprouts yesterday and about 4 days ago. I did some wheatgrass for the chickens and our cats.
My nectarine trees have completely flowered out. If they make it past the flower before a freeze small freeze we will have a good crop. If we have a bad freeze we may not have any. That is life. My apple trees still have not budded yet. I live in South East Georgia and we often have this false spring. We are still a month away from the last frost so I have started some plants in the hoop house. I ordered some sage seeds. I am going to start back growing them again. I will start them inside.
Your podcasts areone of my favorite moments of the day. I listen to them while snowshoeing my puppy in our woods and gives me a really good vibe and nice start of day :)
Getting my seed stating space all cleaned up this week and putting the first seeds in soil next week (peppers, onions, brassicas - Zone 8b, Last Frost ≈ Apr 1). 🤗 Can't wait share a few cups of coffee over the potting bench with you again, Jess!
I have been rewatching the devotionals recently - such as in life, when we revisit lessons - we learn an even deeper aspect of the lesson from our view in our current stage of life. This fact never ceases to amaze me. Would really enjoy some podcast around some of those, or even new ones! Sending love and best wishes to all. Will is such a treasure. God is in all the details. Even things like cowprint! 🫂💕 💡Might consider a extra shade cloth perched above the top shelves - if you put seedlings up there. 🤞
These false springs are like candy being offered from the back of a van to us gardeners! Don't fall for it kids! 😂
😂😂😂
Best Comment Ever! Tears in eyes laughing! Interrupted work at home hubbys meeting laughing. oops
😂😂😂👍👍👍
Hahahaha. I'm dying laughing. Truth!!
🤣🤣🤣

I'm building more garden beds this false spring. Pretty soon i won't have any grass at all on my city "homestead"! Happy gardening to you all!!!
Yes! I’m a cul de sac homesteader 😂
False spring is my favorite time for garden expansions as well! Happy growing!
Grass is just so overrated! 🤣😂
You can't eat the grass 😆
We live in a development in the country and my goal is to eliminate the whole lawn. the trick is going to be the front yard without the neighbors complaining too much! LOL!!
false spring is when i start spring cleaning my home and garden all in time for real spring!
You are the bomb! Love the podcasts!
Real Spring is on the way is what it means! Hallelujah
👏 So excited
HalalwaYAH!
I love the thumbnails with big smiles 😁
Good morning from California. It’s so nice to have a cuppa coffee and watch Jess. Hoping you all have a good day.
California is huge state with amazing diversity in climate from temperate Redwood rainforests to the lowest elevation in the continental US & hot hot desert.

I am loving roses lately in the garden 😊 The fragrances just make my heart happy ❤-Cara
It's 1 degree celsius this morning in Ontario and I'm sitting outside in a sweater, being like, Spring's here baby! 😆
Me too!
I'm in Northern Ontario and we're having strong Southerly winds and I'm all excited! I'll just be playing with my seed starts inside though.
😂😂👍👍
I'm in Southwest Ontario and I live in a one-bedroom apartment but I have a nice balcony! I have winter sown some things and I will start seeds inside pretty soon.
Hands down the most beautiful greenhouse I've ever laid these green eyes on Jess and Miah!!!! Breath taking....I can wait to see it this Spring 🥰
Absolutely correct with your roses. Prune HARD in the Spring, soft in the fall.
If I could like this video more than once I would! Love your excitement and yes, it is contagious even to us northern coldies - too early for us but give us HOPE!!!
Oh Jess! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!😆 You just make me happy. So glad to see you so well.❤️
PODCAST IS ON APPLE!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I just got super excited… carry on lol
So exciting. It makes me so delighted to see you working in your garden while I wait for mine. You had plus 30 degrees Celsius it’s negative 15 degrees Celsius today where I am.
False spring gets me EVERYTIME!! Aghhh I want spring!
Just love seeing your enthusiasm and excitement for the planting of the new garden...makes my heart smile girl!!!!😁🤗✌️💜
As the old gardener’s saying goes ‘Get your worst enemy to prune your roses' 🌹
The false spring is a wonderful gift for me, giving me so many comfortable days to work outside and get the garden cleaned out, and the briars and weeds from around the yard. Trying to get a head start on things.
I'm looking forward to more Devotionals, too! Thank you, Jess!
Hi Jess. Love your smile while saying" Yes it's time to start" Ours will be before long. Happy gardening.
All of my bulbs are like “helloooooo” and I’m over here like “you fools!”
It's wonderful to see you feeling so well that you can be out prepping for the season! Blessings, Joy
Good Morning!

Try the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia - zone 6b. It's a reasonable alternative. Not as hot as NC and much less cold than NH.
What a beautiful backdrop for a plant stand!
Outstanding job visually incorporating the shelves!!

Yay! Seeds starting time! I have already started some. I am ready. Let's grow all the cool things people!
Seed starting! Yes! finally it's time, this winter seems to have been way too long. The greenhouse is looking really nice.
We will be prepping the garden, making raised beds, planting next week if all goes well... love your greenhouse. ~John
I'M READY, I'M READY, I'M READY!!!!!!
"false spring" here in Texas as well...My peach trees fall for it always!!!!!!!! Happy gardening.

We live in Cove, Arkansas. I take these beautiful warm days and clean up my garden too. My pear trees are starting to leaf out.
Yep and I gathering things NOW to be able cover my blueberries when the sneaky late freeze comes.
I always do the 2 bud rule with most plants and they always come back better 😊
I’m new to your social platforms but I have your gardening book. And I love it. It’s has highlighter on every page!! Thank you so much for doing your podcasts. I find myself counting down the days until Wednesday! They are the best!

Our new puppy pruned our roses for us. He did a pretty good job. He did whine a bit when he hit thorns.
Thanks Jess.
I really appreciate you sharing your world. You are light🌞 and always share happiness and bring joy.

This video makes my SW Michigan hands itch to get in the dirt. 😁
Your weather makes me soooo jealous right now! 😩 I know my time will come.
Thanks for another great video!
We just tapped for sap Sunday! The Temps have been all over the place. Good for sap bad for my patients for gardening 😆 got to love NY some times.
