I have to say that the sauna in the video is a far cry from the one I used growing up in Northern Minnesota during the 1960's. Ours was just a bit more "rustic"; Built into the corner of an old standalone garage, with bare cement walls, wood stove, and grayed wood benches.
No, we don’t have the drying rack in America; the first Airbnb I rented in Helsinki was a very small, compact studio and I thought it was a clever use of a tiny space… then the next and the next etc…it’s so great.
What American 14 year old just turned 14 like 3 days ago I play a game called my summer car and it's based in Finland and I want to move to Finland now LOL
As a Finn who spent her summers in Finnish countryside as a teen, I can tell you it's as close to Finland in the 90's as you can get. Everyone had the same furniture, cars etc.
I don't know how I survived without a sauna before I moved here. Warms you up in the winter. Cools you down in the summer. We have the Iloq now, but I preferred the Abloy. The Iloq doesn't always open on the first try. Kind of annoying.
I read an article in the Helsinging Sanomat or Yle or some other news publication of ours and turns out, those are not integrated cutting boards. Because it is so hard to wash them after each use and the cuts you make on them by accident are prime bacterial locations, even if wood itself is generally speaking pretty anti-septic. Their actual intended purpose? Is to roll dough and make bread and other pastries and baked good on them before you bake them! So. Get yourself a separate cutting board and start using those wooden trays for their intended pupose: Baking.
Welcome to the world of entrepreneurs, Alexi! I loved this video! About the keys... here in Brazil, when we move to a new house or apartment we usually call maintenance to exchange the old keys, for safety. Although safety is not an issue in Finland, do you use to change the keys when you move to a different apartment (the keys of the apartment where you’re arriving)?
In many house cooperatives (Taloyhtiö) the locks are electronic and the keys are programmable, so the house maintenance company can easily re-program the keys.

hi aleksi, i have a question. when i recently traveled to finland i noticed that a lot of finnish houses had these triangular light display in their windows. Are these a Christmas decorations that finns have or would they stay up for the winter period. thanks

I WANT AN OVER-THE-SINK DISH DRAIN IN A CUPBOARD!!! Aleksi, can you send me one? Does the handsome naked Finn come with the sauna or do you have to buy those extra?
Sir, i really like your content! @Aleksi Himself: I have some questions as i want to buy a lakesideproperty in Finland to come and visit a few times a year and do outdoor stuff and maybe rent out. Will people hate me because i am german? What are the hidden cost and duties that come with a property in finland? The price is soo cheap it looks like fraud. Kainuu region. Best Regards, I would really appreciate a small answer from you :)
I'd love to meet you Aleksi!!! You'd be a good pal for me to do and share things with man to man!!! You're quite an awesome man to man inspiration on me too!!!
@@AleksiHimself why only in Juhannus..? We pick them up for the entire winter (in most post soviet counties). In our view, sauna experience is incomplete without vihta. Then you can go outside and roll in the snow. So nice. Just a bit surprised that Nordic Finns don’t do it or don’t like sauna this way.
@@AleksiHimself it was just a toxic relationship. That lasted for about 3 years. I try to tell people about these home features while I'm here in Canada and they think I am crazy, haha.
Show them this video. 😄😄
I feel like the main use of the integrated cuttingboard is dry stuff, mainly bread
Drying rack for utensils is a very old concept in India and we have it in 99% of the houses 😇 we are moving to Helsinki soon so excited as hell 🤩
WTF = Welcome to Finland!
@@AleksiHimself Kiitos 😇
we also have it in Italy
Hows finland treating you? Are you liking it? I am from India as well, and I too wish to move to Finland

Thanks for the comment janus1958!
Many say that MINNESOTA - IS just like Finland !
It's very nice to hear from your introduction about Finland, one of the most happy countries in the world.
Good stuff! 😃🙌

damn, I just took these for granted.
For Finns they can be :)
The drying hack was an improvement that i did at my mother's home in Brazil.
Good stuff! 😃🙌
I like your humorous style.
Here in Hawaii we have special windows as well, they’re hurricane windows double pane and reinforced in between
Finntastic! 😃🙌
Yeah a few years ago we had the biggest recorded hurricane a category 5 and the windows handle it like a champ

The old tenant returns the keys which are given to the new owner. That's it!
Abloy that are mostly used keys can be duplicated only by locksmiths
In many house cooperatives (Taloyhtiö) the locks are electronic and the keys are programmable, so the house maintenance company can easily re-program the keys.
If I ever had to do a Finnish personality test, I'd fail the sauna portion 😂 I struggle with heat.
It takes some adjustment at first but totally learnable!
. I do not like sauna. I kind of like old smoke saunas cause they are sacred seeming but not modern saunas at all.
awesome video, thank you for the knowledge you give us about living in Finland.
good luck.
Thanks, you too!
Love the thumbnail! Keep the quality content coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Great vid, learned a lot of new stuff!
Awesome, thank you!
Love Sauna. Rantasauna is the second best right after the savusauna.
I miss Finland. Salmiakki kossua, Savonlinnan muikkuja ja Karjalanpiirakoita.

Aleski is on song in this video, isn't he? 😀
What do you mean?
0:44 bruh showing us the real experience😭😭
We see nothing wrong with being naked. 😊 It's not anything sexual by default.
Your face in the thumbnail😅🤣
Trying to get the clicks. 😅🤣
I'm still have doubts on the electrical key when it comes to the power going out, I rather stick with the traditional key lock
That's actually the trick with key: when you turn the key, it will produce the electricity needed so the power can't really go out.
@@AleksiHimself ahh ok, that makes sense now

Hei Aliksi kysymys!
Suomalaiset yleensä istovat saunass noin 45min tai tunti mutta minun maximi on20- 25 minutia en voi istu enemmän?!

Requires more than one person to operate.
Just for record. Not all apartment buildings have a bicycle storage
Good point!
Then You Have " vintti " at attick !
That sauna was almost too small for you
From that angle yes. :D
Its Not For sleeping - but sitting straigt ! He had to pose sideways - to avoid YT rules !
Why the Finnish people don’t like to use twigs of birch (vihta) in sauna? It’s so much nicer to hit yourself with vihta.
We use them only in Juhannus (midsummer).
