Welcome back! My computer has some drama this past week as well, but it was not quite as traumatic. only a couple days and a new video card later she was back.😅 I need to get another video up, though. I had the live for Spurgeon yesterday or I'd probably have another one posted.
Ugh, it's always something! Although my last computer lasted me about four and a half years so that's pretty good these days. And it was actually working great until the coffee spilled. 🙄
I think you would like The Blue Cloak. Cymbeline was definitely interesting. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts about it, too, and the analysis by Harold Bloom.
I had come across The Yellow Lantern years ago but never ended up reading it, and I've never heard anyone else talk about any of the books in the True Colors series. Now I'm really intrigued after hearing you talking about The Blue Cloak! I love Cymbeline! (The play, not the king.) I've heard it's not one of his more popular plays, so I'm in the minority on that one. And yes, the title is confusing because he's not at all the main character. And apparently I've been pronouncing the title wrong because I looked it up and everything I found said it's pronounced cymbe-leen. And yes! I 100% agree with you on If I Run! I read that one years ago and, while I liked the main mystery, I found the secondary mystery completely unbelievable that she would be able to figure it out and bring it to a satisfying conclusion in such a short amount of time. It was because of that that I never continued the series. I do hope you enjoy the third book though!
I'm hoping for a satisfactory conclusion to the If I Run series! Those side plots really detract from the story, but the main story - and the overall storytelling - is really good. Yeah, I finally looked it up and found the pronunciation for Cymbeline. Although honestly, "Cymbeline" is probably nothing like the actual pronunciation of the real dude's name, so.... It was a fun read and I really liked Imogen. I think I would like to read more in the True Colors series, but I think each one will depend on the author as far as whether or not I will like it. So we'll see!
I agree about the challenges of writing Christian fiction. When you think of all the ways we choose to worship it makes sense that it would be hard to write a book that satisfies all.
I just recently picked up The Blue Cloak, and now you've ade me more interested.
I think you would like it!

I love when books unintentionally have connecting threads! ❤
Yes! Currently, I'm reading two books simultaneously and there are SO many overlapping ideas!! That was not intentional at all.
Glad to see you back!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! So glad to be back!
Welcome back! I enjoyed your thoughts and perspective on Cymbeline. The Blue Cloak sounds fascinating, I will need to keep an eye out for a copy.

Oh my! I'm so sorry your computer was damaged at school! I'm glad you're back up and editing again.
Thank you!

Yes! I guess we all bring different perspectives and life experience to the table, so there's no way in any sphere of life to make *everyone* happy!
I think I might do a video ranking the True Colors series. I've read them all. There are so many of the stories behind the books I'd never heard of.
That would be a fun video! I've only read two.
I enjoyed hearing you talk about Cymbaline. It’s been so long since I read it that I can’t remember anything about it except the name😅
😂 I'm like that with all the books I read 10-20 years ago. And some of the books I read last year, let's be real. 😂
I can’t edit on my phone either.
Glad I'm not the only one! My fingers are too old to know how to do that. LOL
