Legend!!! This worked for my A7C. Also important to note to remove the libusb drivers if you want the proper drivers again. For anyone looking for instruction: On the first attempt at service tweak this will give you an error. Don't worry, keep camera connected. Run Zadig again, this time select Sony USB, and resinstall libusb-win32. Unplug and plug the camera back in. Run the PMCA GUI again, detect, and service tweak, it should work this time. Unplug camera once tweaks are done. To get the correct drivers again (camera needs to be unplugged) Open device manager Go to View and check show hidden devices Expand Libusb-win32 and uninstall the camera (and Sony USB for A7C) Next time you plug your camera it should auto install correct drivers.

Thanks mate. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Did something similar with my A6300 a couple of years ago but now I bought myself an A7 iii and wanted to do the same exact thing. Your instructions are really nice and precise. Most important is the pmca-gui you shared because the one you can download from the official site does not offer the service mode for whatever reason. For me it worked perfectly, thanks a lot. Forgot to mention, I had to use the USB-C port to make it work.
Guys I just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC RX100 and it worked. Just make sure to follow every step in this video exactly as he shows. It took a couple tries for me but after about three tries in a 3 day span, it worked perfectly.
After battling these instructions for several hours I finally tried the alternative procedures and that worked for me! You can find the alternative procedures listed in the comment section above. If you are having trouble running the gui try the alternate procedures. It worked like a charm for me. 👍

STILL NOT WORKING? I manage after hours of trail and error to get this to work on my Sony A7III. The key issue for me was the kind of PCMA-GUI I was using. In the video you are supposed to use an older PMCA but sometimes it just doest work for whatever reason. My Issue: I was able to tweak in service mode but it refused to let me selected any of the options. it would automatically uncheck. So I went online and found V0.18-18 worked for sonyA7III's but the actual file was impossible to find... so I took a last effort try and used another random version I found " v0.18-22 " and when through the steps (the alternative method in his description) and it worked!!! Huge thank you Mr.Anything! I bought a camera off of eBay and didn't know Japanese Sony's were region locked, this saved me time and money. Huge thanks!

For Mac Users, the MacOS version of the GUI file doesn’t work. The previous version of it does work but it doesn’t have the second tab in the “tweaks” section so it’s no good. What I had to do was find a windows computer and it worked perfectly there just like in this video. Kinda sucks that it doesn’t work on Mac. Hope this helps.

I did everything like you but "Error: Only libusb drivers are supported for service mode". The pop up window for selecting the tweaks does not appear. It is now on libusb-win32 (v1.4.0.0). Tried again, now I can only re-install but nothing changes. Is there a different libusb-win32 (v1.4.0.0) but for win64?

Works perfect on NEX-5R but service mode not appear so just select first opcion (updater mode) and go to your camera a select ok, just wait few second and swicht off and back swicht on and the icon appear on your PC , make sure click on to disable lenguajes and follow the steps of this video.

Hello, I followed your steps on my a6400 and successfully completed the process. However, when I try to scroll down to the bottom in the language menu, the camera displays the language selection screen, preventing me from choosing the desired language. Simply switching to English is not an issue, but I would like to find the option for Chinese. The language menu pops up before I can reach the end of the menu.
How about updating the camera?! Won't there be any issues, if I would update the camera to a newer firmware??? Also what't going to happen, if I would have a warranty issue?

okay mine works on the FX30 with bootcamp on my macbook intel! if yours is missing libusb-win32, you can install it by typing “sudo port install libusb-win32” is somewhere around that line! hope it helps!

Hello, you can try this again, the new updated PCMA program has been updated to the same links. Just solved this issue today with an update. When you put your camera into service mode it should be good. If it still doesn't work put camera into service mode > update the driver with zaddig a second time (the device may be called "sony USB device" in zaddig) > update sony usb device to libusb-win32 driver > start tweaking in service mode!
After installing the driver the camera told to reset so i reset it but after that...the computer cannot read the usb using mass storage,,,but in the other mode besides mass storage the computer can read it..can anyone help me to this?

Hi Seoul. I don’t see your camera on the list of supported devices… but I think it’s because your camera is still very new. It should work, follow the steps in my video. If you have any errors let me know what it says. Alternatively, try these steps: Update drivers with zadig libusb-32 > Open pcma and select tweaking in service mode> Go back to zadig device may be called Sony USB device now, update that to libusb-32 driver again> Go back to pcma and start tweaking, and it should work. @@markdagang5778 most likely the camera has no disconnected and is actually in service mode. Do the driver switch a second time just like before but now your camera should be called “Sony usb device” or something like that. Then it should work

@@narendibrahim try this: When you get the prompt for the error. Try replacing the driver through zadig a second time. Replace the driver every time you get the error
@@MrAnythingGuy I got stuck on the same step, however replacing the driver again doesn't help. Tried it at least 10 times. Every time I click on "Start tweaking (service mode)" the camera screen starts to show gallery preview and it seems like the USB disconnects because the Zadig doesn't show the camera in the list anymore and "Get camera info" also stops working, until I reconnect the camera (usually bu turning it off and on). I peapeted this cycle many times without any success. At some point I got a different error, some sort of "exception". Ideas?
So eventually I managed to make it work. Turns out, the camera doesn't disappear from the Zadig devices list but rather changes it's name to "Sony USB device" (or something like this) - then replacing the driver to this device worked as expected. Thank you for for making this tutorial, it helped me a lot :)

try and do the driver step 2 times. That's what I read in one of the forms. Checkout the link "form that saved me" in the description and give it a read through @Oran_h looks like he was able to do this but used a newer version of the GUI program. Hope you can get it to work
@FREEDOM2604 once you click tweak in service mode, it seems like usb gets disconnected. but donot disconnect usb, you have to go to zadig again. Repeat same process but this time in place of your camera model, it will show up as sony usb and complete the same installation process. And go back to tweak in service mode. You will have options to unlock all language.
OMG.. I've been using the Japanese menu on A7Riii for more than a year now, not knowing it's possible to do this.. Can't wait to get home and check it out. I live in Japan and I can read Japanese but not ad fast as I read English. When I bought the camera I had no clue there's something as ridiculous as a language lock..

It worked. Took me 1 hour to figure it out. My issues was that the version on the website was outdated. I had to find the 18-18 version then it worked for A7Riii.
Hello there! I just unlocked the languages in my Sony a7c and YES it includes Czech language! The difficulty for me was that I had to install libusbK (v.3.1.0.0) in the Zigdiag program, because it wouldn't work with the version in the video.

Simply switching to English is not an issue, but I would like to find the option for Chinese. The language menu pops up before I can reach the end of the menu.

I'm trying this on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro and using vm windows.
When I run the Zadig, and select my camera (ILME-FX 30), it doesn't show "libusb-win32" in the list of drivers.
It only shows "WinUSB" (v6.1.7600.16385) and USB Serial (CDC). So I can't install the drivers.
What am I missing?

okay mine works on the FX30 with bootcamp on my macbook intel! if yours is missing libusb-win32, you can install it by typing “sudo port install libusb-win32”

When you put your camera into service mode it should be good.
If it still doesn't work put camera into service mode > update the driver with zaddig a second time (the device may be called "sony USB device" in zaddig) > update sony usb device to libusb-win32 driver > start tweaking in service mode!

Hi Seoul. I don’t see your camera on the list of supported devices… but I think it’s because your camera is still very new. It should work, follow the steps in my video.
If you have any errors let me know what it says.
Alternatively, try these steps:
Update drivers with zadig libusb-32 >
Open pcma and select tweaking in service mode>
Go back to zadig device may be called Sony USB device now, update that to libusb-32 driver again>
Go back to pcma and start tweaking, and it should work.

Do the driver switch a second time just like before but now your camera should be called “Sony usb device” or something like that.

When you get the prompt for the error. Try replacing the driver through zadig a second time.
Replace the driver every time you get the error

I got stuck on the same step, however replacing the driver again doesn't help. Tried it at least 10 times.
Every time I click on "Start tweaking (service mode)" the camera screen starts to show gallery preview and it seems like the USB disconnects because the Zadig doesn't show the camera in the list anymore and "Get camera info" also stops working, until I reconnect the camera (usually bu turning it off and on). I peapeted this cycle many times without any success. At some point I got a different error, some sort of "exception".
Ideas?
So eventually I managed to make it work. Turns out, the camera doesn't disappear from the Zadig devices list but rather changes it's name to "Sony USB device" (or something like this) - then replacing the driver to this device worked as expected.

@@simply_soothing Good day, ive literally done the same as in the inst vid..ive downloaded the app zadig, and the pmca gui. Follow whats in video. Only be careful on the list of devices when changing the driver on zadig app..since mine i accidentally replaced driver of my fingerprint scanner..hehe..but now its ok..both my laptop and camera works fine.

@FREEDOM2604 once you click tweak in service mode, it seems like usb gets disconnected. but donot disconnect usb, you have to go to zadig again. Repeat same process but this time in place of your camera model, it will show up as sony usb and complete the same installation process. And go back to tweak in service mode. You will have options to unlock all language.
OMG.. I've been using the Japanese menu on A7Riii for more than a year now, not knowing it's possible to do this.. Can't wait to get home and check it out. I live in Japan and I can read Japanese but not ad fast as I read English. When I bought the camera I had no clue there's something as ridiculous as a language lock..

It worked. Took me 1 hour to figure it out. My issues was that the version on the website was outdated. I had to find the 18-18 version then it worked for A7Riii.

Hello there! I just unlocked the languages in my Sony a7c and YES it includes Czech language! The difficulty for me was that I had to install libusbK (v.3.1.0.0) in the Zigdiag program, because it wouldn't work with the version in the video.
