I like this blue creature for some reason. Even though it was troublesome for Jack in the episode it really meant no harm and was kind of adorable. Also it crying when seeing Jack beat up was quite sad
I feel like these robots were built by a mad scientist who realized that combat ability in his universe is determined by "coolness", and that the reason Jack is invincible is because samurai are cool and he does everything so stylishly. So, to defeat Jack, he built four robots designed for maximum style and personality and gave them their own theme music. And sure enough, as long as their theme music was playing they were as unstoppable as Jack at his best.
If stylish is your goal then 50s 60s is the dumbest option. Can't beat 20s suits by a mile compared to those clowns. They were outdated when they came.
I see many people complaining about Jack's prowess inconsistency here, but I believe this is an important part of episodic shows like this one. There are minor inconsistencies that are put into the show to play with different scenarios and interesting outcomes. Had Jack effortlessly beaten these random robots, we wouldn't have this awesome creature transformation. On top of that, these moments allows to see Jack vulnerable's side, reminding us that: he is still human, he is not the perfect warrior, he is not unbeatable, he has some high and low moments in his career. Other examples we can see: 1.- Jack is fighting some robots but loses his wooden shoe, he replaces it with high heel blade shoes which made him a fighting beast, but got embarassed when told he looked like a woman, so he fled the scene in embarassment. 2.- Jack and the Scotsman are fighting some robots, not an extraordinary army, but somehow they end winded and contemplating death. This was just to lead up to the Scotsman's wife to get into the fight and decimate the entire army and the powerful bad guy that took her prisoner in the first place. 3.- Jack gets fooled by a monster to get eaten, the mini episode just ends with him inside the belly. We all know Jack is still alive thanks to an inmense ammount of luck along with his fighting skills. As a side note, another show that uses these inconsistencies a lot is Megas XLR, and that show rocks. Sometimes Megas can obliterate an entire colony of giant space worms whitout damaging the space colony, others it can't do shit when it runs out of missiles.
Megas XLR is played entirely for laughs. Samurai Jack is a mostly serious show. These robots should have been made OP, and Jack should have been portrayed as already injured, to justify how they could have beaten someone could have otherwise made short work of them in ten seconds

When we talk about one of the fewest enemies Jack literally could not defeat, and needed someone/something other to defeat them for him, these gang is surprisingly not often mentioned but they are out there. Sure, Jack was outnumbered and was taken off guard but still, the fact remains that * he lost that fight* and would have *died* if the creature didn't help him.
part of the problem was that it was an open field. jack is best at CQC where grace and skill of the blade are more usable, and acrobatics and dodging is easier. an open field fighting an enemy with ranged weaponry is just not his strong suit. he is a duelist and a warrior, but he is not a soldier if that makes sense
Everyone’s salty that Jack got his ass kicked, but TBH I find the idea that the robo-greasers are THAT good compared to his other opponents to be hilarious.

That's the point. Genndy wanted a show about a Samurai to have all the visceral, bisecting violence a story like that should, but as CN was the only network willing to fund the series, he had to compromise somewhere.
I remembered watching this when I was younger and being kinda scared of these things they were different then the other robots they were WAY more brutal as there designs were as well and to think they came out of nowhere without a origin is really different then the other enemies.
I personally find it offending that these punk cans were able to take down and kill Jack, if he would've been by himself alone, like usually.
O.K.. Now that Wild Ride song is stuck in my head...
He could've just put the sword on his other hand u know?
Yeah but he was caught off guard but it gave him experience in tranquilizers after this encounter
@@c.galindo9639 Yh
@@UK-123 yup. The first time he dealt with bounty hunters using that trick it seems
I guess he must be right-handed. 🤷♂️
It seems like he had even a hard time lifting his arm even if he put his sword on the other hand he still wouldnt be able to move much.
The Flys coming right back after it’s over is hilarious
And the flies come back at the end
Everyone’s salty that Jack got his ass kicked, but TBH I find the idea that the robo-greasers are THAT good compared to his other opponents to be hilarious.
“Ah Robots, I can be as hardcore as I want and it’ll still be PG-13. Mmmmm delicious ultraviolence.”
I remember in 2001 when this aired on Cartoon Network, at a time when cartoons they were airing cartoons that likely wouldn't be G-rated by today's standards. It was unsettling to me at 7 years old to see this
This is my most favorite episode! Who can really get mad at the creature? ♥️
Vegeta and the beast together showing robots how to feel fear lol
I get very emotional when i see the warm hearted loveable one go crazy and explode
2:02 Did you notice that error?
Driver Robot called Larry holds a gun with THREE barrels, but next shot shows FOUR flechettes. Jack's right arm is also hit by THREE flechettes.
Episode after this is a haunted house with a demon
Nice. I love that episode
Kinda has his legs don't it?
@@etherealbladerx8153 hmm...
Nah the one after this is the one where Aku disguises himself as a dwarf to trick Jack into collecting items that he thought would take him to the past. The haunted house one is right after that one.
@@murads6947 cool. That one is good but Jack figured it was Aku at the end and tricked him instead
Am I the only one that legit thought the Wild Ride robots were legit scary as a kid?
I legit think you legit are.
@@Pluddergnyf77 Thanks. I legit thought I legit was going crazy legit being the only one finding them legit scary...legitimately XD
Nah they just had plot armour. There’s no way he couldn’t dodge the darts and this fight should’ve been over in 2 seconds.
@Otto Rocket bruh ,Critical is right, in 3rd episode of 1st season, Jack defeat an army of robot bugs. I don't think that gang of this punks is more dangerous than army.
Plus at this point of time Jack beat Demongo(literally best Aku's warrior)
3:48 when that robot was flailing it’s arms and got smashed, it was the most satisfying kill to me
Ground Pound
This is the best kind of anger ever he unleashed the beast to save his friend
Can't believe I just noticed now that's Tom Kenny singing "Wild Ride".
3:16 He went angry berserk into beast mode, 👁👁🔥🔥3:41 crush these bots into scrap metals.
0:29 that was my reaction of the music they were listening.
2:26 it look like they are trying to fly or they have like bouncy shoes when they are running.
I keep forgetting they were able to get away with brutal deaths with the villains being robots
Yup.
That's the point. Genndy wanted a show about a Samurai to have all the visceral, bisecting violence a story like that should, but as CN was the only network willing to fund the series, he had to compromise somewhere.
Be careful who you piss off as someone once said “looks like a cinnamon roll could kill you”
The band playing in the beginning is The Boozehounds, they haven't released the track... believe me, I'm just as sad as you.
The nice ones are always the worst when pushed too far XD
Never thought I would see the day when Totoro would throw hands.
Imagine if this creature was included in the final battle against Aku?
So THAT'S where Villainous got the inspiration for 505 from!
Samurai Jack vs the Grease Robots if the leader robot look like the Fonz ayyyyye
Ayyyyye
I remembered watching this when I was younger and being kinda scared of these things they were different then the other robots they were WAY more brutal as there designs were as well and to think they came out of nowhere without a origin is really different then the other enemies.
Leave it to the best CN show to point out that your neighbor Totoro were horrifying if veiwed through hostile eyes.
Full song needed immediately.. 🤘🤠
Whichever scientist built these robots was probably going through the same phase as Gero did when he built Android 13.
I love how the music fades in and out
the music
What is the second soundtrack called? After the car crashes? I love it so much :O
Now I know Totoro's true form after seeing this clip.
Also, is no one gonna talk about how badass that car looks?
I personally find it offending that these punk cans were able to take down and kill Jack, if he would've been by himself alone, like usually. He's usually so badass and calm in serious fights like this, but he was so surprised by these weird dudes now what I could understand, but to see him distracted so much, that he actually almost died, is blood raging and bullshit to me.
I know, technically these 4 were stronger than those assassins in that other episode, makes no sense
@@danielbyrne5402 or just he wasn't as strong and experienced as later on? I don't know. Was this episode before he even learned, how to jump from the monkey man? I'm not sure. 💁♀️
@@doczirebeka8312 I see ur chronological logic but he never used jump against assassins, and do cartoons even care?
@@danielbyrne5402 sometimes, yes. Think about Avatar. 😁
@@doczirebeka8312 lol never seen it
For the creature you only have 1 rule: do not anger it
whats song? 0:03
Wild Ride, I don't think it exists outside of Sam Jack
I searched "Samurai Jack blue creature" and the creature is literally named The Creature.
Wow samurai jack
