Another great video. When I worked as a tech for a lawn care company we always pushed Lime apps in the Spring. The reason for this was we had a whole crew who have been inside since the end of November and we had to start to generate income. In March we would apply Lime to all our customers lawns as a regular app because we could not apply N until after 4/1 here on Long Island. It was very cheap and we would tell our customers that the acid rain and snow would lower their PH so this would help bring the levels up to a acceptable level. First off it takes a long time for levels to change and second we did not do soil testing so this was just another ploy to make money. So glad I am out of that field .

I bought this hydro indoor garden. I set the PH of the nutrient solution to 6. After weeks I checked and to my big surprise, it was now 4.5 (yeah, I know... doh). Though the lettuce grew just fine. Very yummy. The pepper plants were VERY green and short but healthy looking.
In my cannabis grow on living soil I did experience calcium deficiency when I used RO water at ~7.4. Since I corrected the PH to 6.3, I never saw a calcium deficiency ever again.
Those 2 data points for your anecdotal evidence shelf.
I don't like turf too much, but I definitely like my soil science. Subscribed.

I heard if a plant is well established with good compost and mulch and alot of plants are thriving in the area and the soil has alot of organic matter and has a good ratio of bacteria and microbes and the Mycelium is thriving the plants roots are connected with the Mycelium web spreading miles under ground that it can Exchange sugars for nutrients to the Mycelium so the plant could correct its self and established its self naturally but are soils have been Depleted of all that good organic stuff so its hard to exchange all the minerals and nutrients from ground for the plant can up take example in nature like the forest they are well established and are all connected the trees threw the Mycelium and forest floors are rich in plant food and thriving leaves fall makes good mulch and compost it the cycle of life they help out everything plants the animal the Organisms but when we give plants a npk it stop that process and it stop Relying on the mycelium and start depending on humans to give them the next fertilizer and stop relying on the natural cycle .so i feel if we give the plants or grass or trees ect ect the right Environment it can take care of its self threw its roots and threw the relationships it has with othere Organisms and we also play a role in helping nature i know tap water can have alot of Toxins and chemicals and some very alkaline so may be neutral ph water a filter in the water hose spring water is good and rain water is the best has sulfur too and if the plants healthy with organic matter it can convert what ever it needs to thrive . But yeah im start to mimic the way nature does it i use to always give fertilizer to my plants npk every month now im just amending the soil with mulch compost wood chips and humic acid from the compost and adding more organic matter to the dirt peat moss bark manure all my chicken manure all the fall leaves now my earth worm population is thriving they chelate the organic matter and make it more soluble to the plant b4 i had just clay soil only and all my plants would be bone dry in 2 days after watering now mixing peat moss in the clay my soil now stay moist for weeks so many things im learning every day to make it easier i know back then speacily acidic soil u have one problem then it becomes more gotta by a ph tester got by fertilizer gotta put elemental sulfur a year b4 planting acidic plants then u start thinking do i add more iron sulfate the list goes on im just going go the more easier way and let nature do its thing if i give it the right Environment besides i dont got money like that to be buying products all the time that can be stressful 😅

So what fertilizer should I use for my fescue for each seasons? My ph is a 6, acidic soil, just below organic level... Richmond VA

For my understandings ,just knowing the pH is more valuable then any soil test. You can DIY enough accurately even with simple pH meter for 5$ (a.k.a the greendoc's approach). This will tell you ,the most important , your N source(AMS,Urea,CaNO3...) ,chances for Na (>8.5) or Al (
