You do an excellent job of explaining and evaluating, especially referencing the need to monitor cold and heat. Even if people know little about solar and charging, explaining what the components do helps someone appreciate the attention and different components needed. ONE REQUEST: can you possible put into real time terms: charge a phone? charge a laptop? run a small heater, etc.👍
I used to do that, but it really added substantially to the length of the video - so now I refer people to my Google Sheet that you can download and key-in the inverter and battery capacity to see what kinds of things a particular system can run (and for how long). I forgot to mention that spreadsheet in this video, but I did put the link in the description if you want to go check it out. Might be helpful. :)

Really simple setup, and fairly priced. We live a simple off- grid lifestyle and found that the 2000 watt power stations serve us well. I do have to run the generator to transfer water from the well to our storage tanks......

yeah I suspect it's basically the 100Ah 'mini' configuration in a standard Group 31 case, freeing up the space needed to add the CC and other extra goodies. :)

It just interests me how they keep the charge controller cool while being encased without vents...unless that's all done by the battery BMS. 🤷

Thanks for the review. I'll be waiting to see the type of users this will attract. The problem is if any ports go out on the battery then it's no different than an all in one power station. Bluetti dropped the price of their ac 180 below $600.

I hate to say but I like this little kit. Great for camping can use a 12V fan during the day while charging it with the solar panel and at night I can use usb lights and use by cpap with my 12V adapter. In the morning I can use it to make y coffee with the inverter. Not bad at all.

I love the foldable ( although ? cost more to produce?) and wonder if the industry is in expanding in this space because can move the panel unlike heavy non foldable panels.

I like this setup. I bought the vtoman jump 1000 that you reviewed, but I really want to install a 2000w inverter and a battery like that. I knew that eventually the price would drop. This is a great deal!
That system should work fine with the batteries in parallel. This would work just like running charge controllers in parallel. Interesting system.

Self heating - hopefully it only takes the charging input to power the heater.. I guess one could make the case to enable pre-heating from battery power but that seems less useful than just turning the heater on when connected to charging but the temperature is below freezing.

Interesting but for less money you can get an Ecoflow Delta 2 for $500-600 that is more portable and can accept 500 watts of solar. For another $200-300 you could add a 200 watt solar panel. Im not sure this makes sense financially.

The question I have is the shipping cost included in the price with our lower dollar we need to add 30 % brings it to around 330 dollars and shipping it to Canada if it's anything like what shipping a triplite line conditioner at almost 300 dollars
I see they are also available in the Canadian shop and on Amazon Canada with free shipping.
Im all for starter kits to get ppl into solar so they can see how achievable making your own power is but I also think its better to skip this step and use the money for a system big enough for all your needs so you don't get shafted by corporate energy gouging ever again.

I have two questions...
1) I have a pair of 200W HardKorr panels, which in parallel could deliver 400W & be under the 10-45V 20A charge controller spec.
Did I get that correct, and could get away with that 400W combo ??
I am at Latiitude N43 and not likely going to get 400W, but want to be safe if I travel South.
2) I was wondering if you tried using the provided ring terminals of the system AC charger AND Solar input combined ?? Ie: does dual charging work ???
Thanks for question! On your first point - yes, you have that right. As long as you stay under that 45V max, you're fine. The charge controller will still only every be able to pull a max of 200W, so you'll (on occasion) be leaving some power on the table (ie clipping), but there's certainly no problem over-paneling that way...and it's especially helpful in less-than-ideal sky conditions. On the second point - also yes. You can definitely charge from both solar and the AC charger via the top terminals at the same time. Really the constraint is that the BMS just limit you to 100A input at any given time and you'd definitely not exceed that combining solar and AC charging simultaneously.
Oh money is better spent on an all-in-one power station. It will have multiple inputs and outputs and a real usb-c that is t restricted to 15w and you can grab one handle and take it all with you. No separate charger separate inverter, battery...
This is a bad idea.
A year ago it might have been a cheaper route but prices for the real deal or very low now.

Yeah this is just single-phase 120V. A pool pump is a pretty heavy lift given that constant 1.25kW load. I think they're typically 240V, but you'd know better than I would on that point. In any case, for that kind of application, you'd want a MUCH bigger system with substantially much more solar, much more battery capacity and a much bigger inverter.

I’m looking to replace the agm battery in my van and this battery would clean up my wiring. Do you think a harbor freight 100w solar panel or two would be a good fit for this battery? I already own them and really don’t want to purchase more, if I don’t have to. Thanks!
@rigidchop yeah I think the HF 100W panels at typical 18V so you could connect 2 in series and still be under that 45V input max...or parallel would work too since it has a 20A max current draw, but usually series is quick and easy amd doesn't require any extra adapters
