    C2H8? Ethane is C2H6. Propane is C3H8. Butane is C4H10.

      Sure thing, Art simply forgot....
      CnH2n+2 is the Alkenes formula, which are the predominant form of CH compounds in crude.

      Unfortunately that is also the main gist behind most alterglobalists movements, it is even almost the word to word slogan that's trumpeted by "permaculture" spin doctors. The more we approach the net energy cliff, the more we'll get deep into mass delusional thinking I'm afraid.

    Boy, was I born in the sweet spot of humankind....circa 1960

    • @bunsw2070
      @bunsw2070 Рік тому

      I was born in 1964 but i don't see that as the sweet spot. Unless you're planning on dying in the next six months were likely going to go to the grave in the worst way possible. I'm in Toronto and people have become so incompetent that it's nearly impossible to get your car fixed. Hospitals are manned by young visible minority immigrants who seem to hate white people and have zero work ethic. And this lack of work ethic and incompetence that seems to derive from their sense of entitlement, is everywhere. I first noticed this almost a decade ago in middle aged housewives working in retail. But it's spread like a virus.

    I think the cement production argument requiring petroleum is flawed. You could argue that the extraction and production part could be electrified - I mean using electrical vehicles and machinery

    • @bunsw2070
      @bunsw2070 Рік тому

      And how is that a solution? Does electricity fall out of the sky in unlimited quantities? You going to make steel and aluminum and glass and fertilizer and run ships and trucks and trains with electricity? Green energy will destroy the earth. The powers that be are doing everything that is the worst thing possible and using global warming as their excuse. And almost everybody goes along with it because they want to believe in their fantasy reality. We're never getting electric cars. They're doing that so we don't have cars at all. They're getting rid of farming. You think that's a good idea?

    There's no time to waste. We've frittered away 50 years of knowing this crisis was coming. Should US adopt California standards usage could drop 30-40%. Significant number of roads are useless including huge mall parking lots. US road widths are wasteful. Each inch not laid makes an impact. Frankly there's many many opportunities to at least lower growth rates of FF usage. US military largest FF user globally could easily shave off usage. Buying time matters. Disagree on disparaging electric transportation. High speed rail is electric and US has very little. Doing nothing is unacceptable, irresponsible and a national security threat. If you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got . We either change by choice or physics will do it for us with zero respect for nations friend or foe.

    do not worry about not having access to fossil fuels. capitalism is a magical creative force. capitalism will create a wealth of new technologies. just like that. just say capitalism

    Plenty of land to feed all the humans on the planet without fossil fuel derived fertilizer. The problem is land use and people who don't want to get their fingernails dirty.

      Permaculture including nitrogen-fixing plants offers excellent soil fertility without chemo fertilizer. But, 8 BILLION OMNIVORES? Vegan is delicious, and so sensible if we want to maximize humans on the planet *_at the same time._*
      often overlooked is the number of HUMANS IN FUTURE generations that we should be looking out for, by limiting humans in this generation.

    • @RickLarsonPermacultureDesigner
      @RickLarsonPermacultureDesigner Рік тому +1

      @@EvolutionWendy Don't even need nitrogen fixing plants. Just need to rearrange the soil back to bacteria & fungi which produces plenty of nitrogen.
      And in no way am I typing this will happen, humans will no doubt continue to agri-gate lands until the soils fail, even with all the chemicals fertilizers being applied.

      @@EvolutionWendy Do the math, how much is grown on a small holder intensely managed lot/acre versus seemingly endless monocropping. If humans grew the food they ate it would require about 4% of the land now under modern agricultural methodology.

    I think it was very clever of the oil industry to pave our country with its waste. I wonder what the long term effects that has on the environment?

    It would be interesting to see if the "cold fusion" tech could help in the future for our energy demands.. the LONG future of course. 🫤
