- IPA Executive Director Daniel Wild says WA Senator Fatima Payman clearly thought about quitting the Labor Party for a "long period of time".
"It seems like it was something that was rehearsed and thought about for a long period of time," he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
"It is completely incompatible with representative democracy because your job as an elected member is to represent everybody in your constituency."
Australia has become so soft and vulnerable to allow someone like Fatima to be a senator..

This is the first time I have heard her speak and she sounds like she is a high school student. 1681 votes dose not mean your representing Australians. Religion should never be in politics. We are a multicultural multi denomination country worthy of equal representation for all. She seems to have forgotten the true value of the freedom she has been afforded here in Australia. She can support her faith and do her job without forcing others to bend to her way of life in a free society. She then wonders why others are angered by her actions. The resolution she was asked to support had a clause about recognizing a 2 state solution. This of course is the entire sticking point around why conflict has occurred since the 1940s. The Palestinian state 'constitution' says the State of Israel has no right to exist and Palestinians are expected to do their duty towards that end result and that is what Payman believes too.
