Im new to this...is the TBS crossfire RX and Taranis controller how he gets such long range? WHat else is required to get that kind of range?

So for longer range stuff like this, does a smaller racing style drone have more benefits over a standard size quadcopter? Thanks for your help
Hmmmm. I guess it depends on how you wish to fly. If you want smooth, long flights, go for something with less acrobatic performance but more stability and efficiency. If you want to be able to flip around and be really fast, then go with the racing drone, knowing you're sacrificing flight time considerably

nope, not a single breakup for all of these flights (besides breaking LOS). 5.8 UNIFY PRO ... works pretty well ;)

Only thing I don't like about the unify Pro, is the connection. The one I bought is a POS, the pig tail moves around where it is connected to the board, and no matter what I do to secure it, it gets a bad picture with lines and interference. Maybe I got a bad one, I don't know, but I feel like I lost money on that purchase. I had to go back to my old Tx, I just had better results with it. Same goes for the PNP-50. I bought 2 of them form Rotor Riot, and had nothing but bad luck with them. The first one came with no software on it, and I had to wait for another one. When it finally came, it came with NO wiring to use it, so I had to source the plugs for it. When I finally got it to work, it was hard to see the display, and I could not find any way to darken it. I figured I just got a bad unit, such is the law of averages when you buy from China, so I got another one. That one never made it off the bench, when I was soldering the Bridges inside to select the voltage, I had it wrong the first time, so I had to open it back up and do it again. Well I guess my iron was too hot maybe or something, but the pads to select voltage melted off! Now it was just useless I see everybody talking about how great TBS stuff is, I'm just wary now from my two experiences, and am afraid to buy anything else. I want to like TBS products, but so far I am not impressed. I feel , for the money you pay for the stuff, it could be a little more durable, like KISS products. The way they have they're stuff made, looks a bit more high quality, with Gold solder pads that are larger, and can take a little more heat. I don't know, maybe it's just my cheap iron lol. I really want to like your guy's stuff, and don't mean to be rude, or knock it, I see a lot of things I want to buy, I'm just afraid to spend the money again and get let down.

Its because a lot of things. maybe raisins. But I can't wait to see this 7 inch miniquad. I have been waiting a long time to see one of these.
7" prototype will have props in view in superview mode.

great flights. before I read that you use 7" props I thought - cant be possible - but yes, looks doable. so nice to dive down with a quad - the video looks super smooth compared to shaky vids from wings that everyone is wanting back... But Snow? Dont wanna see this now :)greez, Schim

It felt faster when it was planes... and you seem to agree, you didn't feel the need to speed up parts of the descent back then, amirite?

7" props gets you around 7-8mins of aggressive flying with 2200mAh 4S.

Which crossfire receiver were you using for this? The standard receiver? Or the micro?
@team blacksheep, i dont know if you guys have any plans for this, but ive been thinking of this since it was introduced. was wondering if you guys will ever release longer arm with other motors for 6-10 inch props because the modularity of this beast can basically incorporate every users need. for example. if you want to have a longer flight time for shooting longrange proximity videos . you can swap it for a 8 inch size , if you know what i mean

Where are the wings downhill?
Everybody want´s to fly a multirotor, so they use a multirotor.
Multirotor@mountain-downhill = Lame!
So they must speed up the video sometimes ;) Very nice video anyway.
Every aircraft for it´s use... wing for longrange and downhill! Multirotor for the short fun in between.
IKR? Who needs 32bit FCs for this, when 1battery+1receiver+1ESC+1motor+2servos = better result

this was flown with a Triumph on one side, and a TBS Tango as the VRx.
