Just want to point out that the classic open wells are a bit of a mixed bag now. Yes, they give you a water source far from a lake, but it is tainted and needs to be boiled/cooked before drinking. The real 5-star base locations now are the ones with a hand-pump style well. Those provide clean water even after power shut-off. At least until plumbing is fixed, those are the clear winners of "bases that don't have gas pumps." There's one at the T-junction north of Irvington Speedway that I've been living at, with a convenient fishing pond nearby, some outbuildings for special storage, and enough open space to set up a small animal farm. Did I mention the fishing pond? You've not lived until you've eaten 300 units of hunger in one sitting.
The little farm across the lake from the cultist compound south of echo creek has one and the mansion north of muldraugh with all the crafting stations has the hand pump too. One of those massive 45 weight fish was the first fish I ever caught. lol. Need either a fireplace or the big industrial oven to cook a single fillet.
As a fellow member of the 'fat finger' club, constantly mistaking the 'W' for 'Q', I stand with you in solidarity, my keyboard comrade!

First farmhouse is sweet but the second??? Possibly the best long-term site I've seen yet.
