  • Begin with 10 feet of cotton rope. If you purchase a polyester-cotton combo, remove the polyester. Singe both ends to prevent fraying.
Using 5/8 dowels, screw an eyelet into each end. Tie two washers into the centre of your 10' rope. Measure 3' and knot each side through the eyelet. Then, add a knot in the centre to complete your triangle.
To make your solution, add the following ingredients and stir lightly:
    6 cups of water
1/2 cup of Dawn dish soap
    1/2 cup of cornstarch
    1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon personal lubricant (we used KY Jelly)

Joy dish soap works better then Dawn dish soap pluss 4 drops of Glisern. 1 cup of Joy Soap and 1 cup of water and 4 drops of Glisern to help keep the bubbles together and the dryer weather.

We couldn't get the mixture to "slick" in the cotton wand. It almost worked in smaller plastic commercial bubble wands. We increased the detergent and lube quantities too. Is it silicone based lube? Why is the corn starch and baking powder necessary?

Cottage Life it didn't work for me... the only difference is that I used full cotton rope... do you think that may be the problem?

It's tricky! We found, it had to be done on a very calm day without any wind. A very slow walk backwards with the open wand seemed to work the best.
