PC Longplay [746] Cosmophony

Cosmophony is a short and simple music game where you dodge obstacles and shoot a few things.
It has five songs and it's on Steam, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U. (That's a lot of platforms.)
It tries to sell itself as an extremely hard game, but it's not THAT bad. Either way, I quite enjoyed it.
The game is not without its flaws though. For one, there's multiple parts where you really have to know the whole thing perfectly by heart. For example 11:43 you have to go to the second right lane so the "train" that comes towards you from the lane you're on hits the cluster hidden behind the wall. So it becomes a bit of a memory game. Usually in music games it's at least theoretically possible to beat the levels perfectly if you're good enough even if you haven't seen the level before because you're shown the notes or whatever beforehand.
And since I have some space to rant here, I'll compare this game to Audiosurf. I know loads of people like Audiosurf, but for me it just doesn't work. It can be a fun way to listen to your music, but from game perspective, procedurally generated levels will never come even close to actually designed ones, and I really enjoy how the levels fit the music here.
If you like games like this, also try Super Hexagon and The Impossible Game. (Both are on Steam and mobile platforms.) Or just go get 100 score on Terry Cavanagh's version of Flappy Bird: terrycavanaghg... -
