9:51 sophy ridge asked a simple question and Mrs May could not answer it honestly because Mrs May knows that once the UK is in the Irish backstop we are trapped!!!
We voted on getting our independence back !!!! All May thinks about is putting us back in as part of the agreement, let's have our Brexit the one we voted for!!!!!!
The EU has treated the UK like crap. Luckily for them, there are loads very feminine men in the UK nowadays who still support them. The support for Remain otherwise is not very strong. Despite 90% of the media supporting their cause during the Referendum, they still lost 48-52%.
Why were things complicated by releasing the “backstop” and separation proposed agreement this week WITHOUT the final working deal proposal? So many people seem to think that this IS THE ACTUAL DEAL being proposed.....
One of the 20+ MPs who've written no confidence letters is so comical. When did he write that letter ? On the day Brexiters won. OMG, 2+years ago. How desperate the Remainers are !
A great question for the PM would have been "What *incentive* does the EU have to let the UK out of this proposed withdrawal period?" It's not a question of an insurance policy, because an insurance policy is something that 1.) has a defined beginning and a defined end, and 2.) is taken out against an event that is *unlikely* to happen. This "backstop" is something that *is* likely to happen. So it is exactly not like an insurance policy.
The problem is she might be able to push this deal through, whether they vote it out or not, she has prerogative powers, they will only get a meaningful vote, that is why she should be voted out through no confidence.
Reflecting back on this video clip 4 years on, remember being angry with her because I didn't trust her, and I was against Brexit. I felt this was not the time for a Remainer MP to take the country into. After the fiasco we have to today, I'm big enough to state I was wrong on both accounts: I was wrong to distrust her (she is honest, whatever I believe of her politics), and I was wrong in thinking that a Brexiteer should lead us into Brexit.
