Pikmin 2 - Boss Rush Cave

- This is a Pikmin 2 hack created by Node from the Pikmin 2 Speedrunning Discord.
The purpose is to emulate all of the final floor situations back to back.
Notes:
- Since I used an incomplete file, some of the bosses dropped special treasures. I didn't bother collecting any because it would waste time.
- At the moment, it is not possible to create the empress bulblax fight from Hole of Beasts in other caves(she doesn't give birth and has less HP only in Hole of Beasts).
- The Burrowing Snagret has less HP because only Snagrets in White Flower Garden are buffed with an HP boost. - Ігри
I love how purple and yellow pikmin are so OP in this game that theyre all you need to beat every boss
Yellow pikmin are nowhere near op, they just happen to be good pikmin choices to fight certain boss
Especially for gluttons kitchen! Only purples can really take out the cute breadbugs but not only that there’s a lot of anode beetles that yellows have to take care of.
@@Kelpyunderthesea purples are better for anode beetles because you dont have to aim them

The Emperor Bulblax is the weakest boss in pikmin 2
@@randonesia9275 It's between him and Giant Breadbug for me, HECK, even Empress Bulblax, the first boss, is More difficult, and her later fights are actually some of the tougher ones!
@@spikeyrex5873 yeah the Empress Bulblax killed most my pikmin by flinging them to the middle of her body the rolling then that side but thankfully she left enough pikmin to carry the treasure
Id say that the too three easiest bosses are
1. Breadbug
2. Beady long legs
3. Emperor bulblax

Well, Man-at-legs can be quickly killed just by bombarding it it with Purple Pikmin. (Does not work in the Wii version.)

One thing I can never understand is why is Emperor Bublax so much smaller in this game than he was in the 1st one,
I just assume the one from the first game was way older
There's atheory that the one in the first one is the Umibozu; because it has Olimar's treasure(his safe) and disolves into liquid after dying

I really got to return to Pikmin 2 and continue the Hole of Heroes, I stopped because I got to the floor with the Piligated Snagret.
Here's an easy way to kill them.
Make sure you're using overhead camera and throw purples with you're pointer circle on the snagrets head shadow on the ground cause that way you can throw them directly at there heads
The scariest part is that there are 2 Louie's
could this be considered a legitimate speedrun category then?
and in that sense, you would need to set up what defines the boss as being dead, because you could exit the level in mid death animation. each of the bosses have different deaths, so maybe youd need a universal key to go by on what signifies the boss as being dead. Maybe you could use the sound of the treasure reward being spawned, however i think that the treasures could be annoying and should be taken out in the sense of speedrunning.
I think you should start with whatever combination of pikmin you have, and no sprays. Whatever sprays you get in the floors will be your available sprays.

Perhaps a ROM Hack of Pikmin 2 could replace Challenge Mode with Boss Rush, and have each boss act as a Challenge rather than one long dungeon, giving the optimal amount of each Pikmin for each boss.
On top of that, there could be two separate hacks: one normal and one minimalist - minimalist being the least amount of Pikmin needed to beat the boss in a reasonable manner - to simulate what players might go for, since there are low-Pikmin any% and 100% speedruns alike.
The sound of the bread bug was totally funny

I have many spicy sprays, and have hardly ever used them that much, and only have 2 caves left. So i don’t think i have to worry about the Titan Dweevil. ( Quick update, I beat the game! And i got every treasure and completed the piklopedia!)
Btw. For the TD, yellows are the best to use cause they can reach the weapons easy and the order I recommend getting the weapons off is
Monster Pump 1st (because he can hit anywhere on the entire floor and you have to keep switching captains)
Comedy Bomb 2nd (because it covers the whole arena and if you get hit by the poison, you might not be able to whistle and save the pikmin)
Flare Cannon 3rd (I guess because it's easy to avoid)
And Shock Therapist last.
The reason why it's best to attack the electric weapon last is because yellows are immune to it and if he uses it while there's still other weapons on his body, you can attack them with no trouble whatsoever

I think it’s probably a glitch, I don’t think the waterwraith is supposed to spawn like this, so it probably got confused on which music to play.
Im surprised they didn't do this in the core game, a boss rush cave on Wistful Wild just as an extra challenge would've been cool.

Hope of Heroes wasn’t really a pure boss rush. Would have made more sense as an extra mode or even a challenge mission.

My boss order is: Empress Bulblax 1, Burrowing Snagret, Giant Breadbug, Beady Long Legs, Emperor Bulblax, Man-At-Legs, Ranging Bloyster (then debt repaid), Raging Long Legs, Segmented Crawbster, Empress Bulblax 2, Water Wraith, Titan Dweevil
as the person who created this romhack, the boss order was agreed upon by multiple speedrunners, the thing that bothers me, however, is that the empresses didn't behave the way they should because the caves are stupid
The water wraith is the most dangerous boss in the game

Honestly the hardest boss except of final boss I had the most trouble was the big goopy spider

Those are the titan dweevils most threatening attacks for the strategy I use, so I'd rather take those treasures off first.
I don’t find the Flare Cannon deadly, but only the Monster Pump. My order is: Monster Pump, Comedy Bomb, Shock Therapist, Flare Cannon (I don’t bring reds).
Once I knock off the Monster Pump, the Titan Dweevil is pretty much toast.
