I am sure you knew my dear friend Tommy Plyler. I miss him. By the way, having played beach music for the past 30 years, I have played your song more times than I can begin to count.
Just saw The Catalinas 3 weeks ago in Georgetown, SC. The crowd went crazy when they did this. And Johnny Barker was there jamming on the keyboard’s with a slight smile of satisfaction that people still get excited about his anthem to summer and Beach Music. Can’t wait to see the Catalinas again
❤ One of my all time favorite beach music songs.y husband and I loved the beach. He is gone now. This really made me smile. Thanks for the music Johnny.
Summer Time so Always Calling Me!! I am sitting here in the sand at Wrightsville Beach, N.C on November 23, 2020 watching the waving wash away troubles and CORONAVIRUS!!! 😎🌞⛵🏖👣🙏🌍
I heard the group in Charlotte, N.C. I worked three summers at Landmark Hotel M.B.S.C. early 1970's and loved every moment!! Great times and memories!!!!!
Dade, I worked at O.D. summers of 68 and 69. Went to the "Pad' almost every night, and caught alot of good bands at Myrtle Beach. Those were some good times!

@@dadesherman3530 I'll probably listen to Carolina Beach music until the day I die. A friend of mine, Greg Elkins, used to play for the _Coastline Band_ and now is with the _Blackwater Band._ They're very popular. I really envy him... it's like he gets paid to never have to grow up😃 It's sad though to go to Myrtle Beach and see all the rotten changes they made... the old Pavilion is just heartbreaking 😪
my mom's from NC, This Is The Best Beach Song I Ever Heard, I Wish I Lived Down There, But I'm In Ohio, Many Many Miles Away... I Miss Going To Myrtle Beach, But Now I Heard Myrtle Beach Is Bad, Like Many Sharks And Everything Is Bad Down There, I Remember My Picture There In Our Tiny Place Right Next To The Beach..
This and so many others bring back 70s Myrtle Beach memories, the smell of Hawaiian Tropic, the georgeous girls in bikinis, sound and smell of the Atlantic Ocean, being on Ocean Boulevard and on top of the Pavillion. All memories I'll cherish the rest of My days!!!!!

A LOT of memories !!!!!!
Love this vibe y'all ❤
First time I heard this song was in Greenville NC with Steve Hardy in Attic..
I remember this past winter
I told myself to settle down
And I seriously
tried to do just that
Here I am with everything
So beautiful and green
And I don't believe I've
Told myself what I mean
Maybe someday soon
I can feel this way
year 'round
But it's summertime
And I don't want to
stay in this town, no
I want to sit there in the sand,
(sit there in the sand)
watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair
(I know it isn't fair)
'cause you might really care
But it's
diff'rent now,
The summertime's calling me.
(Instrumental)
I want to sit there in the sand,
(sit there in the sand)
watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair
(I know it isn't fair)
'cause you might really care
But it's
diff'rent now,
The summertime's calling me.
I don't think I'm ready
To develop a routine
When it's cold and
snow's on the ground
It's a diff'rent scene.
Maybe someday soon
I can feel this way
year 'round
But it's summertime
And I don't want to
stay in this town, no
I want to sit there in the sand,
(sit there in the sand)
watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair
(I know it isn't fair)
'cause you might really care
But it's
diff'rent now,
The summertime's calling me.
I want to sit there in the sand,
(sit there in the sand)
watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair
(I know it isn't fair)
'cause you might really care
But it's
diff'rent now,
The summertime's calling me.
I want to sit there in the sand,
(sit there in the sand)
watch those golden tans go walking by
I know it isn't fair
(I know it isn't fair)
'cause you might really care
But it's
diff'rent now,
The summertime's calling me.
It's pretty cold right now so Summertime is calling without a doubt.
