This video is a tutorial on Circles. Please make yourself a revision card while watching this and attempt my examples. Straight away then move to my video on Circles 2 - Exam Questions 8. This video is for students attempting the Higher paper AQA Unit 3 Maths GCSE, who have previously sat the foundation paper. Explanations are aimed at being as simple as possible and so students who previously did the Foundation paper can access. They would also be useful for students who have always sat the higher paper. www.hegartymaths.com www.hegartymaths.com/

For me fractions are always best. Much more useful but decimal is acceptable. Mr H

These videos were just tailored for students not sitting the higher. They cover the majority of the course. Vectors are in my gcse higher revision playlist and well as equations of proportion. Only topics not with videos are transformations, graph transformations and drawing quadratics. glad the videos help!

    Wouldn't the perimeter ( 11:30 ) be P=6Pi + 12 ?

The answer is 18 cm. Is that right ?
0.5 X 2 X pie X 6 = 6π. This is half the arc. Then add 12cm which is the diameter which = 18 cm for the perimeter or 18π...

    • @OmerAdam49
      @OmerAdam49 5 років тому

Yes he has forgotten multiplying by half. Should be 30.8CM

ABSOLUTELY! Maths is maths and there is so much cross over between AQA and EDEXCEl. But just make sure you have a copy of your syllabus to check now and again. Stuff like circles, trapezia, quadratic formula and all standard maths will be in both boards

Sir, you say this playlist is for students who were "previously doing foundation and trying higher" so does that mean the playlist is for the basic Unit 3 knowledge or absolutely EVERYTHING in Unit 3? I am an originally Higher paper sitting student and am sitting Unit 3 early, on March the 6th so I need to know.......
Your videos are great btw and really clearing things up for me
    THANKS

Thank you so much for these videos! I'm so glad I found your channel a few days ago. My exam is on Wednesday (AQA Unit 3 Higher) and I'm really hoping/trying for that A* and these extra bits of revision/clarification of some parts that I do not fully understand might just do it for me! Once again, cheers

Its under the Abs button with two squares on top of each other. type 60 then that button then 360 - that should do it. If still stuck just use brackets and type (60 divide sign 360 ) x the pi r squared for example.
    Best of luck!

thanks I really appreciate your hard work. The difference between your work and other people is that you do go over the concept before treating the exam questions. Although my children are doing edexcel higher but I will ask them to follow the way you are doing it in the AQA Maths as Maths is the same anywhere you go as you rightly said. Thanks again for your hard work

    Hi,
Thank you for your help. I am an adult learner preparing for the higher tier paper ths coming Tuesday and Friday, as is everyone esle I expect.
I am not the brightest maths student and you talk about doing 60/360 on your calculator. Could you please tell me how I do that. I have tried reading the instruction manual and I have tried to google the answer but no one gives the answer as plain as you do.
BIG thanks for all your help.
