This video is a tutorial on Bearings. Please make yourself a revision card while watching this and attempt my examples. Straight away then move to my video on Bearings 2 - Exam Questions 22. This video is for students attempting the Higher paper AQA Unit 3 Maths GCSE, who have previously sat the foundation paper. Explanations are aimed at being as simple as possible and so students who previously did the Foundation paper can access. They would also be useful for students who have always sat the higher paper. www.hegartymaths.com www.hegartymath...

Also Hegarty: "95"
Also also Hegarty: *Forgets the degrees sign on every single one*
thank you so very much...... after an hour of explanation in the classroom and still not understanding bearings, i finally understand them and really do appreciate your approach to teaching, easily explained and easily understood, many many thanks now so very much older and dare i say it wiser :-)
after watching this Ive really got my bearings on the subject !
Thank u so much. This video helped me more than my teacher.
If you can use corresponding angle theorem then it is good idea to use it. Alternatively if you measure accurately you should also be fine. Prefer to use corresponding able theorem where you can. Glad ideas help. Mr hegarty
what is the app that u use for solving
Thank you so much. I'm in an advanced math class so your videos really help for revision for tests! Thanks again. :)
Your videos are definitely one of the best on UA-cam. In easy way you can explain everything. Currently I am doing revision prior to my the last exam. I hope to get A* as a final grade, and I couldn't find any other videos which in such easy way could explain me bearings. I need also revise transformations of the graph (sin and cosine) and I hope that you have this covered in one of yours videos.
Thank you this really helped as i have a test just after the holidays and I didn’t understand this at all
Exam tomorrow, watching this now- obviously didn’t pay attention in class. Thx for

Please do the new GCSE spec!
Hey mate, as far as I'm aware Hegarty maths is still quite a good resource. I never understood Sim. Equations, but thanks to Heg. I managed to get that section right in my most recent test.
I'm fairly confident this online playlist bumped me from a C(5ish) to a B(6). Hoping to get an A (7) in my finals this summer. I've prepared the rabbit's foot.
Also, just FYI I'm Yr 11 currently, so if you're in a lower year the above boundaries are complete nonsense to you. Why did they change the system so much? X
BMSR Ikr and do u do exam with AQA ? Maths?
meh you get used to it
Agreed! Would be super useful if Hegarty Maths maybe covered the new stuff in the curriculum if they haven't already covered it
wow cant believe that i dont understand this piece of cake O.o i just dont get the basic. thank you so much
You're very welcome. Best of luck!
I don't necessarily need to measure the bearings by protractor if the question have provided the angles right? For example ' Bearings of B from A is 060 what is the of bearing C from B'. That sorta question. I just have to figure it out without using protractor right?
thanks sir what a lovely video has helped a lot without u all my questions regarding bearings would have been wrong
wow!!! This is simply superb! I'm so, so glad to have found this.
Man you saved my life 2 minutes ago i dint know what a bearing means
tysmm for this!! i have my bmat tomorrow and this helped me recap so much!!
hegartymaths is awesome, please do more videos!
Mr-Hegarty, You're a life saver.
Thanks to you & your awesome videos. I got an A* in maths :3
Keep it up & hope to see more from you. :)
Thanks this will help me in my exam coming up next week
I don`t know what I`m missing here. I observe that in Trigonometry an angle measured clockwise is considered a negative angle. I must, then, simply accept that all Bearings are positive and measured clockwise ?
Then why not make Trig angles +ve in the clockwise direction ?
very useful tutorial mate. i hope u go abit deeper into this topic in ur upcoming vids
Great explanations thank you very much. Could you please let me know what tools you are using to write and measure via protractor.
check at 13;03.he measure 60 degree, and reflex angle is then 300. and he says it is 360. please correct it
The 60 degree angle and reflex angle of 300 make a full circle that is 360 degrees.
Can someone tell me the name of the application he is using to teach geometry online?or any other applications I can find ruler, protractor,compass,...thanks
wtf happened at 7:09 it sound like someone slapped you

Again, thanks. Your videos help a lot!
Omg, i finally understand how to find the bearings!
Why do you measure anti-clockwise when finding a from c
To be honest it could be either but more likely non calc but as I say it could be either really. Good luck tomorrow!
this had really helped thanks Heagarty math and are you coming to glenmoor and winton acadamies to sign our math book
Thank you so much, this video really helped me! I think what you're doing is great!!!! :)
In your first example, you drew 2 lines, one for (A) and one for (B) from north as a starting point, but how long are they actually? Because it is hard to say if they are equal in size.
Ashraf pathaan it doesn't matter it is just so you can measure it easily with a protractor so you can line up the 0 line
thank you so much, this was really helpful!
thank you! I have my non calculator exaam tomorow, would bearings be in it or in the calculator paper, or maybe both?
welldone sir, this is a great video. thanks
