Interestingly, in 2015 DARPA challenge, half of robots are made by Boston Dynamics (Atlas model). You can see how dumb those robots did, too. The only difference between the DARPA challenge and the Boston Dynamic video is like this; Christopher Reeve can't fly, but he can in Superman movie. Scripted or Not.
@@tcalvinheyThe difference is that the Atlas used in DARPA is an outdated version BostonDynamics sold once their proprietary technology developed. Atlas is a series of robots, not a model.
That was funny. Nice thing is, it did a few things all on its own, without any person holding its hand, so to speak. Sadly, it took far too long to process a thought. About 500 people, one at a time could have done the same set of tasks in less time. It's a step forward, but a small one.
Can’t wait for my robot dentist to drive his ATV to the office, fall in the door way and drill my face off. Then make and awkward escape up the stairs.
@@glennwalker5036 you are thinking of Bosstown Dynamics. Boston Dynamics makes real robots. Mrs Bojangles: the robots in this competition are performing a range of tasks. the BD robots would not be able to complete this competition because they can't drive and most can't grab a tool to cut out a hole. Also, yes BD robots look more impressive but they've been in development much longer and they have a more narrow focus in capabilities

Everyone watches Boston Dynamic's robots and is like "omg skynet"...cure for that is watching DARPA's robot act like a blackout drunk.

This is one of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen in my life.
These robots are already so close to being usable in dangerous situations.
Lots of robots fell down, but only this one got up again:
0:51 falls down
1:12 gets up again
***** ..and actually falls at 0:26 too, and rights itself
It also makes a mistake while cutting and recovers .
I don’t understand, this video was uploaded two years ago but your comment is from 6 years ago.
This fool been out all night drinking, knowing he has finals.

Sorry but after seeing the latest Boston Dynamics robots & their progress, this one is not impressive at all.
Boston Dynamics robots are all CGI. This is what robots are actually capable of today.
