    Great Video Pretty soon with Big Brother, we will not be allowed to install Solar ourselves off grid. What is the world coming to keep up your informative, honest videos

    Lovely ep and set up, I run a 545 watt Jinko double sided Solar farm Panel, It's between 40 and 50 volts I run it into a Kickass 100volt to 40 amp MPPT controller, the panel makes between 30 to 40 amps into my batteries,

      The panels I have on my roof are also Jinko panels, 270 watts each. I have a Kickass 40 amp DC to DC charger Dave gave me, so I will be playing around with that in an up and coming project.

      @@TheSimpleLivingAussie ok cool, but there only 32volt, I love the separate Mppt controller as will take upto 100 volts as can use the House panels, for my 4wd and camping setups.

    my plan is low voltage with dc appliances no inverters, i have latronics off grid inverters but dc appeals to me.

      Yes, I am moving that way with DC as well. One challenge with DC is volt drop with long cable runs, same with appliances that draw high current. So I am tweaking my setup with a balance of DC and AC.
      I have a Latronics 24 volt 1,800 watt inverter I have had for around 15 years and it still works, they are a great inverter.

    wow, each of our 3 strings of 12 bi-facial panels are 446.64 volts DC at 4,860 watts each string for a total of 14,580 watts.

    Well done Gleno. One must not pull for one’s hair out ! Let’s go back to Amish type technology ! I’m h ! You mean a fire place/heater/cooker with actual wood ?? Someone will chip in on that as well ! If we go completely bush the what ? The man me boggles ! On ya mate !!

      Yes the country / world has gone crazy for now. We can't make any carbon but we can't use green energy either. I think it has a lot to do with money and control, but we can't go saying that on social media now can we, with our distruth and mis information laws coming in 🤫🤣

    maybe a panel on the roof of the territory

    • @TheSimpleLivingAussie
      @TheSimpleLivingAussie  Місяць тому

      Yes I plan to put one on the territory. I just need a key for the roof racks and I can slide them back closer together so I can put on a solar panel.

    I get your cynicism but I suspect that its also the case that this technology is really taking off and plenty of little knowledge types will be fiddling around with it.
    Plenty of stories about 4wd fires etc due to dodgy wiring or whatever else.
    I occasionally watch a sailing channel and their bells and whistles new catamaran is having some major electrical issues that they're struggling to sort out and it was all done professionally.

    • @TheSimpleLivingAussie
      @TheSimpleLivingAussie  Місяць тому +1

      yes I went to sort out an issue with solar on a caravan once, that was installed by a professional. There was so much dodginess that I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
      I think industry standards only protect when people follow the standards and no matter how tight they can make them, there is always plenty of people that don't follow them.
      But it is getting harder to follow the standards which encourages people to abandon them and do their own thing..... unfortunately.

      @@TheSimpleLivingAussie That's true but then if you have an issue or something like a fire and it's not signed off correctly your insurance will likely be void as well.
      Every time I get even a small job done we get a certificate of compliance given to us.
      Personally I've seen lithium fires and I wouldn't want to be asleep if something went wrong in the system.
      Paying top dollar for a professional and getting a rubbish job or ripped off sucks big time as well.
