I would like to know what ship nanocore uses the other data banks and chips other than combat. Why does an industry nanocore still use combat parts instead of industry? How can I put the signature and defense parts to use?

I recall using the signature ones for my belli cov ops core. Perhaps the defensive ones are for the guardian lign of ships?

All nanocores have come in one of four classes ('Offense', 'Defense', 'Industry' or 'Disruption'); as listed on their header page.
Whilst the ship type is typically only anchored to only one nanocore class (eg Apocalypse Striker has 'Offense' nanocores), there are variants. Equally, nanocore families (Eg Ascension) aren't exclusively tied to one class; there are both Offense and Disruption variants.
The nanocores consumables for each class are static though, as follows:
Offense = Combat Data chips + Combat Learning databanks + Triangular Structure (orange spheres)
Defense = Damage Monitor chips + Defense Technical databanks + Circular Structure (orange spheres)
Industry = Construction Stream chips + Industry Efficiency databanks + Sphere Structure (orange spheres)
Disruption = Signature Stream chips + Signature Recognition databanks + Klein Bottle Structure (orange spheres)

I've tested it out before, you don't get any materials back for partially upgraded attributes unfortunately...

I don't think this is a good trick, because the manufacture of expert skill chip need an especific chip and databank type, when you do this well you lose that.
As an expert chip manufacturer I can say this is bad.
Btw they are probably talking about my video on the nanocore reroll 😅
