    You guys need to get James to Europe and pick through the Touring with him!! would also be a fun video idea too!

      I agree with you however for James he would have a problem is the transmission because here in North America they are fitted with torque converter not an automated manual transmission which is what they have in Norway in Europe

    • @bussmagasinet1
      @bussmagasinet1  2 місяці тому

      We hope to get him to Europe in the near future :D

      He wouldn’t struggle at all. It's super easy to drive.

    6:06 spot on there Tom and Magne and I wonder why Automated Manual Transmisions are the norm in Norway and Europe for coach buses? This is not the case here in North America where Torque Converter Transmission like the B500R 6:21 is the norm for all cases. The exceptions are Trailways of NY selected H3-45s I-shift and formerly Greyhound Canada D4505 ZF Astronic. My favourite motorcoach in North America is the J4500/D4505 because here in the Easton, PA area Trans Bridge Lines uses them heavily. The first one has a DD13 with B500R while D4505 uses EPA 2010 Cummins ISX/X12 with the B500R. I wonder if MCI D4520 the latest MCI D series can beat a Scania Touring

    This is no contest. Generally European coaches are far advanced compared to U S coaches.

      @@bussmagasinet1 nope they arent coming! there is one thing you people never talk about for example! in usa you have the outdated jake brakes or engine brakes while in Europe they have Retarder bolted on the gearbox its sigificantly more efficient and capable and works almost like an EV in recuperation mode. also more silent

    And what did you just say? Carrus oy Ajokki Quote from history: "Volvo bought Carrus in 1997, and later Carrus Oy Ajokki was named Volvo Tampere. Volvo shut down the factory in 2008." Now the company operates under the new owners under the name Carrus Delta oy.

    Hands down the J4500 wins. The SCANIA certainly is a nice coach built by a company with rich tradition. Yes the ALLISON fully automatic is king. Interesting the SCANIA is owned by the VW group which also owns NAVISTAR/IC. That would suggest that if they wanted to look into an American version, they could use that division as a foundation. Otherwise great video you guys.

      Yes, this is a matter of taste and traditions. It would have been interesting with an American version of the Scania for sure.

    Little weird to put an American flag behind a Canadian bus on the thumbnail.

    The front and rear overhang seems to be different. Why is that? Just tradition or has it legal explanations?

      European roads are smaller, that requires coaches to have a tighter turning radius.
