- This is a model pattern for most mayfly nymphs, all you need to do is change the hook size and material colour to imitate a whole number of different nymphs. A good pattern to know! Visit my site thefeatherbender.com

I totally agree Barry. You make an important point especially for newer tyers trying to tie a variety of patterns. When they can find a pattern that just needs colour changes then it saves them having to learn so many patterns at once. Great work as usual Barry!!
Thanks Kerry.
Thanks for your input. I appreciate your taking time to answer my questions.
This is the best Mayfly Nymph I've seen. Thanks, and be assured I'll have some of these in my box this season. Beautiful.
Thanks roses, good luck with it.
An alternative to wire/bead weighting that I’ve been *loving* lately is to add a layer of thin CA (thin zap a gap) after tying wire in…adds just enough extra weight to start getting it down immediately. If you’re a small stream fisherman like me, you don’t always want something that plummets to the bottom in 10” of water and this is a good way to add juuuust the right amount of weight. It works well for nymphs, buggers, muddlers (I add it into the gold tinsel of muddlers), whatever wet fly you like…and it has the added benefit of making them nearly indestructible, especially when coupled with UV resin on the whip finish. I’ve had marabou mini muddlers tied this way that have gotten *brutalized* by dozens of brook trout over the course of several trips and they’re still good to go.
Excellent thanks!
Pure pleasure to watch and learn as usual. Thanks from down under in NZ.

Barry, May I ask which bobbin holder that is?
Hi Chris, its the Petitjean TT bobbin holder.
Barry, How long is the bobbin you were using in this video. Great video by the way - as always.
Thanks Ken, Not quite sure about your question?
Barry, bobbins are often sold in Small, Medium and Large sizes. It looked like your bobbin was clearing the vise and hook with no difficulty. Just wondering what size it was- even a measurement from the centerline of the spool to the tip of the bobbin tube would be useful. I'm getting ready to purchase more bobbins and wondered what sizes I should have. Thanks for getting back to me.
Hi Ken, the bobbin I use is the Petitjean bobbin it is only available in one size and takes ALL sizes of spools, but I find that I don't need any other size/ length of bobbin than this one.
Looks Alsome!!..
Thanks Mike.
6:25 ive always fail that one
Its just practice, take your time and practice.
Looks like you were a bit in a rush to tie this pattern... Nice fly though.
