The Beatles were accused on being "unAmerican" for singing this song - to which John Lennon replied - 'how observant - we are not American' lol
Danny Vine I mean they are kinda British.
The question was how they felt about the scrutiny they received in America, for having non-American haircuts. John said it was observable because they weren't American. It wasn't about the song, and the quote was in it 1963.
@@littlebosaMusic I got the quote from the book "Beatlemania Forever”. John was told that the USA ultra-conservatives like the John Birch society accused the Beatles of being pro-Bolshevik. He was told that some were saying Beatles music was un-American. John’s response was “That’s very observant of them.”
As the Beatles were English and not American. Maybe Lennon repeated himself?? Bob Dylan was also accused and also wrote a song about it ("Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues"). The funny thing is that the song’s original title was "I’m Backing the UK" and was a parody on "Back in the USA" by Chuck Berry!

Don't know why this is one of the Beatles songs I listen to most often. The silliness? The rock energy; something less prevalent from one song to the next with the Beatles than other groups of this era. The ability to turn a Beach Boys bop into something maniacally frenetic?

As I get older, the lads' genius becomes increasingly unfathomable.

This song is immortal. Big love from Kazakhstan, ex USSR.
I saw Paul and his band in Vancouver recently, where he related that when he finally got to play in USSR (Red Square) certain commissars invited themselves for an impromptu reception before the act. According to him, the Minister of Defense told him, "Pol, first record I ever buy is 'Love Me Do.'" and then somebody else told him, "Pol, we learn English from your records." Third Guy (who apparently didn't know English) says, "Pol, 'Hello, Goodbye.'"

Well the Ukraine girls really knock us out
They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make us sing and shout
That Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
Aw come on!
Ho yeah!
Ho yeah!
Ho ho yeah!
Yeah yeah!
Yeah we are back in the U.S.S.R.
You don't know how lucky you are boys
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Well the Ukraine girls really knock us out
They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make us sing and shout
That Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
Oh, show us 'round our snow-peaked mountains way down south
Take us to our daddy's farm
Let us hear our balalaikas ringing out
Come and keep our comrade warm
We are back in the U.S.S.R.
Hey you don't know how lucky you are boys
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Oh let us tell you, honey
Hey, we are back!
We are back in the U.S.S.R.
Yes, We are free!
Yeah, back in the U.S.S.R.
Ha ha
Too bad we had the USA otherwise none of them would have been made flity rich. Sad really. We should have never let entertainment turn our heads.

I (Still) ♥️ the Beatles
WE’RE MAKING OUT OF MOSCOW WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
I don't feel this song is getting too much airplay right now.
Lol
It's getting more lmfao
*If anything it's gonna be played more and I'll love every second of it!*
Not being played in Ukraine at the moment thats for sure.
@@Civilized-Joke Ikr, it's a real banger
Big shoutout to my dad for allowing me to grow up with the good stuff from the 60’s and 70’s. Im currently a teenager and I still rock out to the beatles!

What a great music education you recieved . Rowena Suarez of Central , New Jersey and Southern California ( Manila Mesa ) San Diego
This is one of my favorite songs of The Beatles.
The best music The Beatles for me
Apparently this song was from the perspective of a Russian spy in the USA
I heard that too
b phillip, only few people will get that.
@Joy Stinson bruh are you ok?
Synk it’s really a pastiche of California Girls
@b phillip He worked under codename stg. Pepper
The mixes we’ve heard so far sound fantastic and remind me of when I heard these songs for the first time. As with the Pepper remix, this sounds fresh and new, but still completely captures the _feeling_ of the original mix. This year is shaping up to be a good one for Beatles fans.
Hope it will be better than Pepper's remix. It was a mashup of mono and stereo variations. (Pepper is the best in mono remaster version.)
One of their best ever
this is one of the best ones soo far
And George is always on my mind...
*I GOT MY MIND SET ON GEORGE*
Georgia's always on my mind
