I'm always a day or two late, but happy 500 anyway. I'd have to say that is my favorite guitar. I own one. 1980 instead of 60, but I'm dang proud of it. Anything I'm capable of playing, I can play on that guitar and it sounds wonderful. Whoever gets this one is in for a treat.

Rewind in time. Great playing. Great guitar. I' ve had a minty 1959 blond ES330 since 1971 which I got in Wildwood New Jersey. A few years later I was offered a 1959 blond ES335 in Montreal for $500 Canadian. It was a bit faded and had rusty strings so I passed on it. My 330 looked and sounded . Crying over spilled milk since then. Last year I got a 335 dot flame blond to fill the gap; Great looking and sounding guitar to match my 330. This episode just reminded me of all that and I'm grateful for what I have , not what I lost. GOTD 500 Yay!

I just was given (to play temporarily and prepare for sale) an almost unplayed three tone, sunburst, one piece maple neck 1971 Telecaster to enjoy from a friend who bought it from a Fender factory worker who worked at the Fullerton plant during the pre and post CBS takeover days. My friend, the current owner, does not play. He has been moving this guitar around with him since he bought it. It is the proverbial closet queen find. I went to visit him when he moved about two hours from me last year. Shortly after I rolled into his new house, he says "wanna see something nice"? I go "sure". He pulled out the guitar I saw him buy in 1973. I opened the case and said "Maddona"! It was like it just came out of the factory. Original HSC with correct logo. Everything on it down to the smallest screws holding the "F" tuners on it were original. This guitar has never had a screw removed. Not the PG, not the control plate, not the neck. It only had one string change in its lifetime. Talk about "Maddona"! I got it ready for sale. New strings, setup, etc. Sadly I'm gonna have to give it back in a few days.
I wish I sounded that good when I first pick up a guitar for the day. I don’t even sound that good after my fingers get working!!!! Thanks for the GOTD videos. I look forward to them.

Hot dang, I think that's the best sounding 335 I've heard on GOTD. Killer axe!
