Preservation comes in many different forms, whether it be saving a structure, passing along knowledge, or documenting pieces of automotive history and the stories that go along with these individual pieces
If you’re interested in either of these cars which are located near Columbus, Georgia email Billy at Billyzadams@gmail.com Serious inquiries only PLEASE. And if anyone wants to get me an early birthday present, I wear a size ‘57 Ranchero.

My dad had 3 1957 Fairlanes when I was growing up…one that he wanted to restore and 2 for parts cars. He ended up selling them when I was a teenager. I’ve always loved them.

I really like the stories Billy told about his Dad - he sounds like a really interesting man! Painting the engine all different colors - I love it! I imagine he was a wonderful story-teller. Without even seeing your face, your voice gave away which car you were the most excited about. The Ranchero was definitely "you". Such a fun video - all that was missing was Joy and her take on these! Also, thank you for not tasting the oil.

Love looking at these old cars. My mom had a '57 Ford. It was either a Fairlane or Galaxy, not sure, but it was a beautiful car. Thanks for showing us these memories, Robert. Almost like a time machine.

Very fun video. Of course, I wanted to see more of the inside details. Not at all surprised the Ranchero was your favorite. It's got that mullet thing going for it that you like. Lot's of fun to be had in it, I'm sure. I like this video because it will be such a treasure for Billy and his brother to have these memories of his dad and the sentiment attached to the cars recorded for posterity even once the cars are sold. His dad sounds fun. It's the best when someone has a passion for something and watching them light up when talking about it. You could feel the passion Billy's dad had for the cars as Billy was talking about it. Especially with the 15 thousand gear truck. It's cool that he can live on in that way through those stories and that you were able to capture it on a video for them. Loved it all!!

Hi Joy!☺️ Glad you tuned in - what a treat! The stories were definitely fun and the histories were exciting. Yeah, I was curious about all of the interiors, too, but at least we saw some. Upholstered seats were in pretty good shape, too. Considering.😉

@@cindys.9688 They sure were! I love interiors in general - like home interiors and home decor and design and I've begun to appreciate the similarities in the classic cars with how thought through they were and all the personally they were designed with. The textures for sure - from the raised leather designs and pipings to the carpeted doors and floors. But also the "fashion" design aspect of them. It's like the seats are wearing suits - I've seen plaids and pinstripes and faux leather and more. It's all super cool to me!

Really cool! I love all the details - I even understand most of it. I would love to have the Ranchero myself. If Hunt is listening - you can get that up to speed and drive it or haul it right up here to me. 😉Definitely a stark contrast between the 30s and 50s, the engineering of WWII had a lot to do with the rapid change, a forced change. Thank you for such a great tour of these cars and that special "Dad" truck is wonderful. The great memories that surround these is the very best part. Indeed, if they could only talk!! ❣❣👍👍

Yes! My first car was a Ford Fairlane 500. It was black with the exterior "dart" detail red. The interior was red roll and tuck upholstery. I bought it for $300 in 1974 from the original owner. It had been meticulously cared for. They had bought a new car and later said they regretted selling it. Side note, my cousin restored a 60's Mustang and went to the car parts place with his Dad. Asked for a Mustang part and they quoted him the price. His Dad interrupted him and asked for the exact same part for a Fairlane. It was way cheaper!! So the parts were interchangeable!

Billy and I at one time had a car restoration shop and we used the "1 Ton" to haul cars. That thing would pull a house off it's blocks if both transmissions were in low gear. What he said about the brakes was true. Once he had to stop quick when a traffic light changed unexpectedly while we were pulling a car on the mentioned gooseneck trailer and had to downshift both transmissions one after the other to help us stop, because the brakes weren't going to make it happen alone. Good times....lol

My dad was a Ford mechanic so I remember seeing alot of these. I think the Ranchero is probably worth a chunk of change so hopefully the owner does his homework and gets a good price. They're fairly rare especially in that condition. So is the Fairlane. I'm looking for a red and white 66 Ford truck like my dad drove.

Wonder if this video was techy enough for all the car club critics. Funny, I don't see ant of them here....
The interior of the blue and white Fairlane supported the story about that the exterior being gray and white originally. The interior was gray and white.
Enjoyed this video but didn't understand the technical stuff. That's just me.
