      @CH-jj8wk 3 роки тому +1

      @@t0nyc0nde I don't think his comment about "we're all addicted to something" is true, but I do believe we are all filling a void. As a Buddhist, I believe that it is normal to suffer and that that suffering is due to cravings and desires. That's normal and it takes a long time to train yourself to look at those cravings and address them in a healthy way. Hence, we're all filling a void. Even meditation is filling a void because it is driven by a desire to be better, be calmer, be mindful, be happier etc.

    My partner just hit 10 years sober. One of our early dates, after talking about it multiple times, I asked him if I could get a drink and he said that was fine. I left some in the bottom of the glass and we were leaving and he kind of laughed to himself and said, “what are you doing?” I told him I was done and he said, “I would NEVER leave anything in the glass.”
    Chris, I’m so proud of you and how much you’ve grown in yourself. It’s not easy and it’s never over. But I am so glad you have a person like Ian to stand by you and help you to focus on your blooming.
    Love you guys. ♥️

    I'm officially two and a half months sober, I'd almost completely stopped before lock down, and then I lost my job while my partner kept working so I spent my days in bed just drinking. Then I asked them to stop with me, long enough to finish off what was in the house and give me a week without anything, and now they still drink but I'm doing well.

    I’m 21 days clean/sober. Which had been so hard but I can’t keep hurting other people to fill that void, like y’all said. I’m doing this at 15 because I’ve been self harming since I was 10. Drinking and doing drugs for about a year, but I can’t do that anymore. It’s because of you and Ian’s videos that I can keep going and be positive on days where I just want to give in to everything. Thank you both so much.

    Thank you so much, from all the blooms of my heart, for sharing your story and your love. My ex-spouse left me after our therapist and I spoke with him about his alcoholism in 2010. It took him having a massive life threatening health crisis that will affect him the rest of his life to get sober. That part of "I love you so much, that I am willing to lose you for you to survive" is so real. He's now married to his wonderful partner and they have two beautiful children and a business together that he's dreamed of for a decade! We still talk and I will be forever cheering him on and grateful that he is thriving!
    YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR OWN PRESENT! 🌈❤️🌈❤️🌈❤️🌈❤️🌈🌞🌻🌻🌻🌼🌼🌼🌺🌺🌺

    When you said that you can tell people that you went to rehab as if it’s as normal as what you had for lunch. I feel that on SUCH a deep level but in a different context because I am that same way when people ask about my dad. He passed away when I was 3, I was with him when he died and it’s taken years for me to feel like it was okay. I can talk about it like it was yesterday, and it shocks people! They always seem so freaked out but I have felt at peace with it. It’s the same feels that I have recognized in this video, thanks for sharing! 💛

    Also, if you don’t mind (I don’t think I’ve ever heard this in any of your videos) telling us what either of you do for a living or as a career or if you’re blessed to have all you do because of well-off parents/families or inheritances, etc. Shout out to your parents too, as you both seem like well grounded, caring guys (between yourselves of course) and towards others!

    hits a little hard right now when I know that my mum has found me passed out on the floor a couple of times during lockdown. Makes me wonder how often I have been in that place alone and passed out in the past and not even really processed it. It's also great to see someone only a year older than me talk about addiction. I feel like we often think we're too young to be addicts and that we can use that to excuse it but I guess we really can't

    Thank you for sharing your story, Chris! This helps me as I’m currently on my own journey to be sober as well. I definitely agree that the only way over it is through it and there’s a lot of demons to face on the way but seeing a glimpse of how well you’re doing now is inspiring.

    My father was an alcoholic/addict until the day he died (2012). Recovery is one of the hardest challenges one can face and I’m so incredibly proud of you for the strength you’ve shown, Chris. I wish the two of you every happiness life has to offer 💗💗 And thank you so much for sharing your story.

    Thank you. As someone who's trying to better myself but not with addiction, these things still ring true. I need to love myself and look within while also realizing the trauma I've caused and the trauma I've been through. This year has been so hard and I struggle everyday on how I'm going to get through everything.

    Just want to say great job! My 24 yr old son is addicted. First it was xanax, he almost died. He had 5 seizures, 3 with me and I'm forever affected. Then he went to rehab and got clean, but now he's smoking weed again and started using opiates on and off. My heart hurts bc I cant force him into treatment again. 😥
    Keep up the good work Chris! I love hearing stories how people overcome the addiction bc it gives me hope.

    I am fortunate in that, while my father was an abusive alcoholic, I never had a desire to over indulge. And for that I am forever grateful. As such, I don’t claim to fully understand the pain and anguish that someone who’s addicted has to go through to come out the other side, but I genuinely respect and appreciate them for making the journey.

    Good for you Chris. Very much respect to you and your partner, Ian. I understand you two work in synergy. Though for me, when absorbing this video, I absorbed it from my own standpoint; from an addicts’ perspective. I’m not an ‘avid’(?) addict as self-declared, you have much of my respect as a man who is more than ‘willing’ to speak out loud about a topic that is so accustomedly ‘taboo’ for all. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart❤️

Thank you for sharing your story and showing so many that recovery, from alcoholism, mental health, trauma, etc. is possible, it's a long and difficult struggle, but it's so worth it. Thank you, both, for being so open and shining your light so brightly for all to see. So much love and support ❤️
