My great grandmother lived and worked on Oakley Farm. She lived in the little pinkish/red house on the property. She raised 4 children there, 2 boys and a set of twin girls. Im the only granddaughter of one of the twins. I'm really not sure if my great grandmother's and her descendents grew up there. But I suspect it's highly possible since her parents names are unknown she married very young and lived there until her passing in the early 1970s at around age 67 I believe. I found her death certificate online which was completely unexpected and a blessing. I would really like to help in anyway I can and hopefully find out anything about my genealogy. I was told she was of African and Native American Descent, but I'm almost positive she was a mix of European as well.
Fascinating history, Joseph. I'm interested in the AAHA now too.
Thanks!
Thank you for inviting me, Christine and AAHA. Even though my research is far from complete, I hope it will help someone find their ancestors.
