yeah, this album doesn't really get more hopeful, but you will start to see an upward trend where The Clouds mixtape doesn't sound either depressing or hopeful and then Hope album is more hopeful then any of his other albums. On the Clouds mixtape NF experiments a lot with his music, has a TON of different flow changes and cadence's etc so it is definitely worth listening to every song.
He wrote some of these songs when he was at his lowest point and feeling suicidal. This one is tough to listen to because he said in interlude that when Let You Down was at its peak of popularity he felt low and that caused him to spiral out of control because that's what he worked so hard for and it made him feel worse. These songs are him building himself back up and looking for a new purpose in life which is HOPE.
Even though the song is negative and heavy like y'all mentioned it does help me bring me up when I'm really down on myself...so I do believe NFs music also is like a therapy to us his fans just my opinion guys

He performed interlude, then hate myself on this HOPE tour. I saw him August 11th and the whole show was great.
As sad as it is.. this is one of my favorite songs. Definitely some feels in this one.
