Dear Barry☘️ I didn’t know Angelina Jordan made an appearance on The View. Once she started singing you forget that voice came out of an 8 year old until the end and you’re gobsmacked. The acoustic guitar showcased her unique voice beautifully. When the host presented her with the cute toys, her happy face reminded you that she was a just little girl. What a wonderful way to start my week. Thank you dear Barry 🤗

I can't listen to this girl without tears, it goes so deep into my heart. A charming, talented and modest child. Be happy, honey. Greetings from Russia.
Very often, Angelina Jordan was as a very young child together with her mom at Bodil Niska´s "Bare jass café" (Just Jazz Café) in Oslo, listening to the old masters in Bodil´s club/café and record shop. And as a child in Norway it is not all about skiing. Norway is a very "blessed" country in economics and free of charge there is at least one cultural school in every community, After kindergarten and school , children and youths can have professional teachers in music, dance, theathre, fine arts and more. Angelina was not more than six years old when she had professional help in sound studios. So it is not all about winter sports here :)

What helps her look innocent is that she was obviously not fed the questions in advance. I don't think that Rosie knew the answers, either. This song became her signature song in her early career.

If Angelina has a signature song, this is it. She has recorded it many times & each one is unique. It's amazing what she does, she has such vocal skills she sings "on the fly," playing that rasp, vocal fry, tone, vibrato, & other vocal ornaments, as she feels it. She plays her voice like a musical instrument. After her audition on Norway's Got Talent when she was 7, one judge (Lisa) said " You a-r-e the music," & she was so right.
I got a bigger laugh when Lisa said that this girl must have drank whiskey since the day she was born ! ( Paraphrased) .

Thanks Barry! What a great performance! Beyond that there are two things I love about this clip that tell us how special she is. When she says the name of the show is 'The View' it shows she's fully present. When Rosie gives her a hug Angelina never fixes her gaze on the stuffed animals but remains focused on Rosie. She is a wonderful person in my book!

yes, it was an eye opener. That rehersal marked the transition from Angelina the little girl to Angelina the young lady. It's apparent here that she has a pallet of singing techniques that she can splash around at will.

Fly me to the moon, one of her all time favourites! She did so well in the interview, only having trouble remembering the English term for the talent show, translating names is always a challenge... At this young age the traveling and performing in the year she won NGT must have been a real whirlwind, Germany, France, Sweden and USA!
Some people thought she was showing nerves when she stumbled saying 'Norway's Got Talent'. I only know English but, knowing that translating names is challenging is a more likely reason for why she had difficulty. I guess you just have to recall what the name is in the other language.
I too would have loved to see the reaction on the faces of the audience, however the loud applause at the end says is all. Let’s not forget about the professional singer and the guitar player Steve Conte applauding at the end.

She sings the Quincy Jones arrangement which is what Frank Sinatra recorded, she sang it at Quincy's 85th birthday as a personal request from him. This was her 1st American appearance.
Angelina's single "Fly Me To The Moon" still shows up from time to time on the Itunes Jazz Chart.

Barry, thank you for thoughtful reaction to this Barefoot Angel. Forget the amazing voice; I am surprised how composed this 8 yo music prodigy is with no sign of nervousness in front of the crowd in one of the popular TV shows in US.

You'll begin to recognize the different voices she varies depending on the particular song. And her interpretation of the classics to rearrange them to make them hers. Just one note into her songs and our hearts melt with love and a warmth which radiates to a degree impossible to comprehend. We just settle back and listen to our princess do what she loves to do.

Your are right, she has Jazz in her blood at this early age. This is one of her favourite Songs. You can find over 30 different Versions on YT over the years She is so unique, that Quincy Jones invited her to sing the opening Song in his original Version at his 85y Birthday Party in the London O2 Arena when she was 12y.

Great reaction as always and I am praying that all these new UA-cam rules does not mess with the way you do reactions, but you may have to change some things especially on signed artist or TV shows, most of Angelina's are safe. Like other people have said she has done this song many times in different ways. One that I saw was a small video of when she was in Brasil for a concert and she went to see the Jesus statue and it is noisy with tour groups but she was leaning against a railing away from the other people and she looks at the Jesus statue and starts singing this song acapella to Jesus, it is so fitting for a little girl to sing this to Jesus "please be true", "in other words I love you". When I saw this I understood how a small child can sing a song like this with such passion because her perspective on the song is so different than ours. Thank you again for another Angelina video, even though I enjoy all of your video's it is just that she just melts my heart.

How is it possible not to fall in love with this little creature, so shy when she speaks, she is so sure of himself when she sings, regardless of age? This is a great song that Angelina, in her different versions and in different ages, always interprets in an incredible way, with a lot of emotion and talent. In this version, I love Angelina's reaction when the presenter gave her the stuffed animals and there the child who lives inside the singer came out and got emotional, just like it must be for a little girl. A nice moment was when Rosie, who had been quite sarcastic in the interview, at the end of the song tells her, "What did you do?" ❤️😊❤️

Wow, Barry! What a wonderful reactor you are. And you have a fantastic voice. I love your format of listening first, then listening and commenting, and then your final thoughts. It is such a pleasure hearing all that from a true professional. After 40+ years (now retired) as a music educator and jazz musician, I can honestly say I have never heard anyone like Angelina Jordan. Over the years, I had 2-3 students who I considered to be prodigies, but nothing even close to Angelina. You said you wanted to hear her sing different versions of "Fly Me To The Moon". So far, I have found 34 of them on UA-cam, but I know she has done many others. You also said you would like to hear an up tempo version, so here, in my opinion, is the best one. She once sang for Quincy Jones (it's on UA-cam) and he was so impressed that he invited her to open the show at his 85th birthday celebration on June 27, 2018 at the O2 Arena in London singing FMTTM. She was 12. She's is backed by members of the London Symphony Orchestra playing the famous arrangement that Quincy wrote for Frank Sinatra and The Count Basie Orchestra. Hey Barrie. Angelina performed this song when she was 12 y/o at the O2 in London for Quincy Jones’ 85th birthday gala. It was Jones himself who invited her. This song may be Quincy Jones most famous jazz arrangement of his entire career. In 1964 he arranged this song for Frank Sinatra and Count Basie and their version has become arguably THE classic jazz version of this song. The fact that HE asked her to open his show with his song is every bit as mind blowing to me as her performance.
There is no video of the performance but this video combines the audio from that performance with video of a rehearsal ( ua-cam.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/v-deo.html ). FYI, a lot of people will tell you that she’s rehearsing with the London Symphony Orchestra. It was not the London Symphony orchestra, she performed the song with the Senbla Symphony orchestra, conducted by Jeff Buckley.
Angela has described that experienced as the highlight of her musical career so far.
Of course, none of this takes away from her performance on The View. Omg, she was indescribably adorable on that show and what a performance!

Quincy Jones the composer responsible for the arrangement of this song that Frank sang said of Angelina that she is the most talented youth he has seen since Michael Jackson.
Why not watch the song that started it all, her audition for Norway's Got Talent, singing Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday? She made the judges cry.

Rosie should bring Angelina back for a reunion performance once her Debut album drops so the world can see the difference what a few years makes. I have already tried to get Steve Harvey (The morning show) to have Angelina back. He had her on his "LITTLE BIG SHOTS" show back when she was 10/11 years old, and she only came up to his waist. I sent him a letter but never received a response. Now that Angelina has Heidi Klum as a mentor, perhaps she can pull some strings, and get Angelina on some TV shows. She needs the exposure, and Republic Records seems to be asleep at the wheel.

Barry: She has cemented herself in the flow of beautiful music. I have to bring up Dimash. As you know best in the world. He has a female counterpart. Her name is "SO HYANG" she is Korean. She doesn't sing for money or fame, she sings for the comfort of the people. Please check her out. A very good one to start with is "YOU RAISED ME UP", "BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER" the song "EVERYONE" will tear you up. She sings "LEAN ON ME" with Michael Bolton watching her. There is a 600-year folk song in the first half she is an EARTH ANGEL and in the second half she puts her own soon on the song!!!!! The song is "ARIRANG ALONE"!!!

She has a rehearsal version of fly me to the moon she sings with full orchestra for Quincy Jones 85 B-day. One is a better sound quality. I love both her versions of I put a spell on you by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Black and white she is 9 but the other is on German show she is a little older. Bohemian Rhapsody when she’s 13 and she also has a new song that she wrote called Million Miles. And another performance on Norway’s Got Talent “ You Know How I Feel”. These are just a few of my favorites. There’s a really funny one it’s another rehearsal where she’s goofing around singing cry me a river. She is a child prodigy who reads music and writes music for the covers she sings.
