Today's geoscientists can pinpoint where to drill on a basin hundreds of kilometres wide with much greater chance of success.
This is the story of the exploration teams at Tullow Oil: The story of how the geologists, engineers and economists start with a blank sheet of paper... gather evidence for their ideas... and evaluate the size of the prize.

You can work in consulting, hydrogeology, environmental geology, petroleum, oil and gas, geosteering, geotech, the list goes on. You don't gotta be stuck in one field just because your degree says petroleum geologist. Best of luck.

If it was easy to get investors to build oil companies in my country "South Yemen" there is the biggest oil and Natural gas industrial in the world there was a company who came to explore for oil in gas on my tribes land and the previous prime ministers son said "this will be my land" he wants to take it by force then we stood against the government and told them you won't take our land by force either 50% by 50% or not but the previous government already had too many other sites they make over $20 million dollars in the black market but we now (South Yemen) wants to be independent country and we will be soon opening our doors for investment in all kind of industrials

Abiogenic petroleum theories has been largely debunked. There isn’t universal consensus on the theory. Even if it had origins in the earth’s mantle, the overwhelming amount of crude oil is from biological origins.

Let me save you some time so you don't waste it watching this video. A bunch of people with no idea how to actually drill a well get together in a comfy office and look at charts and numbers and have catered meals and drinks then tell the people who do the real work where to drill.
After that they get into their vehicles, which they would have no idea how to repair, and drive to their homes which they, again, would have no idea how to repair and pat themselves on the back and watch the grammy awards.You're welcome.
