Bill not only does an amazing job at doing Rowlf's voice, but capturing the essence of what Jim Henson brought to one of his original and beloved characters. Keep up the great work Bill 👍
Well, it’s because the puppeteers know how to give the characters so much personally that they…for lack of a better term…lose themselves to the puppet, both from the audience POV and (in extreme cases) their own. The latter was made a key plot point in the VR video game series Hello Puppets, in which a college-level news reporter visits-and finds himself trapped in-the studio for ta Sesame Street-esque show called Mortimer’s Handymen, which is now infested with puppets who drain the life-force out of the puppeteers who are attached to them both physically and supernaturally via a form of voodoo that the founder of the studio attempted used to make the puppets more lifelike. …Sorry for the info-bombing.
This was so cool! Bill Barretta does great with playing Rowlf’s voice. Rowlf The Dog was one of my favorite Muppets characters as a kid. I’m now 20 years old and He’s still my favorite! Not just because I’m a big Dog person, but I loved him playing the piano too! I like the sounds a piano makes when the keys are pushed!
Bill is more on the rough tones of Muppet characters at the same time who knows. But remember, puppetry especially The Muppets are more than just doing a voice.

he even Outdoes Jim with Dr.Teeth
@@masterfarr8265 You hush your mouth! Nobody outdoes Jim Henson!
Yosef Demby actually he does
@@masterfarr8265 How can you say that ‽
Yosef Demby because it's my opinion
You’d think it wouldn’t work when you see the puppeteers, yet somehow it does. Loved the whole “guy behind me” gag
I thought it worked better with Rowlf than it did with Pepe.

I am old.... & bill literally captures the spirit of Rowlf from the jimmy dean show & the early muppet shows
Such a great video, Bill Barretta has had such an amazing career working with The Muppets
I love his Dr Teeth
Rolf is by far one of the best muppets!
He captures Jim as Rowlf really well and its awesome
Rowlf is so cute and cuddly.
And he's a very good piano player.
I paid attention to Rowlf the entire time. Then I remember oh wow Bill is doing the voice. Incredible work
And puppetry obviously
That's the magic of the muppets!
Jim would be proud
Even though Bill’s not a ventriloquist, you still focus mostly on the puppet. That’s amazing! 😉
Yeah, that’s not uncommon. Even Jim himself noted, the talking frog is much more interesting than the bearded man behind him.
I just love Rowf the Dog. :)
Bill gave me advice on my puppetry video when I sent it to him
It’s a shame that Rowlf is so underutilized, since Bill really kills it with him.
My favorite muppet. A king.
That is so awesome
WE ❤️YOU, ROWLF!!!
Love this man
I wish rowlf would be around a lot more
I love Rowlf the Dog!
Looks like Rowlf's status is rebounding!
When Rowlf did a facepalm, it looked almost like Bill was trying to block Rowlf's field of view.
Which I guess technically he was.
I was waiting for the old "he has cold hands" joke.
My favorite dog
How come Bill doesn't play Waldorf?
Because Dave Goelz took over for Waldorf since 1992.
I think he'd be too deep for Waldorf
I would like to hear bill do Kermit

I tried focusing on Bill but it never feels like the voice is coming out of him, it always feels like it's coming out of the puppet.

Cool
Sounds like Skye and Misha
good boy
I wonder how Bill would do with Kermit
