This is where it all STARTED! I wonder why this is not a landmark place in Liverpool! I visited there. Well worth the effort to get there. And thank you Roag Best for a great tour.
Ohh gosh the memories! Back in the late 90s I lived as 8 Haymans Green. My flat is shown in the first image card, the two windows to the left where my living room and the bay window to the right was my bedroom! I’m assuming that it is still in the Best family although they seem to have opened up the casbah as a museum of sorts and it’s looking great. My then boyfriend played lead guitar in The Pete Best Band and the played all over the Europe and practiced in the Casbah. Very very rarely the Bests (Pete and Rogue) would open it up for particular events or the Beatles Festival and I would end up behind the bar in the garden marquee through the day and when it slimmed down to just special invited guest we would go inside to the Casbah and I would end up jumping on the bar then as well before finally dragging my ass up the basement stairs, round to the front and up the stairs to my bed. The last time I was there was December 31st 1999 where we all saw in the new year on the dance floor of the spider room. That place always smells to high hell when it’s full and just like the Cavern the walls start to sweat! I haven’t actually been back since then I don’t think, we had moved out about a year earlier and my partner had moved on from playing in the band. My partner and his family were all still friends with Rogue who I think was at least 10 years younger than Pete. Thanks for triggering all these amazing memories!
Most magical day of my life was visiting that place last summer. The Beatles true roots just humbled me... And then to see Noddy Holder signed the wall in the Aztec Room just put the visit over the top for me.

Interesting story!
Very cool, it looks like it was a large apartment, do you remember what you paid back then.
I wish I could’ve been there
