Running Up That Hill (folk version) | ROAN

Like many of you, I've been watching the new season of Stranger Things (and loving it). I was delighted to see that one particular song by Kate Bush was featured in this season. For those who don't know: Kate Bush is one of my all time favorite artists and I have the Hounds of Love album framed and hanging on my wall.
Something about her music has always felt transcendant to me. It's always taken me far away from the places I'd rather not be. So, to see Max walking around with her headphones on and blasting Running Up That Hill to escape real life (and other, much worse things), was very relatable to me.
This show has rekindled my love for this song, so I wanted to pay tribute to it. This is my, what I like to call, "Cinematic Folk" version of a Kate Bush classic. I really hope you enjoy!

I came looking specifically for a folk cover, because I could tell the song would translate into that style well, if done right. The stripped-down backing and your pure, knowing delivery are exactly what was needed. Just lovely in every way.
