Pay your money and you take your chances. I had a partial replacement that was great for three to five months. Then I had two years of pain until they discovered the tibial component was loose. I’m three months post total knee revision. I’m active slightly obese and didn’t have any traumatic episodes, for exercise I rode my bike on pavement and groomed trails. There was no specific episode where I noticed it failed. My neighbor has had her partial knee for twelve years. I wish they would have diagnosed that loose component sooner. The total knee is twice the rehab and twice the pain, and it’s only half as good as your original knee. My partial replacement felt completely natural after three months. I was discharged twelve hours after my total knee revision, my pain relief at home was totally inadequate for the first five days. It’s a rough recovery and you measure progress by the month.

That sucks. I've heard mixed reviews of having it done. I've seen people say it's the greatest thing they've ever done and it changed their life. I've also seen people wish they never had it done

I'm trying to find a local Phoenix, AZ orthopedic surgeon who specializes in partial knee replacement.
It's been very difficult, everyone I talk to only does full knee replacement. Can you provide any contact info for a surgeon in my area that specializes in partial. Thanks in advance, Regards Tony

I have had both the TKA and Revision done on the right knee. 2 years ago the medial side of my left knee meniscus essentially shredded, MRI showed fissures and delamination of the cartilage in the medial compartment. Going to see my Ortho tomorrow and wondering if a partial is an option or just do the total.

The problem with knee replacement is that they can’t do whatever they want after the surgery!
    It’s like a false tooth!
That’s what happened to assholes who keep on replacing women!

It's a give and take situation. I can walk for miles now after my full replacement, but stairs still give me issues.,,,
