  • BUDGET GLASS BFS ROD - AIOUSHI EJEC TION FRD MICRO PLAYER
With the trout season well under way, i wanted to test out a glass BFS rod i bought from AliExpress.
The Aioushi ejec tion frd micro player is a budget BFS rod from china (aliexpress). At the time of making this video it cost roughly £100 from Aliexpress.
Its is a Japanese style rod (1 piece blank and separate handle). The blank itself is very interesting. Unlike its stablemates, this glass fibre blank is actually fast actioned, rather than the traditional slow to moderate action found on trout rods. This means it has a beautifully light tip that easily loads those 1-5g lures..... but has enough backbone lower down to assist with setting the hook on a strike.
I will be comparing this rod with the majorcraft finetail glass bfs rod in a future video to see how this rod stacks up with a premium brand.

Definitely a faster action than my 4 piece. Great video mate.

I'm currently using an ali express "Shimange "474 UL 1.4m glass rod , I can cast a Savage gear mayfly nymph on a beadheaad with dark wolf ultra (latest model , standard brakes etc) BUT - I'm using light flourocarbon in the slim hope I can land a jack. Problem is the coil memory of the fc , braid would be better , but that needs an fc trace , and a I don't think the light lure will have enough weight to pull the knot through the tip ring - but I'll try it sometime . Check out Andrews knots channel , he has a vid on "kill chub rig " (poor choice of words - he's top on fish care) , this shows a fixed float rig which give some idea of the detachable float rig I use . Also check his ultra light lure vid , he uses fixed spool for that , You can just about chuck a feather with BFS spinning rods , but I prefer the baitcaster .

Nice video , yep , softer rods do lead you to think about the hook set , however , when I was a water bailiff , I had loads of time to fish and experiment . First off , you managed to hook the pike and chub ok because ( and this is a totally personal theory) because they were larger and therefore heavier fish . When fly fishing , I rarely failed to set the hook . Personal theory again here , I reckon this is because the hooks are smaller , plus the trout is actually "eating" the fly/nymph , whereas with lure and spinners , I got the impression the trout were " seeing off "" the lure as they saw it as invading their territory , So they sometimes just nip or "butt" the lure . My tactic is to scale the lure sizes right down to micro lures , and on all my lures , scale the hook size down (singles). You can fish tiny lures /nymphs by adding a "float" on the line , look on ali express at floats , the ones to get are round with a lead band , they clip on to the line so can be taken off/on easily , you will need to put float stops on the line as they can slip .Other method is to use fly fishing strike indicators , and add a split shot below to help with casting weight , although I prefer to use tungsten putty as it easier to adjust weight and less likely to damage line when being removed . Hope that's of some use .

Hi Damian, firstly … I really do think this is a great rod… it casts really well and it feels great . For me the verdict is out with setting the hooks using singles on hardbaits with this rod.
With trebles I have had good hookup ratio.
I am getting a major craft finetail glass for upstream hardbaits with singles.
Go to AliExpress and look up frd ejec tion micro player…… it’s the 1 piece (about £100 on Ali)
