Just listening to this thinking about walking around the city at night, minding my business observing the night life.
I needed to solve a case in History for my class, and I played this while working on it. I tried to word it to make it sound like a true detective on the case, and this music just helped me concentrate on what I was doing. I still cant get over how I actually felt like I was a true detective solving a mystery, with this music playing. Whoever made this is AMAZING!!!

FINALLY!!!! After literal YEARS of searching, I found more stuff that sounds like the opening rift of World of Goo OST Regurgitation Pumping Station that doesn't suddenly turn into a Blues café. Am I the only one that likes this particular guitar twanging and groovy build up or is there a mysterious underworld of cool music and detective vibes that I don't know about? I'm basically a private investigator, I was working on a personal case for me, then once I was nearly at the end, it just...
Collapsed. Everything I had worked on, for 3 weeks straight. The whole case just went cold.

When I listen to this, I just feel this urge to investigate SOMETHING. I don't even care if it's about an old librarian lady who lost one of her books. You sure as hell count on me to retrieve that literature, as long as this plays, I am in.

This would sound fantastic placed on soundtrack for noir TV series that sprinkles in some neat crime drama and adventure elements with it. Also I like how much captivating worldbuilding hearing internal monologues convey on what life story is being told in foreshadowing detail.

I drink lots coffee to kill my chronic pain, at least for sometime. Every day is a night that never ends. I'm only a philosopher because I want to better understand this weird existence; not sure if I'll get all the answers I want. If I could only live a painless life, but it seems to be impossible. I came to on the floor. My wallet and piece were gone. She even broke my fan or rather, the back of my head broke the fan. She's one fierce hell cat, I'll give her that. I felt under my desk and grabbed my .38; not as intimidating as my Colt .45 but it'll put a man just as deep underground. The memory of her cheap perfume told me she's a good time girl. The empty matchbox she left in my waste basket told me she has her good times at Frankie's Cabaret.
I was about to hail a cab and remembered - no wallet. Looks like I'm hoofing it crosstown.

Welcome to Elysium City, a city of prosperity and paradise…that’s what a scumbag that wants your money for an overpriced home you wanna buy would tell you. In actuality, Elysium is cesspool of mafia syndicates, psychopaths and degenerates. You’re better off living anywhere else but here. However, I call it home.
The name’s Carter, Alistar Carter, an ex-cop turned private detective. My time on the force was sweet until three years ago *flashback of partner getting killed by crazed psychopath* I’ll never forget that day…that same day my partner was gunned down saving my life. Now since then, I’ve been taking petty jobs from people who want dirt on an enemy, desperate spouses and that sort of stuff. The type of stuff a real police officer wouldn’t even bother their time looking into.
I take the jobs to keep me at least somewhat busy, and to help fuel my taste of bourbon. Which reminds me *tries to pour himself a glass* shit. I need to go buy more.
“Mr. Carter, your 5 o’clock is here to see you.” my secretary Denise calls from the front office. “Oh good, send her in.” My client today is Mrs. Lockhart, a beautiful woman with a body that would make Zeus himself settle down permanently. She’s not just a pretty face though, she intelligent, sassy and clever. “Alistar, long time no see, doll.” She also happens to be my ex-wife. “What do you want

Obviously you know about my recent husband?” She asks me. “How could I forget, Harrison Lockhart, CEO of Valhalla Auto. What about him?” I spitefully responded. “He’s dead, Alistar.” I look to her in a bit of skepticism . “I heard and what do you want me to do about it?” She looks up to me with an amount of sadness in her face but a hint of relief as well.
“I want you to find the man who killed him, please. For me, Alistar.” I look to her and ask “What’s in it for me?” She scoffs in annoyance “How about 50,000 dollars to start?” I sit down in my chair and face her. “You got any leads for me to start with?” She pulls a letter and wedding band. In the letter he explains how he’s made some enemies and how he is in deep with the Corleone family, the biggest mob family in Elysium City. He also wrote how what he knows could bring them down once and for all. “So what did Harry know? Seems like he stuck his nose where it shouldn’t be? For example…” I shoot her a glare that tells her what I meant by that. “*Tch* I knew it was a mistake for coming here. If you’re gonna start an argument then I’ll just leave.” She gets up and give me half of the money now. “You’ll get the other half once you solve the case. Oh and Alistar…” I looked at her in slight annoyance. “Don’t drink too much of your life away.” She closes the door to my office and leaves. Well it seems I got myself a case to keep me busy and a great idea to start my investigation. Time for me to hope back into the cesspool called Elysium City. (Yeah, I was bored)
