Thanks for the growing views on my helmet unboxing. Don’t forget to subscribe and share. Would also love to hear what other video’s you would like to see.
Thanks for the detail shots in the end. Overall, it looks really nice. I see some issues with it though. The dome on the right side (the wearer's right) has a strange bend toward the chin (should be straighter). The masking for the paint on there right cheek is a little sloppy (should go more towards the edge)...but compared to other "screen accurate" ESB Vaders, the Skunkworks one does look really good overall. Also, the mesh pattern in the eye-lenses was not used in the screen used helmet, but more a modern treatment. (I'm a Vader nut here in California with a few screen accurate helmets). :) Enjoy!
@@doyouluvit Sorry for the long delay in replying (just came back to this). I have 2 Don Post Deluxe ESB Vaders which have lineage from actual screen used helmets. The Mike Warren is a very nice version also.

Well , i came to your channel to try to figure out what voice changer i wanted to use , but then i start to watch through your videos and i came across this unboxing and oh buddy does this look amazing and esb is my favorite of all the movies so i just decided to upgrade lol . I just got the armor and helmet combo like yours my friend thank you for the great review
@@Cosplayvicar can you do a video on a screen accurate cape and show where to purchase one and how to attach it to the costume, this is my other page i was accidentally leaving comments from my bodybuilding page , you inspired me to upgrade my vader suit to a screen accurate one . The suit ive been using is the ruby spheres version, i have no clue where to get a real cape ?? Thank you my friend and greetings from Jacksonville florida
Now I know where to get a decent bucket from, how about the soft parts? I have the chest armor and box, belt and shins so far. It's clear that to get 501st approval, you really have to spend the money to get a great looking costume. I've been looking at Fenix Props in Argentina and they're a company I've seen mentioned countless times as being one of the main ones to get accurate, great quality costume parts.
Yep, Fenix is the shiznit! Bought my ESB Gauntlets & Cod Piece from them and they are absolutely screen-accurate, approvable and of the highest quality. If you're thinking about using them, you can confidently go right ahead. You won't be disappointed!
Id say the best place to learn about all things vader is the Sith Lord Detachment. They will give you many recommendations that are reliable. Most vaders get their under suit from fenix. For the gloves there are lots of vendors that are better than fenix. The codpiece for fenix, while approvable, isnt necessarily the best for the cost. You could DIY your own or find a vendor. The cape and inner robe for fenix also isnt the best. Id recommend KJB (kelly jo boyd) or kev vader (on SLD). However, I would highly recommend joining the SLD, reading other WIPs for the particular version of vader you want to do, and make a vendor list for each part you need to buy. However, do not buy anything without asking SLD members about that thing first. It is easy to get scammed when in the process pf buimding your vader. Good luck!!! If you have joined since commenting on this video, Great!
Just curious if you are still happy with your Vader helmet...looks amazing and that is for the video...I have one in Paul's checkout so I just wanted to know how it's held up etc...thanks in advance.
@@Cosplayvicar any chance you'd be willing to send a pic or two of the inside of your helmet just so I can see where you added the padding... Thanks in advance.
@@amill1563 When I get the helmet in the right place I can see much better than in my Stormtrooper. I dont see small children at my feet but that’s to do with not being able to tip my head.
That would take me a while to answer. I’m in the US for a chunk of time. Your best bet would be to reach out to skunkwork props. The maker could tell you quick.
@@crunk209 DM them through the website. I made my order by joining the Sith Lord Detachment website. This is the 501st Sith Lords. I found him on there and placed the order. But it can be done also by DM paul on the website I posted.
@@therealdeal4492 another commenter said the same thing about the shadow FX studios version and said the bookface one is better. What is the best one? I want to spend my money in the right place
There are two versions Bookface sells, quasimoto and darth ugly. Im not sure the version this guy has, but darth ugly is the more affordable option, being around $560 for a finished version. Im not sure how much quasimoto costs but I remember it was around $800 for a finished version. This is excluding that most people buy the helmet with the shoulder armour so the paint matches, adding around $400. This also excludes shipping btw
@@OutcastCantina if money is an issue most sellers sell kits where you can finish it yourself at a somewhat affordable price. Also there hasnt rlly been a screen accurate vader stl produced yet though I know several people in the SLD working on one. 3D printing helmets are less durable than fiberglass, especially pla which is prone to warping easily in heat, making just 3d printing helmets suitable for trooping highly difficult.
@@TisDanskI definitely agree. I have made my Mandalorian armor all 3D printed. It takes a while and it is really difficult to get rid of all print lines in narrow spots. I would prefer fiberglass molds over any 3D printed model for sure. Way more durable and accurate
Sorry but these are the least accurate helmets made! I wish people knew what they were talking about before making these kinds of statements about an accurate helmet. Nothing accurate about the bookface helmet!
Mmmm I don't wish to argue with you but i'm hoping you are being hyperbolic.... 'least' accurate? I can name many more inaccurate. You may not think its as accurate as the one you have (I am not here to enter into that debate) but please be careful not to become a gatekeeper that spoils others enjoyment of something.
@Cosplay Vicar Accuracy is not subjective...you made that claim in this video not me.. enjoyment of a prop is great ...calling it accurate is not accurate .. Again it's the least accurate helmet available
@@therealdeal4492 I think saying least accurate is just ridiculous and make yourself look a fool. You can say it’s not accurate in your view. But there are others out their that would be classed as more inaccurate.
@Cosplay Vicar again calling accurate looks foolish... once again, accuracy to the original screen used ESB is NOT subjective. it's either accurate to that prop or its not! Calling me a fool when you obviously can't tell an inaccurate prop helmet from an accurate is quite hilarious... I can compare and take apart that bookface helmet all day long .. Nothing accurate about it other than it looking like Vader 👍
strong dislike for you not sharing the cost of this entire kit. if somebody truly aspired to wear a Vader kit the cost wouldn't scare them away no matter how steep the number is. making an entire 10 minute video only to NOT reveal the cost simply makes you another person who is in the way to those who may have wanted to troop or even collect this kit.
Hang on. Firstly - “strong dislike for you”. Interesting you made it personal. How can you dislike someone you have never met and you don’t know their heart. I’ve been making videos on cosplay for a number of years and clearly on them I state I’ve done everything on a budget. Where I can make myself I do. I don’t share the cost as I don’t want to be the guy who says this is the only way to make a costume. I also don’t think it is helpful. Firstly the makers put their prices up all the time. If I bought on a sale then what I paid isn’t reflective of the true cost anyway. If you want to know the price there is a link. Look it up. I certainly not in the way and want to help more people to get involved. I suggest you watch some of my other video’s and then apologise for being so rude.
Agreed. Who is going to attack you for cost, it makes you look pompous. A true cost of a kit, no matter the kit would definitely help one to make a purchase or not depending on budget.
