10 Interview Puzzles || 10 Interview Riddles || commonly asked interview puzzles
Interview puzzles are critical thinking problems, much like brain teasers.
Interviewers commonly use these types of puzzle questions to determine a
potential employee’s fit for the company by assessing their ability
to solve complex problems using strategies and higher-order thinking.
In this video i am presenting 10 such interview puzzles which are commonly asked in interviews. feel free to pause the video after each puzzle and try yourself before checking the solution. lets everyone know your answer in the comment section.
    1. The Camel Race
An Arab sheikh tells his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win. The brothers, after wandering aimlessly for days, ask a wise man for advise. After hearing the advice they jump on the camels and race as fast as they can to the city. What does the wise man say?
    2. A Duck
There are two ducks in front of a duck, two ducks behind a duck and a duck in the middle. How many ducks are there in total?
    3. Five people were eating apples, A finished before B, but behind C. D finished before E, but behind B. What was the finishing order?
    4. Jack is looking at Anne. Anne is looking at George. Jack is married, George is not, and we don’t know if Anne is married. Is a married person looking at an unmarried person?
    5. What is N in the sequence?
    6, 9, 27, 54, N, 2241
6.Twice As Many Women As Children
At a party of thirty-five people there are twice as many women as children and twice as many children as men. How many of each are there?
    7. A man has 53 socks in his drawer: 21 identical blue, 15 identical black and 17 identical red. The lights are out and he is completely in the dark. How many socks must he take out to make 100 percent certain he has at least one pair of black socks?
    8. This “burning rope” problem is a classic logic puzzle. You have two ropes that each take an hour to burn, but burn at inconsistent rates. How can you measure 45 minutes? (You can light one or both ropes at one or both ends at the same time.)
    9. A girl meets a lion and unicorn in the forest. The lion lies every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and the other days he speaks the truth. The unicorn lies on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and the other days of the week he speaks the truth. “Yesterday I was lying,” the lion told the girl. “So was I,” said the unicorn. What day is it?
    10. The Mystery Six-Digit Number
Find a six-digit number containing no zeros and no repeated digits that satisfies the following conditions:
    1. The first and fourth digits sum to the last digit, as do the third and fifth digits.
    2. The first and second digits when read as a two-digit number equal one quarter the fourth and fifth digits.
    3. The last digit is four times the third digit.

How Many Questions Did You Answer ??

  • @TaxmanTV
    @TaxmanTV Рік тому +15

The duck question is flawed. The correct answer, based on how you wrote the riddle, is not enough information but a minimum of 3 and must be an odd number. You can have any odd number of at least 3 be the correct answer since you merely say "a" duck and don't give any other parameter. For example, if can be 7 ducks and the 3rd duck would have 2 in front of him, the 5th duck would have 2 behind him, and duck #4 would be in the middle. Maybe suggest you change the riddle to "There are 2 ducks in front of a duck BUT none behind it, 2 ducks behind a duck BUT none in front of it, and a duck in the middle"

    Rope
Light the both ends of the 1st rope at a time
And take another rope just fold it into half and light the folded one at it both ends exactly when the first is completed so it burn in 15 min gives us 45min

The last question could have been solved in a much clearer way...
Start with F=4xC. So F has to be a single digit multiple of 4... So it can be 4 or 8 and C would be either 1 or 2.
In the case of 4 we have not used only 2 and 3 which cannot add to 4 and we can't make 2 sets (A+D and C+E) which can add up to F
So F has to be 8 and C has to be 2 and E has to be 6
Now taking the third equation. We know E is 6. So we need a 2 digit multiple of 4 which ends with 6... Options are 16, 36, 56, 76 and 96
The only way to get these numbers is if the unit's place is 4 or 9. We can eliminate 16 and 36 since A can't be 0.
A has to be 1 since C = 2 and A cannot be greater than 2 since the product of 4*A has to be a single digit. This ensures that DE is a 2 digit number.
    Now that we know A, we can compute D to be F-A = 8-1 = 7
So DE is 19x4=76, making B=9
    ABCDEF =192768

How my brain solved the last one.
    If F = 4 x C then C has to be either 1 or 2 as F has to be a single digit.
    Since A,D,C and E can't be the same number or zero then F can't be 4 as the only valid values for A + D = 4 and C + E = 4 would be 1+ 3, 2 + 2 and 3+1 which would break the unique numbers rules so F = 8 and C = 2. Which makes C + E = 8 solving for e makes it 6.
    To solve A + D = 8 we have the following combination. 1+7, 2+6, 3+5, 4+4.
    2+6 is already used for C+E and 4 + 4 is invalid leaving a combination of either 3 and 5 or 1 and 7.
    Since AB * 4 has to be a two digit number AB has to be < 25. That leaves the only valid combination for A + D = 8 to be 1 and 7 as A has to be 2 or 1. That makes A = 1 and D = 7.
    Solving for B we have AB = 76/4 which equals 19 so B = 9
    Answer 192768

For the last question, in addition to "192768" I found that "142568" also satisfies the conditions. 56 / 4 = 14.

Am I dumb for thinking 5 was the answer to the ducks as I didn't think they had to be in a line? Two in front one in the middle two at the rear like a 5 on a dice formation.

    Re the duck question
The correct answer is "the set of all odd numbers greater than 1." That is to say that 3 is the least number that satisfies the conditions, and each correct solution must be an odd number.

Jack, George, anne puzzle I didn't get the logic behind it

    • @urnotSylvia
      @urnotSylvia Рік тому +2

Since the only thing we are not sure is that if Anne is married or not. We break it up to 2 conditions. If Anna is not married, we know that Jack is looking at Anne and he is married, so a married person (Jack) is looking at a not married person (Anne). In the other condition, if Anne is married, and we know that she is looking at George, and we know that George is not married. In this case a married person (Anne) is looking at a not married person (George). So doesnt matter Anne is married or not, there will always be a married person look at a not married person! Thus TRUE. I hope this is helpful:)

Just go through all the days of the week.
For example, if it is Sun, both are truthful and their statement must be true. But both can't be lying on Saturday. Hence it can't be Sunday.
If it is Monday, then lion will tell a lie and unicorn will tell the truth. But then unicorn's statement that I told a lie yesterday can't be true since it was telling the truth on Sunday
Go through each day and find reasons why it can't be

Disappointed with the function (number sequence) question. You started with the answer and then plugged in numbers to show that the answer works. But you didn’t go through any thought process of how you would logically arrive at that answer in the first place.
