Hey bro, you should break all of these up into shorts. You've already done the work now just break it up and draw more attention to your channel. This was a great video.
This really is the ONLY video someone needs to watch to understand the different composition 'rules' and theories. Each composition technique is clearly explained and demonstrated by sample images. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make this video Nate. I will be sharing it with ALL my fellow photographers. 🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👍
I agree, I have been watching quite a lot on composition recently and a most of them were very technical (I had my notebook ready but ended up not writing anything). I am just a regular person with a phone camera and a little compact zoom camera who just wants to take better holiday/landscape and family photos. THIS video is exactly what I was looking for. I will rewatch and keep this one.
Absolutely! 💯 THEE BEST video on UA-cam re: photographic compositions. I'm relatively new to photography, and I appreciate this content SO much. Thank you for this and stay safe!!!
Brother I've been watching this video for over 3 days trying to learn them from me. I've been following the biggest channels on UA-cam for years and no one had seen a video as complete as this. If I ever become a professional photographer, I will be eternally grateful.
Thanks for watching! Yes pretty much it's like most art where you'll see a painting of just a single dot and it could sell for millions haha. Oftentimes what's important in both photography and other forms of art is the story behind the photo! Capturing stories vs capturing photos is what separates the greats! But yes it's good to know all the compositions you can work with
This is the best presentation on compositions i have ever seen on youTube. I have taken notes of all 30 even of the ones I knew earlier. Thanks very much. You are a great teacher.
Congratulations from Greece. It's amazing how a new man can be the best of all the "famous expert advisors" for photography composition. Thank you very much. You are great!!!

WOW this was one of the most valuable photography videos Ive ever seen. This helped me out so much and you presented this information simply and beautifully. Thank you so much and great job on this video!!
This is the best ever composition video . First you explain the pattern and then the example wow your viewer sees it ! Thank you I am a fan of your site.
This video is amazing. I learned more in this 40 minutes than I have in watching hours of others. Easy to follow and simply descriptive. Thank you, So Much!
Thank you Tim! If you would like more composition content, consider checking out my Composition Mastery Course and be sure to use code "UA-cam25" for 25% off at checkout → www.imaginated.com/courses/photography/
Thanks everyone for watching and all the kind comments. This was one of the first videos I created and I kept putting off this video but one day I decided to stop procrastinating and just record it. Now it's my most popular video and reading all the comments I didn't know it would provide value to so many! Just a gentle reminder, if there's something you've been putting off photography or non-photography related, remember that the only way to see what's possible is to take that first step and 'just do it.' You never know where it might lead.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, NATE! Curious: Do you shoot mostly in Manual or Aperture modes? Also, do you usually shoot in RAW or JPEG format? Thanks in Advance!
Thanks! I shoot in Manual mode which I always recommend so you can manually control your exposure settings (shutter speed, aperture, and ISO). I also shoot in RAW for these reasons → www.imaginated.com/blog/reasons-to-shoot-raw/@@hurleygreen927
Thanks for the well detailed info. I will be starting to learn photography. Street and landscape photography is where I will start and see what happens. More for a hobby.
What great video… this is definitely much better than any composition book I have ever read. And the pictures selected to illustrate the different composition techniques are very well curated and beautiful. Awesome job, Nate.
Thanks Orlando! If you would like more composition content, consider checking out my Composition Mastery Course and be sure to use code "UA-cam25" for 25% off → www.imaginated.com/courses/photography/
What a great video! I am an amateur photographer and this is a great summary. I will use your videos as a guide to help me to understand more about photo composition. I can say some of these rules I can see I already do without even thinking, but learning them will for sure improve my creativity and the quality of my photos! Thanks :)
Thank you so much for all the excellent examples on composition! The information didn’t feel overwhelming as in some videos, because you speak slowly and concisely. Please consider making this into a booklet. I would surely buy it. Thanks again for making this superb video
Hands down, one of the very best videos I have ever seen on the topic of composition in photography. Succinct and straightforward. I appreciate your taking the time to make this video! Cheers!!!
Nate, I really appreciate your thoughts on this subject, the value of which is underestimated. The consolidation of information, with your own explanation is very informative. To add to the body of information, which I am trying to consolidate in my own mind is a concept call harmonic armature: this is easily found on the internet and one source the harmonic amateur and photography.
I will be creating individual videos covering each composition technique in-depth. I will be adding them in this comment. Subscribe and follow along if you wish to be notified when they drop: 1. I am a trained and retired photography. This video on photography composition is outstanding. It explains all of the important guideline of composition and shares an example. Best video on UA-cam. Want to make good photographs. Learn from this video. Stop taking snapshots mindlessly. Outstanding video!! Well done!!
Great overview of a topic that is often reduced to ‘use the rule of thirds’. Seeing so many methods together like this reminds me what a mysterious an art photography is. Whilst you are ultimately moving some dials and pushing a button, the way it is all composed is the source of the magic. I run a photography club at my school and my students really need too be aware of this. Aware of it so that it informs how they compose through the viewfinder and experiment with different angles. The theory thereby becomes a source of art. I have to say that watching this was a really great use of 30 off minutes.
Excellent video, thanks! I think good amateur photographers do some of this instinctually or from shear practice. it’s great to have such a clearly worded and demonstrated overview. I’m glad to have found your channel!
The only detailed video I can finally understand. Thank you. But I need more. I am a beginner in using a camera and taking pictures and everything for me is just a mess.
